Ren Liangchen and Leng Hu struggled upward, with Yi Tianyun following slowly behind, continuously absorbing the energy. Soon, Yang Zhiwen groggily came to. He had completely passed out and only just now regained consciousness.

The moment he awoke, he found himself bound by Yi Tianyun and dangling from his body as they slowly scaled the cliff. It looked like an incredibly arduous task.

"Yi, what are you doing? Let me go! I’ll only drag you down!" Yang Zhiwen cried out in a feeble voice once he understood what was happening.

"Just hang there quietly and focus on recovering," Yi Tianyun said calmly. "Once you’re better, you can start climbing again. It’s that simple. We’re getting to the top in one go. We’re not doing this twice."

Yi Tianyun’s words stunned not only his companions but everyone watching from below as well. ’Succeed on the first try? How could he say something so idiotic?’

No one had ever seen anyone make it to the top on their first attempt. The only exception might be a supreme expert, someone at the Void Spirit level, but they refused to believe Yi Tianyun’s group possessed that kind of cultivation. ’If they were that powerful, why would they be heading to the Netherworld? They jeered, certain that if they couldn’t do it, Yi Tianyun’s group couldn’t either. To them, the outcome was already decided.

Ren Liangchen and the others, however, were deeply inspired by Yi Tianyun’s confidence. His words carried a weight that made it easy to trust him.

They immediately put more power into their ascent. Soon, however, Leng Hu started to lose his grip. While technique was required to scale the cliff, cultivation level was the fundamental support. That was why Yang Zhiwen had been the first to falter, and now Leng Hu was next.

With every few feet he climbed, the intensity of the energy surging from the cliff would increase. That was the greatest difficulty of this trial.

This scene left the onlookers completely stunned. Climbing while carrying one person was already daunting enough, but now he was trying to carry two!

"If he climbs another hundred feet, he’s guaranteed to fall! Carrying two people at once is suicide!"

Yang Zhiwen and Leng Hu fell silent, a new determination glinting in their eyes. They each pulled out Elixir Pills, stuffed them in their mouths, and began to recover as quickly as they could. ’It’s just as Yi said. If we have the energy to talk, we should be using it to recover!’

Ren Liangchen glanced over at them, then gritted his teeth and continued climbing, hoping to get just a little higher. He scaled the cliff inch by inch, and Yi Tianyun matched his pace perfectly, following just behind him like a diligent minder.

Yang Zhiwen swung his body over and grabbed onto the cliff. The sudden blast of energy almost made him lose his grip again. But he fought back against the dark energy and pushed himself upward. He was actually able to keep climbing.

He knew he wouldn’t last for long, but at the very least, he didn’t want to be a dead weight that Yi Tianyun had to carry.

With Yang Zhiwen off him, the pressure on Yi Tianyun immediately lessened. As long as someone was climbing on their own, the energy they attracted wouldn’t be stacked onto him.

Soon, Leng Hu was ready as well. Without a word, he simply swung over and resumed climbing. He didn’t even say a single word, knowing that actions spoke louder than words.

"Ugh..." Ren Liangchen finally reached his limit. He fell, only to be caught by Yi Tianyun, who pulled him in and secured him to his body.

Now he was truly supporting three people at once. Or he would be, as soon as the other two lost their grip again.

That situation didn’t last long. The pressure higher up was far more intense, and Yang Zhiwen once again couldn’t take it. His hands slipped, and he fell, caught once more by Yi Tianyun’s ropes.

The same thing happened to Leng Hu. He slipped and was caught, joining the others being hauled up by Yi Tianyun.

Now, all three of them were being carried by Yi Tianyun. They had all reached their absolute limits, but their performance had been remarkable. Climbing six or seven hundred feet was an incredible achievement, better than many of the Core Formation Stage experts in the crowd!

’Very good,’ Yi Tianyun thought. ’Now it’s my turn.’ He began to climb, neither too fast nor too slow, ascending steadily, ten feet at a time.

The crowd below watched, completely dumbfounded. Yi Tianyun was actually climbing with three people in tow, and he was maintaining a constant speed. They were stunned. When they saw he still seemed to be doing it with ease, they felt so exasperated they could have coughed up blood.

"What is going on? Can he really handle the pressure of three people and keep climbing?"

"This is impossible... Is he actually going to make it all the way to the top?"

"I wish I were his companion... how great would it be to get carried to the top like that..."

The shock in their hearts was indescribable. This was especially true for Lu Feng, who had initially thought Yi Tianyun was reckless and ignorant. He now realized that they were the ones who had been truly ignorant and foolish.
