Chapter 400: End Of An Era: Lust Vs Wrath [1]
Swoosh!
A cold wind carrying fine violet particles swept into Damian’s body, flowing through his skin as his presence swelled with every passing second. The particles seemed alive, eagerly sinking into every pore as though answering the call of a king.
He shut his eyes and inhaled deeply before releasing a slow, cold hiss that carried faint traces of violet mist. When he opened them again, each pupil had split into three while his canine teeth lengthened into sharp fangs. Black cracks spread subtly beneath the skin around his eyes, making his gaze appear less human and far more ancient.
"I will admit, you have come much farther than anyone would have expected. Among the human princes I have encountered, you are second only to Sol,"
Kaizer said calmly, a stark contrast to the prince infamous for his uncontrollable rage. His voice carried no mockery this time. It was the acknowledgement one warrior gave another before deciding whether they deserved to die with dignity.
His gaze drifted toward the foot of the mountain below. He could see Damian’s demons gathered there while his wives sat cross-legged upon the ground. Intricate arrays glowed beneath each of them, every formation connected to a far larger array several meters away. Spiritual energy circulated endlessly between the formations as though preparing for something that had yet to arrive.
"Now your entire planet will witness your fall. A pity."
Swoosh!
Kaizer appeared directly before Damian, his hand already reaching forward with frightening simplicity. There was no killing intent to announce the attack and no unnecessary movement. The instant his fingers touched Damian’s chest, the latter burst into countless violet sparks and vanished.
Kaizer immediately turned and Damian was already behind him.
Nearly a hundred fists surged forward simultaneously, every movement blending into the next until it resembled a storm rather than martial arts.
Nine Illusion Strike!
"You think the fists of a fox can hurt me?!"
Kaizer snarled, his face filled with contempt as he threw both arms open as though welcoming the incoming barrage. His confidence bordered on arrogance, for throughout countless centuries there had never been a fox capable of overwhelming a dragon through raw physical combat.
However, the instant the very first fist connected with his face, the skin beneath the impact swelled unnaturally before bursting open as violet flames poured from the wound.
Martial Art: Crimson Fox Kiss!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Purple explosions erupted one after another across Kaizer’s body as every strike detonated upon impact. Each punch forced him another step backward while another explosion erupted elsewhere on his body before the previous one had even faded. His robes were gradually torn apart by the chain of detonations as violet fire danced wildly around him.
Demons, angels and ordinary civilians alike stared upward in stunned silence as hundreds of fists thundered across the heavens, hammering Kaizer’s retreating body while Damian pursued without giving him a single moment to recover. The mountain beneath them shook from the pressure waves generated by every collision while distant clouds were repeatedly blown apart.
"He’s fighting back!" Loth gasped, her voice filled with disbelief as she watched the impossible unfold before her eyes.
Even Rah slowly forced her eyes open despite her weakened condition, lifting her gaze toward the battle unfolding above. A weak smile slowly formed on her lips despite the pain coursing through her body.
"CLEARLY YOU HAVE NEVER CROSSED FISTS WITH MY PREDECESSORS! IF YOU HAD, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT CHALLENGING ME IN CLOSE COMBAT IS SHEER STUPIDITY!"
Damian’s voice boomed across the world. Every strike carried enough force to flatten mountains, yet his rhythm never broke. His fists continued flowing like a river, refusing to give Kaizer even the smallest opportunity to retaliate.
Yet the moment he finished speaking, a cold chuckle escaped Kaizer’s lips as the corners of his mouth curled into a vicious smile. Despite the countless explosions ripping across his body, there wasn’t even the slightest hint of panic in his crimson eyes.
"DON’T BE STUPID, HUMAN. IN A TEST OF STRENGTH... YOU ARE INFERIOR AT BEST."
BANG!
Damian’s body exploded backward, sliding hundreds of meters through the sky as a pained groan escaped his lips. Every one of his attacks had landed cleanly, yet instead of being overwhelmed, Kaizer had simply ignored the barrage altogether and stepped through it before answering with a single devastating punch.
Without hesitation, Damian unfurled his wings. A violent shockwave erupted from them, abruptly halting his retreat before he could crash into the distant mountains.
The instant he stopped he felt something warm rushing up his throat.
"Blegh!"
Blood burst violently from Damian’s mouth.
