Chapter 938
Chapter 938
Anton was scolded by Lemuel when his tutor asked whether he had read the Spatial Magic Meditation book, and he admitted that he had not.
He had simply forgotten.
Anton knew that his Initiate Traveler teacher forgave him almost immediately because he had invited Lemuel to the movie screening scheduled for the following week. Apparently, Maura had only invited their batchmates, all of whom were Novices.
Anton hadn’t expected the travelers to be interested in his movies like ordinary people. He had assumed that because travelers were accustomed to seeing different things from different places, including recordings from other worlds, movies wouldn’t attract much attention.
He realized he had been mistaken.
Only travelers who had reached the Journeyman Rank could begin traveling to other worlds, while only those who had reached the Adept Rank could travel to different dimensions.
That meant new members and lower-ranking travelers of Traveler’s Haven would naturally be interested in anything that offered them a glimpse into the lives of people from other worlds and dimensions, even if those glimpses weren’t real and had been created solely for entertainment.
Because Anton hadn’t read the book, Lemuel spent the first hour of their lesson having him read the first few chapters. They would then discuss what he had read.
After the lesson, which lasted three hours, Anton had to admit that he had learned a great deal. He couldn’t wait to return to his room, read the entire Spatial Magic Meditation book, and begin the actual meditation.
Once he reached his room, Anton didn’t delay any longer. He immediately began reading the first part of the book Vernatu had given him.
He was glad that the next few lessons would focus solely on Spatial Magic Meditation, meaning he didn’t have to worry about reading the four spellbooks Vernatu had also given him just yet.
After several hours of reading and contemplating the contents of Spatial Magic Meditation, Anton began the actual meditation.
According to the book Lemuel had recommended, a novice would normally need a couple of weeks to learn the first circle of the meditation array used in Spatial Magic Meditation.
Anton had never considered himself a genius, so he assumed his rate of learning the meditation array would be similar to that of an average novice.
However, he did have an advantage.
He was certain that the Paladin’s Meditation Aura would greatly accelerate the rate at which he learned the Spatial Magic Meditation array.
He briefly considered testing his learning speed without the Meditation Aura first, but after thinking about it, Anton decided that doing so would only waste time.
The moment he began memorizing the first circle and meditating on it, he would immediately activate the Meditation Aura of his Paladin character.
Anton became so engrossed in his studies that he barely left his room over the next few days, aside from attending his lessons with Lemuel.
The only interruption he allowed himself was a one-hour meeting with Anders and Anna inside the game.
He also met with Paul and Eric inside their game for a few minutes.
He wasn’t surprised when he saw that they had deleted their previous characters and started new ones. Both had chosen the Sorceress class because they were intrigued by the spells that the Sorceress could cast.
Anton realized that Paul and Eric were still treating their access to his Diablo II system as a game rather than as a means of increasing their power.
This became even more obvious when they said that once they grew tired of playing the Sorceress, they planned to test the other classes.
When Anton asked about their need to become powerful wizards, especially since their families would eventually send them to other kingdoms to expand the Sunder Family’s cinema business, both of them said they would simply rely on their wizardry ranks and spells for protection.
Anton shrugged and let them be.
It didn’t really matter if they played around with Anton’s Diablo System. They were correct in thinking that they didn’t need to become extremely powerful in a short amount of time.
Unlike before, when the threat of the Undead Coalition loomed over them, they now had time to enjoy their lives.
Even Anders let them be, since Anton’s father believed they could become like Kirk and the others and serve as the family’s wizards. They didn’t necessarily need the additional strength Anton’s Diablo System could provide.
“Besides, both Paul and Eric are young. I’ll just let them enjoy themselves,” Anders told Anton.
Paul and Eric’s father had become busy integrating himself into the family businesses as a tailor and blacksmith, while their wives and children remained at Rose Manor.
Anders amusingly told Anton that Paul and Eric’s siblings had been horrified when they learned they would undergo the education Raymond, the family butler, had planned for them.
Even their mothers had been instructed by Raymond and Ramona to study under the tutors they had hired.
Apparently, Raymond intended to turn Paul and Eric’s siblings into proper nobles, or at least teach them the behavior and etiquette expected of one.
That greatly amused Anton.
He remembered when Raymond had tried to force both him and Anna to undergo the same lessons, only for the siblings to ignore the family butler.
Both Anton and Anna knew they could get away with lacking proper noble etiquette simply because they had become powerful wizards. In the Gale Continent, powerful wizards were practically a rank of their own.
Lemuel was flabbergasted when he saw that Anton had already learned and begun meditating on the first circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation array.
However, his tutor accepted it almost immediately, especially given Anton’s reputation as a genius.
After all, Anton had become a Supreme Rank wizard at the age of nineteen.
Because of how quickly he had learned the meditation array, Anton knew that his theory about the Paladin’s Meditation Aura was correct. It was allowing him to learn the array at an extraordinarily fast pace.
After several days of learning and meditating on the first circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation array, the shadow of the first circle had formed in his mind.
Lemuel explained that once the first circle had solidified, Anton could begin learning and meditating on the second circle.
An average novice would need roughly two or three months to solidify the first circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation array. However, based on Anton’s learning and meditation speed with the assistance of his Paladin’s Meditation Aura, Lemuel estimated that Anton would be able to solidify the first circle in only a week.
Anton had already read the four spellbooks containing the spells Blink, Gate, Spatial Stabilizer, and Spatial Coordinate Determination.
He hadn’t memorized them yet because he was focused on the Spatial Magic Meditation array, but after reading the spellbooks, he knew he wouldn’t have any difficulty learning them. They were fundamentally similar to the other spellbooks he had studied before.
Lemuel had also told him that once the first circle of the Spatial Meditation Array had solidified in his mind, he would be able to memorize and cast spatial spells in an extremely short amount of time.
Because of that, Anton wasn’t worried about encountering any delays in mastering the spells.
While he was meditating, Anton heard someone knocking on his door.
When he opened it, he saw Maura and several of his batchmates standing outside.
“It’s the day we scheduled the movie showing,” Maura said when Anton asked what they needed.
Anton was slightly surprised.
Apparently, the days had passed without him noticing.
He asked for a few minutes to prepare. After cleaning himself up, he followed his batchmates to the room where the temporary cinema had been set up.
