After reaching his house, Klaus quickly called Martin to talk about how the construction was going on.

He had already given Martin 300,000$ to make sure that there was no problem during it. However, he still couldn’t stop himself from worrying.

After fifteen minutes, he cut the call and breathed in relief.

’As expected, everything is going smoothly.’

A smile appeared on his face.

Free of all worries, he opened the stock market app and started selling the ones he had and buying ones that would rise in the near future.

By the time he finished, his balance had reached $879,969 — nearly double what he had before and only $120,031 away from his first million.

Seeing the balance rise, his smile deepened, and he mumbled joyously, "Nothing beats the feeling of earning money with just a few clicks."

Still, it was far less than he would need in the future once he was done recruiting the main players of his shadow empire.

It would obviously get much harder over time. That was why he was only making moves that were unnoticeable by the current rulers of this world.

"We need to make connections with as many influential people as possible," he stated, his tone serious.

"And if that alone is not enough, I would ask Carl to find dirt on them... It’s nearly impossible for those in power to stay clean... at least not in the current era."

A few moments later, his untraceable phone began to ring, and he picked up with a wry smile on his face.

"Speak of the devil."

The only person who could call him on this phone was Carl, so it was impossible for it to be anyone else but him.

He picked up the call and placed the phone on his left ear.

"Hello."

Carl asked in an annoyed tone.

"Hmm?" Confused, Klaus mumbled, "What do you mean?"

Klaus frowned deeply and muttered, "What?"

It had been two days since he had met Liliana, and he had expected her to start looking for him after about a week, but to his surprise, she was already searching for him.

’What kind of images did that person send for her to react this way?’ He wondered.

That bastard must have sent something that forced her to throw away her pride.

"Send her an anonymous message and tell her to come to Golden Square Hotel & Restro," Klaus said.

Whatever that person sent didn’t matter; what mattered was that it had worked out in his favor.

A mischievous smile appeared on Klaus’s face, and he said, "Curious? If I remember correctly, you don’t care what I do as long as I can help you in the future."

<...I did say that,> Carl mumbled, his tone reluctant.

"Don’t worry too much; there’s nothing she or anyone can do to hurt me," Klaus muttered, his voice brimming with absolute confidence.

Carl responded before he cut the call.

"What’s so great about an autograph?" He asked himself with furrowed brows and walked into his room.

He already had a plan to meet a familiar face, but that had to be changed slightly. Although the premise was the same, the characters were different.

Instead of the final individual, he was going to meet the first.

"How ironic," he whispered as he took out a dark blue two-piece suit with golden edges and seams and placed it on the bed with a wide grin.

"You’ll have to wait, Elijah. A lady is waiting for me."

A few hours later, Klaus sat on a chair placed beside a table at the center of a grand room with its walls full of various old-time arts.

Soft sunlight streamed through the colored glass window, which also made sure no one could look inside. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling with candles burning on the six limbs extending out of it.

A pastel red tablecloth full of white floral embroidery covered the high-quality, luxurious table, and before Klaus could continue examining the room like a hawk, the doors leading to it opened slightly, and a familiar face stepped in.

Lillian wore a red maxi with a cut at the leg revealing her whitish thigh. The dress fit her perfectly, leaving little to the imagination. Her lips were slightly reddish, and her scarlet hair was cascading down her shoulders like a blood waterfall.

"We meet again," she said with a sweet smile as she shifted into the chair before him.

Although she had done her best to hide it, Klaus could still see the tiredness in her eyes and slight distrust in her voice.

"Indeed. I had expected you to take more time before you started looking for me, but who would’ve thought that you already need me," Klaus stated while chuckling.

Liliana’s smile cracked slightly, and she mumbled, "I... I hadn’t expected I would do something like this either."

To be honest, she was fully prepared to never call the masked man, but today’s image was simply too unexpected and dangerous for her career.

"So? Why were you looking for me?" Klaus asked, intending for her to ask for help.

She bit her lip and lowered her head. "I... I need your help. Please help me."

Klaus placed his hands on the table and crossed his fingers before he asked, "Can you tell me what happened that you are so shaken?"

She shivered, her face darkened instantly, and she spoke after staying silent for a few moments, "The images that person sent me today weren’t a fake... "

Klaus frowned immediately. ’It wasn’t fake? How is that possible? Is this why she had taken that step?’

She clenched her fist and said, "I am ready to pay any price. Please stop all of this from continuing any further."
