My Human Identity Was Exposed by an Evil Spirit Wife

Chapter 276: I Won’t Allow You to Speak Ill of the Lord Either!

[Looks like these Lords really have no clue about their own territories. Suffering here or suffering somewhere else—is there any real difference?]

[I finally got used to this place. Being watched when I piss or shower doesn’t even embarrass me anymore. Now you want me to switch territories? Sorry, I’ve already lost all my dignity.]

[I’m already used to the pain. Why would I head over to your place just to be humiliated?]

[Physical or mental pain—just one is enough, thanks. This rule really overestimates us all.]

...

Below this batch of rules, the comments section was filled with mocking from all corners of the net.

Everyone thought it was just ridiculous—right now, there’s no difference between the territories for them.

[Only these Lords treat their own turf like some treasure.]

Just as everyone was getting into the roast, another message popped up.

[Starting now, transportation will open up between territories. You can pay the fare to take transit and leave your current territory for a short time.]

The crowd, still midway in their tirade, all froze at this new message.

"What?"

"Transportation?"

"Nah, man, I recognize every word in that sentence, so why can’t I make sense of them all together?"

...

Leng Feng didn’t bother to explain too much. Now that Jiang Che had mastered the method for making buses, he just sent a few cars to each territory for daily use—the rest were put into operation.

Leng Feng naturally saw all the feedback, including the complaints.

But he didn’t care. In these times, having shit bottled up inside is normal.

If people couldn’t at least vent online, half the population might actually go nuts.

He scrolled through his phone screen, staring at the content and couldn’t help but laugh.

All these Lords’ dungeons really are notorious now, but hey, it’s not like anyone wanted things this way.

As for the rule about not being allowed to hang around in other territories for long—who does it guard against? He could only say: you’ll all understand soon enough.

Ever since Jiang Che started construction in his domain, Leng Feng hadn’t visited his turf again.

He didn’t know exactly what Jiang Che’s domain looked like these days, but it had to be booming.

He sighed at that thought.

Maybe handing that bouquet to Jiang Che was the smartest move he’d ever made.

Trying to build civilization after the apocalypse?

Heh.

Leng Feng downed the drink at his side in one gulp—the sharp liquor burned down his long-empty gut.

"Is the bus here yet?" He turned to Liu Mang.

Jiang Che’s place was the closest. If a bus was gonna show up, it’d show up here first.

He’d already built a bus station at the edge of his territory; from then on, all vehicles would stop there on schedule.

Now the place outside the station was already packed with people.

Land here at Leng Feng’s turf was damn precious—just about every square meter was taken.

This was the first time anyone saw Leng Feng set aside such a big chunk of space and build some weird structure.

Weird, because it literally looked like a platform or station.

The edges were lined with clear glass walls; on one side it looked like a city bus station, on the other, the black earth of the Dark Forest.

The platform was ringed off by a huge empty space, blocking people from getting close.

There was a turnstile at the entrance. Right now, someone was already standing there, hat brim low over his face, just sitting—motionless.

"Dude, tell me this place doesn’t look exactly like a station."

"They already finished building this ’transportation’ thing they were yapping about?"

"Fast work, but who the hell wants to leave? Not me."

"Where would I even go? I’ll just wait and see."

...

As everyone was chatting, someone started pushing from behind. "Excuse me, let me through."

"What’s your problem? Wanna watch? No—it’s your fault for not coming earlier." The people blocking the front shook their heads. With nothing better to do lately, this new construction was perfect for people-watching.

"Hey, we want to get on the bus! Please let us through." People in the back yelled, pushing forward—dozens fighting for a spot.

Most of the workers Jiang Che hired came from Leng Feng’s territory.

But their families were scattered among the dungeons of the other territories.

Hearing they actually wanted to board the bus, the people in front moved aside in confusion.

"Where’s this bus you’re talking about?"

"You really gonna be the first to try this? Even if you leave, you’ll just have to come back, right?"

"The fare’s your hard-earned energy points—I wouldn’t waste mine like that."

"You’re just going to see your family in another territory, huh? I mean, I’d like to, but if energy is the bus ticket, count me out."

...

The people up front kept talking as they made space for the would-be passengers.

They too were curious about what this so-called bus was all about.

The first buses arrived fast. By calculation, there weren’t many family members from Leng Feng’s side—three buses were enough to pick them all up.

A glow appeared in the Dark Forest, headlights piercing the darkness ahead.

Three buses rolled into view, parking neatly inside the station.

The platform was designed perfectly—the doors opened, and with a single step, you’d touch land.

But the moment their feet hit the ground, sharp spikes shot up, piercing the soles of their feet—dozens howled in pain as they got off.

Blood started spreading across the ground.

They grimaced—even though it was the same pain they’d always had on Leng Feng’s turf, just a short spell over on Jiang Che’s turf had made them soft again.

"Damn, haven’t felt that in so long. Hurts like hell!"

"Hard to believe I made it like this before."

"I used to sleep right on the ground, you know, and thanks to my freaky self-healing, I’d be good as new the next day."

"Should’ve taken off my shoes earlier. Even though the Lord gives out free pairs now and then, ruining them still feels like such a waste."

...

The folks who just got off the bus wailed in pain, but they still looked excited as hell.

The ticket checker by the turnstile glanced at their brand-new shoes, now freshly ruined, and a flash of puzzlement crossed his eyes.

How the hell are things over there if everyone’s got new shoes?

"Mom, over here, hurry!" They started waving like crazy as their families pushed through the crowd toward them.

The waiting crowd’s feet had long since stopped bleeding, but seeing the new arrivals with blood pouring from fresh holes in their feet, they frowned.

It had been so long since anyone had seen fresh blood, and just for a moment, it really looked like these injuries were unusually bad.

"Son... you want us to move to that territory? Maybe we should just stay. That Jiang Che gives me the creeps."

"Look at those wounds—this is nuts."

"Mom, you can’t talk bad about the Lord!"
