My First Trip was to Another World
Apostolic Apprentice 4
It was us who participated in the church cookout, but we were too unsolicited and confused than usual. Everyone else seems confused, not just me.
The main cause is because the Church pushes their ways and rules. I have no freedom at all and am very cramped. Not fun at all.
We are divided into three groups, each on a platform. Me and Lily, assigned to the venue setup clerk, got some free time after the setup. What should I do next......
"Hey, what's next?
The owner's uncle came back after the handover to the cook, so I immediately asked.
"Wait a while."
Uncle answers by lowering his mouth angle. Looks a little grumpy. Do you want to say that I don't even have to answer?
Luna and Claire were assigned to the cook. Three, including an aunt from church. I don't know how many people prepare the dishes, but I think it's tough for just the three of us. All I can do is use it for a little while, but I can still help a little.
"You're not going to help?
"Stand by."
"We're free. Mind if I join the informer?
If you can't get your hands on cooking, you can help the informer. Today's cookout is a quick decision, so it's actually a pretty important task. I wish I could, but I can't believe nobody's coming, 'cause I miss you too much.
The informer is headed by Leeds and a young man from the church. Leeds is pretty worried, so you should think he's practically doing it alone.
It was the uncle of the church who decided to share. He knows nothing about Leeds. Leeds doesn't...... because when it helps, it works five times more than people, but it's like a bacci. Because it's the same as staying here if it doesn't help.
Besides, anyone can do it if you just give them an announcement, and no matter how many people you have, you shouldn't have any trouble.
"No, that's troubling too"
You're dismissing this too...
"Then what am I supposed to do?"
It got a little harsh, and I accidentally vandalized my voice.
"There are no guards today, so we'll take care of them."
"Security? Does it make sense to guard?
It's a slum street around here, but it shouldn't be as insecure as it needs security.
"If someone doesn't guard, the kids will stumble."
... that would be an obstacle to the work, but I don't think that's such a bad thing. No, isn't that a good thing?
It's going to be a free assignment, but I'm smudging myself that giving this guy an opinion won't produce anything. Now let's be honest with you.
"I get it. You just have to watch out for the kids."
"That's not all, but that's generally fine. Best regards,"
Hitting security are my uncle who set up the venue, me and Mr. Lily. Each stands alone in the corner of the venue and guards the perimeter. Honestly, I don't feel the need at all. Just blurry up.
We've been camping on monsters for a long time... Vigilance in a city like this is something you can do even when you're asleep. We're on constant alert for signs, so as soon as someone approaches us maliciously, we'll know.
Well, it doesn't work for people who get close and get in the way without malice. Should I be vigilant about such people?
I've been on alert for a while, but people aren't getting close. It's more like being avoided. Kids are sneezing around fine around here, but they don't try to get close to us.
The children make the moss grown in the shade look like a skating rink, slipping and playing. It looks like nothing has changed since then.
"Whoa! Sister, you're awesome!
I hear children from afar. Can't the kids afford to worry about this one because they're obsessed with playing or not interested in cooking it out in the first place...... The purpose of 'making the venue stand out', which the Church was after, seems brilliantly empty.
Then all of a sudden, an adult yell sounded as if to cancel the children's voices.
"What are you doing!
When I look you in surprise, I realize that the Lord of that voice was a young man sent by the Church.
And there's a look of Leeds slipping on moss mixed with the kids......
Leeds ignores the young man and hi-touches with the children. Sounds fun and most importantly. I wonder if my mental age is close...... Well, I'd like to get mixed up a little too.
Ah... I got eyes for a young man. The young man, ignored by Leeds, came to me as if seeking help.
"I'm afraid I'm on a mission. Could you stop her?
"Huh? Why?
"What? We're not here to see you. It's troublesome to be reckless."
The young man answered with a Kyotong face. I think playing mixed up with kids is also a fine PR activity, but the church doesn't like it.
Playing with children is not a bad thing. I guess I should be more aggressive than that. The task entrusted to Leeds is to bring people together by the start of cooking. If we stay close to the children around us, we can bring that family.
"It's his PR campaign. People can get together."
"Engagement with residents can cause problems. Don't get involved inadvertently."
The young man answered looking troublesome. Seems like the best reason.
Indeed, the risk of trouble can be reduced if we are not involved. But I don't think that's what we should do until we throw away all the benefits we get from getting involved.
"You don't have to stop me. If something goes wrong, you just have to think about it then."
"Who thinks? Who's responsible? Don't take it personally, follow the rules."
It's the rules again... Whatever it is, you think we should tie it up with rules?
"We can all think about it, and we all have responsibilities. I think it's one of us."
"Who can be convinced of such insanity? It's my responsibility, so follow my decision."
The young man says with a fed up look on his face.
Don't get caught up in the word insanity. The common sense of the Church doesn't mesh with my common sense. The Church only tries to move according to the manual and has no awareness at all of trying to respond ad hoc.
This guy will never bend his opinion, so it's just a waste of time talking like this...... I have no choice, do you want to go?
I rushed up near Leeds and called out to him.
