"This is what your Brother Che wants. Talk to the warehouse manager about creating a points exchange system for supplies. Of course, it’s not for everyone, but for her—a data standard for exchanging supplies." Flying Tiger gestured for them to leave after giving her order.
"Flying Tiger Sister, this child is so young..." The man hesitantly looked at Yi, then at the resigned look on Flying Tiger’s face.
"What is this? It’s far removed from what she wants to experience." Flying Tiger looked at Yi, feeling she wasn’t in a position to persuade.
She felt that being able to keep Yi here was her greatest kindness.
After hearing, the man didn’t say more, "Just leave it to me, I’ll make the arrangements."
"Let’s go, come with me and remember not to touch the white crystals you see by the road." The man spoke while leading the way.
When he turned and Flying Tiger was no longer visible, he looked at Yi, who was only chest height, "I really can’t figure out what’s troubling you, such a little girl."
"Although one could lie flat here, seeing you, I can tell you won’t settle for mediocrity." Clearly, he could see the determination in Yi’s eyes; her resolve to be strong was far greater than theirs.
Most of them just wanted to survive, but this child seemed to want to grow stronger.
"Working here is quite straightforward, just constructing buildings the Lord requires." He led Yi into the residential area.
Looking around, various buildings were mostly completed, the massive Ferris wheel, and roller coasters that cut through mountains were astonishingly large.
It had the feel of experiencing all the local scenery on one thrilling ride.
Very simple tasks.
In the past, seeing these tasks, he’d think they demanded more pay, but now he found them easy.
No need for life-risking efforts, just diligently complete the tasks from the Lord and you can grow stronger.
Though tedious, it’s simple.
Yi was silent, having watched Ren Fengxiang for years and listened to his stories.
Now given an opportunity to stand tall like her idol, she wouldn’t miss out for anything.
"Alright, we’ve arrived. Those residences are empty, pick one you like and move right in."
"Inside, there’s already a supply of daily necessities, and for meals, just head to the canteen. The canteen is over there..." He pointed east as he explained to Yi.
Yet, just as he extended his finger, he withdrew it.
Flying Tiger had just mentioned not to easily give her food; anything she wants must be exchanged using points.
Yi lowered her head, contemplating how to earn points, when the warehouse manager ran over rapidly.
He quickly handed Yi a booklet.
"Time is tight, so I’ve just made a simple plan. Let’s start with this data for now; once I refine it, we can adjust." The warehouse manager handed Yi the booklet and exhaled in relief.
Yi opened it, wanting to prove herself; now with legs, she could do even better.
"Cleaning the canteen is a way to earn money, as is tidying up construction debris."
She reviewed the content, allowing herself to breathe easier.
Earning is good; as long as she can earn, she can surely support herself and do better.
As she read more, her brow furrowed deeply.
"Cleaning the canteen for a day and washing the dishes only earns three points." She immediately frowned at this.
"Three points aren’t few. Ideally, it should be one point." The warehouse manager helplessly noted, "It’s because everyone eats every meal; if strictly based on workload, it’d just be one point."
And here, one point only buys one meal.
The more Yi read, the more she felt Jiang Che was targeting her.
Seeing her furrowed brow deepen, the man who brought her over leaned to look.
"Does it seem unreasonable?" He glared at the warehouse manager, "Being so harsh to a child?"
"Where would I dare? The top has ordered all data to be fair and just; I wouldn’t dare target anyone specifically," the warehouse manager lamented.
But seeing the contents, the man’s furrowed brow relaxed.
"This seems fair." This is a thousand-seater canteen; even cleaning up would be about a thousand per meal, plus pots, pans, ladles, and bowls; he found the exchange rate quite reasonable.
"What about energy spheres?" Yi asked after realizing cleaning could only exchange for daily food, bringing the energy sphere question.
Before coming, Jiang Che said one could obtain energy spheres by working here and thus grow stronger.
If she could strengthen herself, wouldn’t it prove her ability to endure hardships?
"Energy spheres for that kind of work?" The man bringing her laughed incredulously, suddenly understanding the arrangement.
"You’re misunderstanding one thing."
"Working here earning energy spheres doesn’t mean they are meant for you."
"Surviving here is a benefit; extra food is welfare, and energy spheres are entirely the Lord’s grace." The man snorted.
"To earn energy spheres, you need to show your value, do valuable work." He pointed to the soaring mountains and the crisscrossing tracks for Yi’s puzzled eyes.
"Look, all these are made by us."
"This is valuable work."
Yi was momentarily bewildered. She thought these structures simply existed, not realizing they were built here.
"But he previously said playing with his daughter earns me energy spheres."
"Is raising and playing with his daughter valuable work?" Yi queried, confused.
"Yes, those are valuable tasks." The warehouse manager pointed afar; they knew everything here was constructed by Jiang Che for his family.
"Alright, I have to get busy; figure out the rules and explore for yourself." The warehouse manager shook his head as he left, followed by the man who brought Yi.
Only Yi remained, staring at the tracks weaving above her.
Elsewhere, Cao Yong followed Ren Fengxiang, only realizing from distance he hadn’t returned the box to Jiang Che.
"Mr. Ren, this belongs to Mr. Jiang; I forgot to return it to him." He was somewhat anxious.
Ren Fengxiang took the box and opened it to find a wilted bouquet inside.
"Oh, leave it with me." Ren Fengxiang took it, finding the bouquet familiar but couldn’t recall.
"Do you know why I brought you here?"
