The bartender’s heart skipped a beat the moment the name was mentioned; just hearing Leng Feng’s words gave her a rough idea.

Leng Feng had a way with words, subtly implying that Jiang Che had never tasted many things before, prompting her to bring everything out.

He even mentioned the dishes.

She could understand not having drunk alcohol, but not having eaten some basic dishes was beyond her comprehension.

Is there really someone like that nowadays?

At this thought, something clicked in her mind.

Because indeed, there is such a person who has never tasted these things or experienced those novelties.

That person is Jiang Che.

Leng Feng had just mentioned Jiang as well.

Seeing the bartender comprehend his words and prepare the items, Leng Feng heaved a sigh of relief.

He smiled at Jiang Che, "Regarding Dark Star, I already have a plan in place."

Before he arrived, he briefly blocked Dark Star’s perception, but only its perception.

If Dark Star wanted to retrieve him as a seed at this moment, he would still have no way to prevent it.

He believed Dark Star wouldn’t retrieve him for no reason; at least, not until the passage opens.

In fact, it might wait even longer.

Because Dark Star is greedy, and would likely want to take this opportunity to cultivate more potent seeds, ultimately absorbing them to break free from its current limits.

"You have a plan?" Jiang Che looked into his eyes; if Dark Star absorbed all the seeds, who could tell what it would become, not even the Evil Spirit Lords.

Everyone now wants to find and kill it in advance.

But Dark Star hides well, and no one knows its current whereabouts.

"Yes, as you can see, there are problems with these spikes," Leng Feng pointed at the ground’s detection.

The floor beneath the bartender’s feet was also covered in blood, yet she seemed accustomed to it, moving around without any change in expression as the blood flowed.

Leng Feng did not intend to hide anything from Jiang Che; even if he didn’t say it, Jiang could figure out some things.

"I haven’t given up struggling, nor am I willing to become just another seed for Dark Star," Leng Feng sat across from Jiang Che, clenching his fists involuntarily.

The muscles on his well-defined face bulged visibly.

"To tell you the truth, everyone at the top, every survivor in my group, is a seed of Dark Star," he said, pointing to the bartender.

The bartender, though not highly skilled, boasted an imposing mark on her neck despite having a sixth-tier strength.

Jiang Che was taken aback; he knew Dark Star had many seeds and assumed they were scattered all over the world.

Previously, he reckoned that even if Leng Feng were not dealt with, eliminating the other seeds would prevent Dark Star from advancing by only absorbing Leng Feng.

There wouldn’t be enough energy otherwise.

He was struggling to find Dark Star’s other seeds when Leng Feng delivered this huge surprise.

"Many, everyone at the top is a seed of Dark Star."

"And everyone knows," Leng Feng lowered his gaze.

"We’ve all prepared and have our plans to deal with Dark Star," Leng Feng’s voice was soft.

"I understand your thought process; killing me would disrupt a major part of Dark Star’s plan."

"But I want to ask you for a chance."

He glanced toward the sky, the glass ceiling letting in the slanted sunlight, casting golden hues on their silhouetted faces.

The sun, originally overhead, was now setting to the rear.

"You see, even sunlight has become a luxury, and we’ve just glimpsed some hope," Leng Feng gestured toward himself, "if possible, I hope you’ll allow us our chance to resist."

Jiang Che was taken aback; he merely wanted to hear how Leng Feng planned to deal with Dark Star.

He was just assessing the plan.

"In my territory, these spikes can instantly absorb everyone’s life energy to elevate myself," Leng Feng stood up, his hands at his side.

Jiang Che nodded imperceptibly, having sensed it upon arrival.

These spikes hadn’t yet harmed anyone but were always poised to strike.

He also sensed a trace of threat from Leng Feng.

"On our side, everyone is ready to die," Leng Feng pointed at the bartender, having not concealed anything from her when saying the earlier words.

The bartender, when pointed at by Leng Feng, smiled and nodded at Jiang Che.

The misunderstanding earlier was just an awkward move, but she quickly adjusted her emotions and moved past it.

"I haven’t hidden it from everyone; they all know and are willing to take a gamble with me. We want a serious battle with the evil spirits!" Leng Feng’s voice grew fervent.

Jiang Che took a deep breath, "The absorption you’re talking about, it surely doesn’t just include absorbing you and your own people’s life energy, right?"

Upon hearing his words, Leng Feng remained silent for a long time before finally speaking.

"If possible, I wish to save those who’ve fought so hard alongside me," he laughed bitterly, "They’ve been with me for so long, and we’ve sacrificed so much to the evil spirits."

"If many must die this time, then I hope they can live," as Leng Feng spoke, the bartender turned her back, evidently aware.

Jiang Che watched them in silence, not quite grasping their viewpoint.

But he could feel the fervor in Leng Feng’s heart.

"What do you want me to do then?"

Leng Feng brought him here for more than just to hear a passionate monologue.

"I want to know, what is your current level of power?"

"Of course, don’t misunderstand, I don’t intend to fight you."

"I just think my plan might fail."

"This may be selfish, but I want... if I fail, you could handle what follows." He shrugged, not elaborating on what those things might be.

"If you can think of a more complete solution, perhaps we can discuss it together," Leng Feng reluctantly shrugged, "I just want a chance to fight."

He knew the repercussions of failing, and he would absorb everyone’s life energy in a desperate gamble.

Absorb ordinary people’s first, then his own.

If successful, it would be great.

If not... everything he did would become Dark Star’s dowry.

Dark Star always fretted over not having enough seeds.

It wanted to set more before absorbing them together.

If he failed, the people of this city would become the foundation for Dark Star’s next breakthrough.

By then, even the evil spirits wouldn’t be able to stop Dark Star, let alone humans.