People around the world instinctively covered their mouths in horror as Damian coughed repeatedly, one hand instinctively clutching his chest. A deep imprint of Kaizer’s fist had caved into his torso, the damage clearly visible even from a distance.
The surrounding flesh had already begun turning black while countless tiny fractures spread outward from the impact like cracks across broken glass.
"One punch..." Linda whispered, covering her lips in disbelief. She had watched Damian overcome impossible enemies time after time, including Duke Haborym yet this single exchange had shattered every expectation she still possessed.
Standing beside the shattered window of his office, Twenty felt his hands trembling uncontrollably as he stared toward the battle. He wanted to believe his brother could win, yet the difference between both fighters was so overwhelming that even hope began to feel fragile.
The difference was as obvious as night and day.
"LIKE I SAID EARLIER, YOU ARE TALENTED... BUT YOUR GREATEST FLAW WILL ALWAYS BE THAT YOU ARE HUMAN. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO KILL ME!"
Kaizer declared proudly while folding his arms across his chest. Blood continued dripping from the wounds covering his body, yet every injury seemed insignificant compared to the calm confidence still radiating from him.
To everyone’s surprise, his declaration only earned a mocking smile from Damian. Slowly straightening himself, Damian wiped the blood from his lips with the back of his remaining hand before rolling his aching shoulder once.
"I CANNOT KILL YOU... YOU SAY?"
BANG!!!
Everyone’s eyes widened in utter disbelief.
Kaizer’s chest suddenly jerked forward as flesh exploded outward. Blood and fragments of his internal organs burst into the air while his still beating heart was violently pulled several inches out of his chest.
Buzz!
The wounded Damian instantly stopped pretending to be injured. His body slowly dissolved like an illusion as his lips continued moving.
However, the words everyone heard came from behind Kaizer.
"WHO DECIDED THAT?!"
Another Damian gradually materialized behind the Prince of Wrath.
One arm had pierced clean through Kaizer’s back before emerging from his chest, his hand tightly gripping the deity’s still beating heart.
His skin had darkened until it resembled polished steel while his muscles looked as though they had been carved from black iron. His voice overlapped with a far deeper and more monstrous version of itself, making every word sound as though two different beings were speaking together.
The Damian Kaizer had punched had been an illusion from the very beginning.
Even Kaizer’s brows rose ever so slightly. It wasn’t because Damian had pierced his body. It was because he hadn’t sensed the deception until it was already too late.
To think a deity was tricked by mere illusions of a demigod. Shameful!
Rah couldn’t stop a smile from appearing upon her face as she witnessed the exchange. Even against a God her husband was fighting him head-on.
When her father had first allied themselves with Damian, she genuinely believed her father had made a foolish decision. Why would a powerful clan abandon alliances with Gods in favor of a mere demigod?
Yet during her short time beside Damian...
She had come to understand exactly what kind of man he was. Somewhere along the way, she had fallen completely in love with him.
In her eyes, he was already the strongest and if he wasn’t he inevitably would become the strongest given enough time.
Someone like him could never die here.
Rip!
Her thoughts came to an abrupt halt and her eyes widened in horror. Loth, Racheal, Hazel, Ruby, demons and even angels
Every human watching the battle froze.
Kaizer calmly raised the arm Damian had thrust through his chest. His fingers wrapped firmly around Damian’s wrist while his other hand slid across Damian’s waist like a wedge. There wasn’t the slightest trace of panic in his movements. Instead, he simply stared at Damian burning rage, as though this outcome had already been anticipated.
Then he pulled...
Blood sprayed violently across the heavens as Kaizer ripped Damian’s arm completely off, tearing it free from his own chest in one brutal motion. Tendons snapped one after another while shattered bone fragments scattered through the air before being swallowed by violet flames.
"GAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Damian’s agonized scream echoed throughout the skies as he staggered backward, clutching the bleeding stump where his arm had once been.
His expression twisted with pain and utter disbelief. If someone had ever told him his arm could be torn off from that angle, he would have called them insane.
"My wounds... aren’t healing."
Damian frowned deeply as he stared at the blood pouring endlessly from the severed shoulder. Violet energy repeatedly gathered around the injury only to disperse moments later, as though something invisible was rejecting every attempt his body made to repair itself.
The bleeding showed no signs of slowing.
His healing factor, had been completely suppressed.
