Back at home, a TV show was playing on the large screen of the living room’s LCD television.
His mother, Lin Yufang, and his father, Ye Guozhong, were sitting on the sofa, cracking melon seeds as they watched.
The show was a cartoon, Pleasant Goat and Big Gray Wolf. Onscreen, Big Gray Wolf was getting viciously whacked with a frying pan by his wife.
The couple was watching, but it was mostly just to pass the time. Though their eyes were on the screen, their minds were really on what they were talking about.

"What? A blind date?" Ye Xing stared blankly for a second, then said with exasperation, "Mom, Dad, didn’t I tell you? You should just be at home enjoying a quiet life. Why are you setting up blind dates and worrying about me for no reason? I’m not going!"
Ye Xing felt a massive headache coming on. His parents’ nagging was relentless. He really didn’t want to go on some blind date, especially since he already had a girlfriend. Given how perfect Mengxue was, Ye Xing didn’t believe there was a single woman in the world who could be better. He was already incredibly satisfied to be with a celestial beauty like her, and the two of them were truly in love. All he wanted now was to raise his strength, break through to the Innate Realm, gain enough power, and then head to Celestial Snow Mountain to reunite with his Little Mengmeng as soon as possible.
"What kind of attitude is that? Are you trying to make us angry on purpose?!" Ye Guozhong boomed. "Four o’clock this afternoon. Dior Cafe. The table is already booked. "Axing, just listen to us. Your father and I are only doing this for your own good," Lin Yufang coaxed. "I’ve seen the girl. She’s very pretty—much prettier than that Qianqian girl—and she’s a student at a prestigious university. I guarantee you’ll be pleased this time!"
Watching his parents play good cop, bad cop, Ye Xing was left speechless. But what could he do? He was their only son, and they were clearly pulling out all the stops to get a grandchild as soon as possible.
If he really refused, his parents would probably get furious. Knowing his dad’s temper, he might actually grab a whip and chase him down the street, and that would be beyond embarrassing.
