"I’m cultivating my Inner Strength! Haha, Xia Girl, you’re just in time. I have a question for you!" Ye Xing asked at once. "I’ve been cultivating according to this Internal Cultivation Method for over a month now, so why haven’t I produced any True Qi?"

"Hehe, so you’re actually trying to cultivate Inner Strength? What Secret Manual are you practicing?" the girl in the red dress asked.

"Heh heh, it’s the *Basic Breathing and Exhaling Technique*," Ye Xing said with a dry laugh.

"Pfft!" The girl in the red dress stifled a laugh. "A Yellow-tier Low-grade Manual? And you expect to produce True Qi with it? Haha, and it’s the absolute worst one of them all! With the *Basic Breathing and Exhaling Technique*, even a child under ten, at the peak age for cultivation, would need at least half a year to produce any True Qi. As for you... haha, I’m sure you’ll manage it too—when pigs fly."

"Is it really that difficult?" Ye Xing asked with a bitter smile.

"Obviously! The Path of Martial Arts is full of hardships. Breathing techniques require years upon years of practice before you can even hope to absorb some of the world’s Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi and condense it into True Qi." Xia Girl rolled her eyes. "Did you think you could just grab a Secret Manual and instantly become a Martial Artist? You wish!"

"But I feel like my constitution is improving every day. I could take down five or six grown men by myself now, no problem," Ye Xing said.

"You can already take on five people at once? Your progress seems pretty good." The girl in the red dress sounded surprised. "Actually, before becoming a Martial Artist, there’s a transitional phase called the Body Refining Stage. It’s the stage between an ordinary person and a Martial Artist. Someone in the Body Refining Stage has far greater strength and agility than a normal person. You’re probably in that stage right now, I’d say around the mid-to-late Body Refining Stage."

After a brief pause, the girl in the red dress asked in surprise, "Normally, it’s impossible to improve this quickly just by cultivating the *Basic Breathing and Exhaling Technique*. You must be eating a lot of Spirit Pills and Demon Beast Meat, right?"

"Haha, you know it! I eat Demon Beast Meat every meal. It’s nutritious and delicious!" Ye Xing laughed. Over the past month, he had eaten Demon Beast Meat for all three meals a day, spending eighty or ninety Gold Coins on it already.

"No wonder you’re improving so quickly. The Path of Martial Arts consumes a massive amount of resources. I didn’t realize you were so wealthy," the girl in the red dress said.

"But of course. I’m a future tycoon, you know."

"Listen to you, showing off. If you have the spare cash, why not buy a Yellow-tier Top-grade Secret Manual?" Xia Girl asked, puzzled.

"Ahem, cash is a little tight right now. I just had a huge mansion built, you see," Ye Xing said. "My place is almost finished. You should come hang out when you’re free!"

"Hmph. What’s so fun about your place? I’m not going," Xia Girl said, pouting.

"My place has more fun stuff than you can imagine. My only worry is that you’ll show up and then refuse to leave," Ye Xing said proudly.

"I’m not wasting my breath on you!" Xia Girl rolled her eyes. "Anyway, are you free right now? That musical instrument you gave my young miss seems to be broken. She was listening to it, and it suddenly went silent."

"It probably just ran out of battery. I’ll go with you and take a look." Ye Xing immediately stood up and started walking toward the mountain path behind them.

"Why take the mountain path? That’s such a hassle. Wouldn’t it be faster to just go down from here?" Xia Girl pointed down the cliff, a wicked grin spreading across her face. Her ink-dark eyes darted about, clearly scheming.

"Are you kidding me? That’s over thirty meters high! I’d be splattered to death if I jumped." Ye Xing’s gaze grew wary. ’I have a bad feeling about this.’ He quickly turned and ran for the mountain path.

However, he had only taken a few steps before his body suddenly felt light, his feet lifting off the ground.

"Hehe, you won’t fall. I’ll carry you down! Don’t be scared! This will be fun!" The girl in the red dress grabbed the collar on the back of Ye Xing’s shirt, pushed off the ground, and with a WHOOSH, she carried him as she floated down the cliff face.

"I’m afraid of heights! I don’t wanna go bungee jumping! AHH! AHH!"

The wind roared past his ears. Ye Xing felt himself plummeting, his heart about to leap out of his throat. In a panic, his hands flew out and wrapped tightly around the warm, slender waist beside him.

"Ah! You damn pervert, what are you doing?! Let go of me!" a girl’s voice, utterly flustered and furious, shrieked next to his ear.

The girl in the red dress struggled nonstop, but in his terror, Ye Xing only held on tighter.

"Don’t move! I’m just holding on! I don’t want to be splattered on the ground!"

"You’re not going to fall! I’m holding onto your shirt! Now let go, you damn pervert!"

WHOOSH! WHOOSH WHOOSH!

The wind howled past. Though it was a drop of over thirty meters, they landed in just a few moments. They touched down right in front of the mansion’s main gate, where many workers were staring at them.

"Are you going to let go or not?!" The girl’s pretty face was bright red, a mixture of shame and fury. Her hand went to the hilt of the longsword at her waist.

"Whoa, Xia Girl, you can’t blame me for this. You’re the one who tried to prank me! I wasn’t trying to take advantage of you, heh heh." Ye Xing hurriedly changed the subject. "Oh, right! Didn’t you say your young miss’s MP3 is broken? Come on, let’s go! We should get it fixed. We can’t keep your young miss waiting!"

Before the words were even out of his mouth, Ye Xing shot off like an arrow, sprinting in the direction of Immortal Spring Manor.

"Damn pervert! He’s fast!" The girl in the red dress stomped her foot in frustration and ran after him.
