Chapter 127

Not only were the audience too stunned by what they were seeing to make sense of it, failing to understand what was unfolding before their eyes, but the same could also be said for the very leaders themselves.

Of course, unlike the audience, they were able to see and perceive far more due to the vast gap in power and cultivation between them, and that was exactly what made them even more shocked by what they were witnessing.

After all, Li Yu was only at the first stage of the Qi Gathering Realm, and yet he was throwing punches that could casually crush the skull of any Qi Gathering cultivator;every strike he used against Shi Lan was lethal, packed with an overwhelming amount of strength that simply should not exist in the hands of someone at the Qi Gathering Realm.

The rumors even stated that the kid had only stepped into the realm a few days ago... heck, by all logic he should still be trying to get accustomed to his new body and learn how to control his Qi... yet instead, he displayed flawless control over every movement, every step, every punch, and every ounce of strength, as though he had cultivated for years.

Shi Gubing’s gaze darkened as countless thoughts flashed through his mind; he desperately tried to make sense of the situation, only to fail over and over again, for no matter how he looked at it, none of this made any sense.

The same was true for Guan Ju, who subconsciously rubbed his forehead furiously, his mind thrown into complete confusion; no matter what explanation he came up with, none of it fit what he was witnessing.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, made any sense whatsoever. Elder Ting’s eyes shone with both excitement and intense confusion; he was excited because he hadn’t been disappointed, as the kid wasn’t merely all talk and possessed genuine capability, but that was also exactly why Elder Ting was so utterly confused.

How could someone at the very first stage of the Qi Gathering Realm possess such terrifying combat prowess? It simply made no sense.

As a powerful and renowned cultivator himself, Elder Ting had witnessed countless geniuses throughout his lifetime... one of them being Li Shiyuen, one of the greatest, if not the greatest, geniuses he had ever seen.... yet every single one of them, including Li Shiyuen herself, paled in comparison to what he was witnessing right now.

A cultivator at the first stage of the Qi Gathering Realm was fighting an eighth-stage Qi Refining Realm genius and was actually beating him. Perhaps if Li Yu were relying on some powerful external treasure... a supreme relic, an ancient weapon, a terrifying array, or some other extraordinary artifact.

Then everything would at least have some explanation, but no, he was using nothing except his own fists, and somehow those fists contained overwhelming strength that completely shattered every bit of logic Elder Ting had ever known.

A deep flash of amusement and intense interest appeared within Elder Ting’s eyes as he continued watching the battle.

Even Li San himself was startled by Li Yu’s performance.

He already knew the kid possessed extraordinary talent... after all, he had awakened a Sacred Grade Spirit Root... and naturally, his strength should far surpass ordinary cultivators.

But even then, the gap shouldn’t have been this absurd; it shouldn’t have reached the point where he could casually fight across an entire major realm and completely wipe the floor with his opponent. Li San slowly shook his head: "This makes no sense..."

Then a helpless smile appeared on his face: "But what about that kid has ever made sense to begin with?" Thinking that, he finally relaxed; he simply wanted to see just how much more absurd this battle was going to become. The entire arena had fallen into a silence resembling a graveyard.

No one spoke, no one cheered, and no one even dared to blink too much; every single person was still trying to come to terms with what they were witnessing, trying to make sense of a scene that refused to make sense.

Everything they had known about cultivation, everything they believed to be absolute, and everything they accepted as common knowledge seemed to have been completely shattered before their eyes.

Shi Lan could hear nothing except his own rugged breathing; he could hear his own heartbeat racing wildly within his chest, and he wasn’t surprised by that, for he was genuinely terrified.

How could Li Yu possibly still be at the Qi Gathering Realm? It made absolutely no sense.

The only explanation Shi Lan could force himself to believe was that Li Yu was actually a peak Qi Refining cultivator hiding his true cultivation through some unknown method; that had to be it, it had to be, otherwise nothing made sense. Shi Lan’s thoughts raced wildly: "If this continues... I’m going to lose."

Then suddenly, Shi Tian’s words flashed through his mind; his entire body jolted violently. No one had spoken to him, no one had touched him, yet his heart, already beating like a drum, accelerated even further.

Shi Lan slowly closed his eyes, forcing himself to calm down: "I won’t die... I won’t die... As long as I don’t lose... I won’t die." He slowly opened his eyes once more; this time, they shone with absolute conviction.

He raised his head and looked toward Li Yu, who was standing there calmly, almost as if he had been patiently waiting for Shi Lan to get back on his feet so he could continue the beating. Shi Lan’s gaze sharpened; this Li Yu might indeed be terrifying, but compared to Shi Tian’s absolute terror, he was nothing.

Shi Lan stood up, and without holding anything back, he activated the enchantment of his gauntlet.

They were a spirit weapon, after all, and the only reason why he hadn’t used it against Li Xie was because he was too weak, and the reason he hadn’t used it against the Battle Princess was because he was certain he would be able to take the win without the need to use it.

