Byeol really wanted to slaughter every last one of them!

The zombies remained completely unaware of anything, they tirelessly slamming themselves against the iron gate over and over again.

The smell of blood continuously stimulated their senses.

Unless that scent was covered up, they would remain here indefinitely instead of dispersing after surrounding the area for a while like they normally did.

The instinct for evolution surging within their bodies was telling them that an excellent source of evolutionary energy existed inside.

Because of that, the urgent roars never stopped, making it impossible for any living creature nearby to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.

Byeol flattened its ears slightly as its sharp claws slid out into the open air, itching to strike.

Its beautiful cat eyes flashed with fierce light in the darkness.

Just as it was about to jump down and give each of them a few swipes, Byeol looked at the tireless horde of zombies and suddenly came up with an excellent idea.

Pets actually possess very strong learning abilities.

The only difference is whether or not they want to learn.

At least before the apocalypse, simply by observing Joo Joowon’s actions every day, Byeol had already learned how to use the toilet and flush afterward, how to open doors and windows, how to open cabinets to steal snacks, and many other things.

Now, however, Byeol’s intelligence had undergone a qualitative leap.

As it looked at the zombies, an image suddenly surfaced in its mind of Joo Joowon using spider silk to drag supplies around.

Weren’t these two legged creatures, although somewhat different from Joo Joowon, perfectly suited to replacing that labor role?

Thinking of this, Byeol jumped down from the wall and rushed toward the seafood shop in search of rope.

According to its memories, every two legged creature’s home contained this kind of thing.

Very quickly, Byeol dragged a rope over to the gate in its mouth. Then it suddenly froze and began staring blankly at it.

How exactly was rope supposed to be tied?

It lowered its head and looked at its slightly damp paws.

Although Byeol had been tied up with ropes before, and had often somehow managed to accidentally tangle itself up in them while playing, that did not mean it had become skilled at actually using rope.

"Meow~"

Following Byeol’s example, Hwi dragged over a fishing net that it had found and dropped it in front of Byeol.

Byeol’s eyes immediately lit up, and it gave Hwi an approving look.

Byeol recognized this thing.

In the past, it had seen two legged creatures use this tool to catch members of its own species.

Out of all the cats, only Byeol had never allowed those hateful two legged creatures to succeed.

Byeol picked up the green fishing net and threw it over the crab, then signaled for Hwi to come over and lift the crab up slightly.

Byeol lowered its head and pulled the net underneath, completely wrapping the crab inside it.

The green nylon rope was thick and durable, it was capable of supporting tremendous weight while also resisting wear and tear.

After covering the crab, Byeol bit down on the other end of the rope and began thinking again.

So now the question became... How exactly was it supposed to tie the rope onto the zombies?

The first rule of a successful hunt is to avoid getting injured yourself.

Cats never hunt creatures several times larger than themselves, nor do they allow themselves to become trapped in crowds with no way out.

If they pulled the rope from the wall above, would the crab end up hanging in the air, or would it get stuck halfway like Hwi had just done?

Byeol thought as hard as it could.

Byeol fell into deep contemplation... After thinking for a long time, Byeol’s gaze slowly shifted back onto Hwi.

"Meow?"

"Meow~ Meow! Meow!"

Hwi stared at Byeol blankly.

"Meow?"

Byeol became so annoyed that it immediately unleashed a barrage of cat punches on Hwi.

Hwi flattened its ears and raised its head to stare at Byeol, looking both aggrieved and unconvinced.

Weren’t cat sounds supposed to be for communicating with two legged creatures?

How was Hwi supposed to understand any of that?

Byeol irritably flicked its tail.

The fluffy tail repeatedly slapped against the ground until it had become slightly dusty and gray.

Since Hwi was clearly useless in this situation, Byeol had no choice but to handle things itself.

While holding the rope in its mouth, Byeol walked over to the gap beneath the gate.

Under the endless impacts from the zombies, the iron gate had already been bent into a V shape.

Byeol was certain that if the roaring zombies attracted even more zombies to the area, this old and poorly maintained gate would not hold for much longer.

Byeol stretched out its paw and pushed the green nylon rope through the gap under the gate.

The area outside the gate was packed with zombie legs.

The zombies in the front row had already been crushed and deformed by the pressure from the zombies behind them.

Foul smelling black blood dripped down the rusty red iron gate and splashed onto Byeol’s snow white paws no matter how hard it tried to avoid it.

But Byeol couldn’t simply jump down from above.

Although cats were liquid, in a situation where zombies were packed tightly together, the upper sections of the crowd were far more crowded than the lower sections.

The zombies closest to the gate had already been squeezed so badly that their bones had cracked and they had nearly turned into flattened pancakes.

That alone was enough evidence.

Byeol thought about the human slave waiting back home and then crawled through the narrow gap beneath the gate.

It hooked the rope with its paw and began circling around between the zombies’ legs.

Cats are creatures that excel at stealth.

They land without making a sound and strike with incredible speed.

Combined with the overwhelming scent of prey coming from inside the market, the zombies, whose bodily sensitivity was practically nonexistent, failed to notice Byeol’s actions entirely.