"Leeds, if you're going to play, play a little quieter. Stand out when you shout"
The point is, if we don't find out, we'll be fine.
"Hmmm...... hard but I'll try my best!
and Leeds answering aloud. They put on an extremely difficult order. I don't think it's going to be okay... okay.
"I'll call you when I can cook, so we'll have the kids together by then."
"Yes!"
Leeds answered well and rushed out vigorously, slipping and showing Tsee in front of the children. I hear children cheering from afar. Leeds apparently mastered moss (...) slip (...) ri (...) in this short period of time. I wonder if this skill will be useful elsewhere......
Probably enough notice. Leeds brings the children and their families on his own. The fear that people might not get together is now almost gone. Next up is cooking. Luna and the cooks are getting ready, but what about the situation?
As we returned to the holding area, we moved to the vicinity of the cooking area. It's a ride to Leeds' commotion because he'll complain to his uncle if he moves openly.
The ingredients prepared today are large quantities of meat and a few vegetables. It's all ours. If I didn't eat it fast, it was going to rot, so I brought all of it all by myself. If you're going to run out of all this ingredient, it's probably going to be for dozens of people. It's up to the three of us to decide how to use it.
I stood in a position where I could hear the cooking area and watched the cooking.
"... Isn't it overcooked?
"That's not true. Because it's hard to get it out raw and belly down."
"Still, it kind of looks... It's like dried meat, isn't it?
Looks like Luna and her aunt are arguing. I guess the cooking is going on at my aunt's initiative. Just like setting up a venue, Luna and Claire seem to follow the Church's way.
"That's just about it. If you doubt it, would you like a taste?"
"... yummy! It's not Katch Katch's Passa Passa...... It tastes thin, and it's a failure."
Claire's voice. Claire doesn't see much complaining about the food, but I wonder how unsavory it was today.
"What are you talking about? This would be normal. Aren't you using too much precious salt?
I can't help but taste thin. It takes a lot of work and money to make salt in Arencia, so the common people can't use it much. By that standard, maybe we use too much salt. That's what I can do because I'm buying rock salt cheap in Milgia. Difficult in Alencia.
"The problem is not just salt. I knew it wasn't overcooked..."
Now it's Luna. Sounds pretty unsavory. When they say that, you're curious the other way around.
Get close to the three of you and speak up.
"Can I give you a taste?
Then Claire turned around and answered with a true face. From that look, it can be seen that things are serious.
"Ah, Coe. Try it, too. Because it's awful."
Claire gave me a slice of meat. "Do something unsolicited..." the aunt muttered and tried to stop, ignoring it and throwing the meat she had been given into her mouth.
The feeling of biting rubber is transmitted to the teeth.... gravy is missing. The moisture in my mouth was taken by gossip. It looks like all the fat from the meat has fallen off and only the fiber is concentrated. The original smell and unpleasance of meat spreads all over my mouth.
"... Has the flavor evaporated?
"Hey...... how to say it! What are you talking about?"
A grin spilled out of Luna's face as Claire said as she bit her laugh to death.
"Hehe... I guess so"
Looks like Luna sympathized with me.
"What is it from earlier! If you guys have so much to complain about, you can do it on your own!
What's not funny is the cook's aunt. I shouted grumpy. What a thankful offer.
"I'll let you do that. Luna, can you do something about this fucking unsavory meat?
"... it's okay. Leave it to me!
Luna answers with an anxious face. This meat felt pretty late, but they're gonna do something about it.
"Sorry, please."
"Huh? Are you sure?
While Claire says so, she gives her aunt a look. Sending her gaze to her aunt to go with it, the aunt was staring at this one with a grumpy bite in her back teeth.
"They told me to do it on my own, so I just would. Never mind."
An unsavory meal makes people unhappy. I don't mind if it doesn't taste good if I eat it, but this is food offered to an unspecified number of people. Handing out unsavory things is just like handing out misfortune. Just because it's free doesn't mean anything's okay.
"Well? Then that's fine... I'll help."
Claire said with a complex look on her face, gripping the knife that had been placed on the slab.
My aunt is shaking her right leg into small pieces just a step back. Looks like he's poorly slammed while standing clever. My aunt seems to be caustic and unwilling to do anything about it. It looks like Luna and Claire will be the only ones doing the work.
Luna and I know it's gonna be tough, but I guess that's better.
Don't get busy in the cooking area. I left this place and went back to where I used to be because it would only get in the way where I helped.
Another while, boring security. He stood in the corner of a peaceful city where nothing would happen and continued to stand on the bar of what he called security.
I hear Leeds roar from afar...... I told you to play quietly. The young man who is supposed to watch out for Leeds is walking around the area where he should be hearing voices. I seem to have given up on Leeds. Yeah, that's right.
But dall. I've enjoyed doing any kind of work since I came to this world, but for the first time, I thought it was a dall. Were the two apostles being made to do such dally things... On the other hand, I am glad I am not an apostle, and I sincerely sympathize with the two apostles.
It's stressful today. It's somewhat unfortunate, but let's cut it up and go home early today.