And he was right. But right now, he wouldn’t have gone this far if he wasn’t certain that if things continued like this, then he stood a chance of losing this battle, which, in turn, could be interpreted as him losing his life.

So despite the fact that activating the enchantment of the Earth Grade Silver Rank Gauntlet on his hand would drain his qi reserves at an insane speed, it didn’t change the fact that this was his last hope of winning against Li Yu.

Shi Lan thought about all of this as his silver gauntlet released a warm glow, shining brightly. The enchantment on the gauntlet was a simple one, but its effect was anything but simple; when activated, every single one of Shi Lan’s strikes would increase by fifty percent.

That was a crazy boost, and with this, he could finally turn things around, he thought as he bent his body and charged forward, his qi surging to the brim while his entire body burned with strength.

In an instant, he appeared right before Li Yu and threw an earth-shattering punch, using one of his strongest combat arts... a punch capable of blasting off the head of a lower-stage cultivator within the same realm as him.

That alone showed just how much power was contained within the attack, and that power was further increased by fifty percent because of the gauntlet. The air seemed to collapse as the punch moved forward at terrifying speed toward Li Yu’s head.

"I have won," Shi Lan thought, his eyes gleaming. Perhaps if Li Yu had gone all out from the start, he wouldn’t have been able to gain the advantage he had until now, but now... it was over.

Bang! Boom! The sound of the air being crushed and the wind spreading out in chaotic patterns echoed across the arena. However, Shi Lan’s expression suddenly changed because he felt a hand grasp his punch; his eyes widened as he saw his hand being forcefully pulled to the side by Li Yu’s hand.

Pure shock filled his expression. His strongest punch... had been stopped with one hand. Li Yu looked at him with an emotionless expression before speaking: "You are right. This battle is over." As he said that, Li Yu’s hand moved; he grabbed forward and directly crushed Shi Lan’s hand.

A terrifying scream of pain escaped from Shi Lan’s throat as unimaginable pain shot through his nerves, but before he could even finish his scream, a punch forcefully silenced him.

Bang! His teeth collided violently against each other, blood spilling out as his body was sent flying backward. But while he was still in midair, Li Yu appeared above him and threw a spinning kick; the kick slammed directly into Shi Lan’s chest and sent him crashing down onto the stage with such brutal force that the entire arena trembled.

Shi Lan’s mouth opened as he coughed out an even larger mouthful of blood; his vision darkened. Then, Li Yu sat on his chest, his lips curling slightly: "Let’s begin."

Shi Lan’s mind was already drowning in chaos, unable to even understand what Li Yu meant, but the next moment, he felt another wave of unimaginable pain assault his body, almost causing him to black out; his second hand was also twisted in a horrifying manner.

Li Yu’s grin never disappeared as he shifted his attention to Shi Lan’s legs; with two quick punches carrying terrifying force, they were completely destroyed.

His bones bent unnaturally; Shi Lan screamed in pain once more, his entire body trembling from the agony of having his bones shattered like fragile twigs. Li Yu reached out and covered his mouth, signaling him to keep quiet; Shi Lan nodded immediately, fear filling his eyes.

"Good boy," Li Yu smiled. "Cracking your bones is fun, but we don’t want to startle the crowd watching before I even truly begin, do we?" Shi Lan shook his head repeatedly, his body trembling and his mind completely overwhelmed; Li Yu nodded: "Good boy. Now let’s move on."

Shi Lan took a few seconds to understand those words; then his mind descended into pure terror. "What... start?" Li Yu’s expression darkened: "I told you." His voice became colder: "I am going to beat you up. Really, really, very, totally, absolutely badly."

Shi Lan’s eyes widened; he wanted to cry for help: "Hel... " Before he could even finish the first syllable, Li Yu grabbed his mouth shut and slammed his head against the shattered stage with full force. Bang!

Shi Lan immediately passed out, but the next moment, he woke up; his entire body felt as if it had been struck repeatedly by world-breaking hammers at an insane speed.

His mind spun wildly as he wanted to scream once more, but once again, Li Yu grabbed his mouth before he could make a sound; then he smashed his head into the stage again. Bang! Shi Lan fainted, and the next second, he woke up into another world of unimaginable pain.

Li Yu demolished every single bone in Shi Lan’s body with terrifying precision and absolutely no mercy in his eyes; if anything, he was enjoying it. A grin appeared on his face as he crushed another rib with pure strength:

"I give u... " Before Shi Lan could speak again, Li Yu covered his mouth and smashed his head into the stage once more. Bang! He passed out, then woke up, only to experience another wave of pain.

This continued; Li Yu showed no mercy, and Shi Lan finally found someone who might actually be more terrifying than Shi Tian... this guy was also a devil. Several minutes passed. Soon, Li Yu finally stood up, leaving the broken body of Shi Lan behind.

Shi Lan was completely wrecked; he looked like a living corpse. Many people would have believed that he was already dead if not for the occasional weak breathing that escaped him.

Li Yu cracked his fingers; a warm and sincere smile appeared on his face as he looked around: "Alright. Who is next?"
