"Hello?" Klaus answered the call, wondering why Martin had called him.

It was normal for Martin only to call Klaus when he needed favors related to the women he went around with. Obviously, that didn’t mean he was a mosquito sucking Klaus dry.

If Klaus hadn’t told him that he wanted to stay away from work for some time, he would have already appeared at his house to check on him.

Martin said, his voice dark and heavy.

What’s going on?

Klaus frowned. He couldn’t understand why Martin was acting so strange all of a sudden.

"Where do I have to come?" He asked.

After those final words, Martin cut the call.

With furrowed brows, Klaus checked Martin’s location.

Upon seeing it, his confusion only increased.

"What the hell is he doing at the Golden Street?"

The Golden Street was a place full of influential people; many important deals and business decisions were made there, and it was definitely not a place for him or Martin to be.

Dumbfounded, he stepped out of the performance center and walked to the parking lot, wondering what all of this was about.

[If you are that worried, then do not go. What is the point of brooding over something you know nothing about?]

’Aren’t you a wise sage, huh? Last time I checked, all you cared about was getting me laid.’

He reached his bike and climbed onto it.

[I am only trying to help with your inability to get a woman.]

’Is that how you cope with being a pervert? You can do better than that.’

He twisted the key, and the bike’s engine shuddered to life, letting out a feral roar as he drove it out of the parking lot and drifted toward his house.

If he was going to such a prime location, he at least needed to be somewhat presentable.

After reaching his house, he rushed into the bathroom and cleaned himself, then he dried, wore a clean, formal charcoal black three-piece suit on a light blue shirt, and began to expertly comb his hair.

[Host sure is doing a lot of things just to meet a man.]

He rolled his eyes and muttered after putting down the comb, "Unlike you, I can think beyond fucking around."

[I am simply listing things as they are.]

"Sure, sure," He sneered.

The system didn’t say anything else, and he left the house, locking the door behind him.

Then he shifted to his bike and rode it to Martin’s location.

The city was bustling with activity. Shops, stalls, and occasional food trucks lined both sides of the road. After ten minutes of weaving through the web of passing vehicles, his gaze landed on a wide board covered in gold.

Golden Street

I feel poor just by looking at it.

[Host, have you forgotten that money is meaningless in the current era?]

’Do you think I can forget something when you keep reminding me over and over again?’

[Host, I am only doing so to keep you out of unwanted trouble. Running behind gaining money during the apocalypse is both meaningless and utterly stupid, and I do not believe someone as smart as Host would do something so stupid, right?]

He rolled his eyes and drove closer to Martin’s location. This place had way less traffic, but the road was full of costly sports cars, luxury cars, and bodyguards.

’Why the hell did he come to this hellhole?’

As he sped toward his destination, multiple gazes locked on him. He ignored them and halted his bike before a studio that had no name or board on it.

He stepped down from his bike and mumbled suspiciously, "He didn’t get in some trouble, right?"

He slid the bike’s key into his pocket and stepped toward the studio.

’Only one way to find out.’

His eyes sharpened as he stepped inside the studio, but that only increased his confusion further. No one was there.

Klaus’s expression grimmed. ’Is this a prank?’

If it was, then Martin was about to have an hour-long talk with his fists and kicks.

Right at that moment, his phone buzzed with a notification, and hr checked it.

It was a message from Martin.

Fuming and embarrassed, he made his way to the stairs and climbed them.

After a few seconds, he reached the door leading to Martin and pushed it wide open.

The moment he did, Martin’s dumbfounded face came into his view, and the next instant, he grabbed Klaus’s by the collar and dragged him inside, shutting the door behind them.

"What the fuck are you doing? You stupid bastard!" He growled in a low voice, making sure no one beyond the studio heard him.

Before Klaus could make heads or tails of the situation, for the first time a red screen appeared before him, causing surprise to ride up his face.

[Extreme danger detected.]

[Fleeing the premises is highly suggested.]

’What?’ His brows knit together. He freed himself from Martin’s grip and mumbled, "Calm down, dickhead."

Martin stared at him with a furious expression, his fists placed at his waist.

Klaus looked around; the place seemed to be a technology hub with various devices he knew nothing of, multiple monitors and computers, and a single person was working on them.

Finally composed, he asked inwardly, ’System, what’s wrong?’

[Host, I suggest that you leave this place.]

’Why?’ He frowned.

Seeing him act like that, Martin followed his gaze and looked at the man focusing on the computer screens.

He pointed his thumb at him and asked, "Are you curious about that guy?"

Klaus nodded, and the two – the system and Martin – introduced the person at the same time.

"He is a technology genius, feared even by the powerful corporations, Carl Snitzer."

[That person is one of the infamous figures of the age of the end’s beginning. The fourth evil – Carl Snitzer.]
