Chapter 219: Clearing Out the Population
Jiang Che went outside to chop wood in the Dark Forest—he needed to build a few buses.
At first, he needed Xiong Jie and the others to help pick people up. It would be busy in the beginning, but later on, he could let newcomers to the dungeon do the driving work.
That way, the whole operation chain would finally be brought to life.
Flying Tiger wasn’t wrong—his top priority now was to strengthen the people around him.
Not just being stuck where even going outside was hard.
For this matter, the others basically couldn’t help at all.
Xiong Jie and the rest could only stand at the side and watch.
"Chopping trees, I’m good at that!" Ren Fengxiang followed Jiang Che into the darkness as well.
Their dungeons were right next to the Dark Forest; they practically didn’t have to take more than a few steps to get the newest materials.
"Dad, he said there’s no way to solve it." Flying Tiger’s voice was very soft.
"It’s okay, your dad knows how to take care of himself." Flying Eagle’s hearty voice came from the other end of the call.
He spoke loudly, his voice carrying an irrepressible smile when he heard his daughter calling.
Xiong Jie and the others already had sharpened senses; they easily heard the very clear voice from the receiver.
They silently stepped a bit further away, until the voice faded and became blurry.
"Dad, one more thing." Flying Tiger sighed—it was, without doubt, a very cruel matter.
"You can’t keep too many people in the dungeon, especially in yours."
"Our enemies aren’t just evil spirits—there’s also the Dark Forest."
"Too large a population is an irresistible bait for the Dark Forest. It’ll devour us all without hesitation."
"Drive out some more people..." Her tone was heavy.
Saying this out loud would surely spark a riot.
"If you can’t handle it, I’ll ask Jiang Che for help. He’ll probably lend a hand." In her mind, it was simple—her dad might be number one in his region, but with so much chaos, driving others out could easily trigger outrage and riots.
Water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize it.
"That? This matter..." Flying Eagle glanced at the blood all over the ground. "I’ve already taken care of it."
"When they found out I didn’t set up any checkpoints in my dungeon, a lot of people got twisted ideas and wanted to devour my team."
He had seen all that on the monitors. Others might not be able to keep track of all the screens, but those images were burned into his mind. He couldn’t escape them.
Some were gathering to discuss, saying there were no checkpoints in his dungeon, and their safety wasn’t guaranteed.
A whole group was plotting to take him out, then put the strongest person in his place to protect everyone else.
Flying Eagle kept talking on the phone, step by step heading outside.
The air was thick with the stench of blood. He grabbed a tissue and wiped the blood off his fingers.
The sticky blood had become a stain impossible to erase, seeping stubbornly into his skin.
"But I took care of it all." He lowered his head, a mocking grin on his lips.
At first, he really just wanted to protect everyone’s safety.
Too bad there were just too many with crooked ambitions.
"It’s probably not enough. Jiang Che means to leave only a quarter of the dungeon area for people to live in, no matter how large it is."
Flying Eagle froze. He’d killed a lot this time, but compared to what Jiang Che was suggesting, it was a drop in the ocean.
Such a huge dungeon, and only a quarter can be used for human habitation? If word of this got out, there would be complete chaos everywhere.
"There’s a problem with this." He clicked his tongue, feeling more and more at a loss.
"Jiang Che!" Just as Flying Tiger was discussing with her dad, Long Yun, hiding in the corner shadows, suddenly shouted out.
He was far stronger than Flying Tiger—he could hear every word of their call, even from a distance.
"I have a request, please." The last two words were said almost without any strength.
"Can you help me bring all the people from Dragon Cloud Tower over?" There was sadness in his voice.
Previously, he’d had Leng Feng protect the people in Dragon Cloud Tower, and he trusted Leng Feng’s character.
But after hearing Flying Tiger’s phone call, he realized a massacre was coming soon.
Outside meant certain death. Even crowded inside the dungeon, with death a constant threat, no one would willingly leave.
And he couldn’t guarantee that his brothers at Leng Feng’s place could survive, wouldn’t get kicked out, not with his current situation.
By comparison, Jiang Che’s place seemed like the best option now.
There were almost no people here—hardly a risk of being full.
As long as they didn’t start anything with Jiang Che, with his clear-cut view of enmity and kindness, he wouldn’t treat them badly.
"There aren’t many people left from Dragon Cloud Tower—I swear none of them will hold any grudge against you."
"I’ll tell everyone, I’m staying here of my own free will."
By that point, most of the people from Dragon Cloud Tower were already dead.
The remaining brothers in the tower could barely know the real details from just the live stream.
"And don’t worry—once they come, I’ll do my best to protect the dungeon for you. Anyone who tries anything, I’ll kill them. They’ll be your bargaining chip. I’ll work for you with everything I’ve got." He grew more worked up as he spoke.
Jiang Che paused in his wood-chopping and looked at Long Yun, then nodded.
"As long as I sense any killing intent..." Before he could finish, Long Yun waved his hands repeatedly. "No, no—if there’s any killing intent, I’ll be the first to kill them. I won’t let them lay a hand on you, master." As he spoke, he finally bowed his head, expressing submission.
He couldn’t help but let out a self-mocking laugh, because he knew even in this situation, he might not be able to protect his own brothers.
When things turn out this way, the only one he can count on is the person he hated the most until now.
"Can you build things? Set up some facilities." Jiang Che’s voice reached Long Yun’s ears.
"What kind of things?" Long Yun looked completely confused.
"Stuff like amusement park attractions and things like that."
"Yeah, yeah! My crew knows how to do all that—we used to run a club, so we know every kind of entertainment facility!"
"Even if they don’t know, they can learn."
"Just give them a chance." Long Yun was instantly excited.
He seemed to realize all at once that Jiang Che’s place really was the safest.
"Alright."
"Once the buses are built, I’ll send people to bring them here."
Jiang Che nodded. As long as these people could build things, everything else would be fine.
He wanted to build an amusement park as quickly as possible, so high-level Survivors were the best choice.
As long as they obeyed, that was enough—he had no other demands.
Leng Feng’s side also got the message from Flying Tiger, requiring him to drive out most of the people, or else the Dark Forest would consume them all.
He bowed his head in thought for two seconds, remembering the peculiarity of his dungeon: "Bring everyone from other dungeons who get kicked out."
He was planning to take everyone in!
