Chapter 75: The First Meeting Of The Pillars
The rest of the day passed as the two chatted with one another, and the next day, Trina sent him the plan and list of the trainers.
To his surprise, the trainers weren’t some randoms. Instead, they were well-known masters of their combat styles.
He had expected her to choose cheaper ones just to not trouble him, but his worries were unfounded. It seemed she was just as serious about this as he was.
After that, he called Liliana, Clyde, Trenton, Erick, and Marcel and invited them to dinner at the Golden Square Hotel and Restro.
It was going to be the first dinner of the pillars of his shadow empire.
All of them obviously agreed as he told them that there they would meet the others.
He also called Carl and asked him if he wanted to join his plans or stay away, and the answer had left him fuming.
By the time he finished everything, evening had already fallen onto the Golden City.
With a smile on his face, he wore a black two-piece suit over a red wine shirt and styled his hair.
Then he wore an expensive watch and sprayed perfume on himself before he checked himself in the mirror.
"Heh," he smirked.
"Aren’t I too handsome?" Klaus asked himself with a narcissistic glint in his eyes.
All of a sudden, a blue screen appeared to humble him.
[Host, it seems your delusions are getting stronger. If it were a peaceful world, I would have suggested that you see a psychiatrist.]
But its words did not affect him. Instead, his smile only widened, and he added, "It’s only natural for you to not know how great I look. After all, you don’t have a body yourself."
The system didn’t respond and went silent.
Klaus grinned in triumph, and right then, a horn resounded outside his house.
"He is already here," he mumbled as he walked out and left the house after locking everything.
A sleek black Torsche 911 stood at the street before his house, and he walked to it with a smile.
The window glass lowered, and Martin, who was wearing a golden blazer and pants over a white shirt, gave him a deadpan look.
"Hurry your ass!"
Klaus reached the car, pulled the door open, and took the seat beside him.
He looked at Carl, who was still sitting in the back, focusing on a laptop, and muttered, "Why are you cursing before a kid? Tch. Tch. You sure are irresponsible."
Martin glared at him and hissed, "Shut up."
"Haha!" Klaus leaned back in his chair.
The car growled before it rolled toward their destination, and Carl finally raised his head to look at Klaus.
He shifted closer to his seat and asked while touching his shoulder. "How many people are coming?"
Klaus looked at him from the corner of his eye and said, "Including us three, five more would be coming."
Martin furrowed his brows. "Didn’t you say seven yesterday?"
He shifted his gaze to Martin and replied, "I didn’t count myself."
"I see..."
The car zipped through the streets, and within ten minutes they reached the location.
As they stepped out, the sun was already about to go below the horizon.
They entered the familiar building and walked to the private room that Klaus had booked, and as they made their way there, Klaus remembered something, and he said, "You have to be careful there."
Martin frowned, and Carl’s eyes perked up in excitement.
He shifted to Klaus’s left and asked, "What do you mean?"
Klaus glanced at him and answered, "There is a guy who also wants to be my secretary."
Martin furrowed his brows. "Aren’t you the one who will decide that?"
A mischievous glint passed through Klaus’s eyes, and he shrugged, "I believe in giving everyone equal opportunities. If you prove that you are better than him, then no one would question you being my secretary."
Martin rubbed his forehead and mumbled, "My head is aching already."
They soon reached the room.
A long table was placed at the center with a chair at the head of the table and four on the left and three on the right.
Klaus sat at the head of the table. Martin shifted into the left chair closest to him while Carl shifted into the right one.
"Now we wait," Klaus mumbled as he placed his elbow on the table and locked his fingers before his face. His black eyes stared at the entrance door.
Meanwhile, Martin looked around at the grandeur of the room, and suddenly, Carl asked, "Should I hack the cameras?"
Martin and Klaus looked at him with a dumbfounded expression, and the latter said with a thoughtful expression, "Stop the ones recording this room, not any other. I don’t want them causing trouble."
"Alright," Carl nodded with a grin, his fingers dancing across the keyboard.
Klaus and Martin watched him, both wondering how they were supposed to give normal life to someone who wasn’t normal himself.
A faint chuckle escaped Klaus’s lips, and he returned his gaze to the entrance door.
A few minutes passed with the sound of Carl’s fingers touching the buttons, and the only sound that interrupted it was the sound of the door opening as a woman wearing a one-shoulder velvet red party gown walked in with a somewhat terrified face.
The moment she entered, her eyes met Klaus’s, and she trembled.
There was no way Liliana could ever forget those eyes.
But the next moment she froze as Klaus moved his hands away and gave her a bright smile. "You are here, Liliana Palmer."
He pointed at the chair beside Carl and said, "Take a seat."
However, Liliana didn’t move or answer. Instead, she just stood there with a shocked look on her face.
A moment later, she noticed what she was doing and quickly bowed to him, "I-I am sorry, Mr. Maker! I hadn’t expected that you would be this handsome."
"Heh," Klaus smirked and mumbled inwardly, ’What are you going to say now? Haha.’
