He realized he’d known Damien Vaughn all these years for nothing.

He used to think Damien was so innocent, that he knew nothing but studying and working. But as it turns out!!

’Some college kid, my ass! He really treats me like a disposable tool, tossing me aside when he’s done!’

"Hey, Vaughn, have you no conscience? I just solved your problem, and now you’re talking like this? And what’s this about going after some college kid? You’re just... It was just a phone number, wasn’t it? If you won’t give it, then fine..."

Damien Vaughn glanced at him again.

"Good. Then we have an agreement. Remember your promise today. I’ll come find you in three days."

The two fell silent. Damien Vaughn drove him toward Club DL. As they neared their destination, a 24-hour pharmacy appeared on the side of the road. Damien Vaughn told Brandon Jacobs to get out and buy him a few boxes of condoms.

Brandon Jacobs, who had just started to calm down, felt his hair stand on end again.

"Condoms? A few boxes? Holy shit..."

Damien Vaughn looked at him impatiently. "Didn’t I tell you I’m legally married to Cecelia Archer?"

"..."

’Fine, fine! You have a wife! You get to have sex every night! You’re so amazing!’

Brandon Jacobs’s image of Damien as an innocent man shattered completely. He couldn’t help but mumble as he unbuckled his seatbelt.

"You’re already married, why buy so many? Don’t you want kids?"

"Tsk! Are you afraid I won’t pay you or what? Stop talking so much nonsense!"

Furious, Brandon Jacobs bought him ten boxes.

"A wedding gift. Hope you have a happy sex life!"

How could Damien Vaughn not hear the sarcasm in his voice? He thoughtfully handed four of the boxes back to him.

"You’ll need these too. Take them. And don’t cause any ’accidents’ for me."

"..."

「By the time the car pulled up to his house, it was already three in the morning.」

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t tired, but the thought of seeing Cecelia Archer soon filled Damien Vaughn with energy.

He bounded up the stairs, taking two steps at a time, and tiptoed as he pushed open the bedroom door, afraid of waking Cecelia.

But when he entered, he saw Cecelia in the same position as when he had left, sitting up against the headboard, reading a book.

"It’s so late, why aren’t you asleep yet?"

Seeing him finally home, Cecelia put down her book and stood up to greet him with a smile.

"I don’t know why, but I couldn’t sleep with you not back yet. Why were you gone so long? Did something serious happen? You must be exhausted."

As she spoke, Cecelia started massaging his shoulders.

Listening to her gentle words and looking into her gentle eyes, Damien Vaughn felt he had reached the pinnacle of happiness.

"No. What did I do in my past life to deserve marrying you in this one?"

Cecelia: "..."

The moment Cecelia touched him, an uncontrollable heat flared through Damien Vaughn’s body.

He moved his lips to her ear, whispering softly as he held her.

"Since you can’t sleep, why don’t you join me for a shower?"

Cecelia, of course, knew what he meant. She gave him a bashful push.

"Aren’t you tired?"

"We’ve been married for days, and I’ve still been letting you sleep alone. Do I have the right to say I’m tired?"

And so, Damien Vaughn didn’t get a wink of sleep that night.

The sky was just beginning to lighten when he finished the second round.

Cecelia stroked his sweat-drenched temples.

"Get some sleep, or you’ll run your body into the ground. I’ll wake you up when it’s time."

Held in her arms, feeling safe and comfortable, Damien Vaughn nodded and finally fell into a deep sleep.

「Soon, it was 7:00 AM.」

Seeing him sleeping so soundly after only an hour, Cecelia couldn’t bear to wake him. She sent a message to Ryan.

"Is there anything urgent today? If not, let him rest for the day. He’s really exhausted."

Ryan: "Nothing too urgent. But there are two documents from Finance and Sales that need to be reviewed. They want to move on to the next step as soon as possible."

"Send them over. I’ll have him handle them at home when he wakes up."

Ryan sent the files over. Cecelia couldn’t resist opening them and began to look them over for him, bit by bit.

Damien Vaughn slept until three in the afternoon.

He had been resting his head on Cecelia’s stomach the whole time, and afraid of waking him, she hadn’t moved from that position.

Seeing him open his eyes, she gently stroked his forehead.

"You’re awake? You slept for quite a while. Sleep well?"

He had slept wonderfully. He had even dreamed of many wonderful things about their future.

’It’s so wonderful to see the person you love the moment you open your eyes.’

Damien Vaughn comfortably nuzzled his face against her stomach.

"Pretty good. What time is it?"

"See for yourself."

Cecelia lit up her phone screen. Damien Vaughn glanced at it and frowned.

"Didn’t you say you’d wake me up? Why is it so late?"

"I was afraid you’d die from exhaustion if you kept this up. I asked Ryan, and he said there was nothing particularly urgent, just two documents that needed reviewing. I had him send them over."

Damien Vaughn sat up and gave her a peck on the cheek.

"Alas, from now on, the king will skip morning court."

Cecelia kicked him from under the covers.

Damien Vaughn took the laptop. He was surprised to see it was covered with red dots, green dots, and many other marks.

’It’s clearly Cecelia’s handiwork. She even understands finance.’

"Honey, did you edit this?"

Cecelia smiled. "Just showing off in front of an expert. I was worried you’d be in a rush when you woke up, so I double-checked some of the data beforehand. See if it helps."

It was a huge help.

Damien Vaughn pulled her over and kissed her fiercely again.

"It’s so good to have you, honey."

Cecelia’s face was numb from his kisses. "Just get to your documents. I’ll go make you something to eat."

She washed her face, brushed her teeth, went downstairs to cook him a bowl of noodles, and by the time she came back up, Damien Vaughn had already sent the files off.

"The edits were excellent. I looked them over once and sent them off. You should just be my personal assistant from now on. I could get away with doing so much less work."

Cecelia smiled. "Sure. How much would you pay me a month?"

"I wouldn’t take a single dime; it would all be yours. I’m serious, Cecelia. Come to the company with me tomorrow. For one, you can help me with work so I can get off earlier, and we can spend time with Candy together. For two, just being able to look up and see you will put my mind at ease."

Cecelia sat across from him, cupping her face in her hands as she looked at him.

"Wouldn’t that mean everyone at the company will know about our relationship? Aren’t you afraid of the gossip?"

"Gossip? We’re a legally married couple, what’s there to be afraid of? I wish the whole world knew. It’s settled. You’re coming with me tomorrow."

Cecelia found his just-woken-up appearance a little soft and cute, and couldn’t resist teasing him.

"Can I refuse?"

Damien Vaughn grew visibly tense.

"Refuse? Why would you refuse? You don’t want to go public with me? Is it bad for people to know I’m your husband? Am I that embarrassing?"

Cecelia tilted her head and thought for a moment. "Hmm, how should I put it~"

The egg noodles she had made looked, smelled, and tasted perfect. Damien Vaughn was hungry and just about to eat, but her teasing made him put down his chopsticks and rush over to her.

"What exactly are you dissatisfied with about me? You’re still hesitating? Did I leave you alone for too long? Do you resent me for it? Let’s go! We’re going back to bed!"

Cecelia was startled by him.

"Why can’t you take a joke? Go back to bed? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Just from that one sentence, Damien Vaughn’s blood inexplicably started to boil again.

"I don’t care if I die. Being with you is never enough. Let’s go."
