Chapter 406: Goodbye, Earth
Suddenly, countless cracks began spreading across the surface of the colossal crimson False World suspended high above the clouds. The fractures multiplied with astonishing speed, branching across its entire surface like a shattered mirror until the once flawless sphere seemed on the verge of collapse. Every eye across Earth instinctively turned toward the crimson prison, their hearts pounding as silence descended upon both realms.
Krrraaaasssshhhh!
The crimson sphere exploded into millions of glittering fragments that scattered across the heavens like shattered crystal. As the crimson light faded, countless eyes dilated in shock.
A colossal dragon, split perfectly in half slowly descended through the sky. Its two severed halves drifted apart as they fell, gradually dissolving into countless crimson particles before disappearing completely into the wind.
The Dragon Prince had been defeated
___ Aurelios ___
Sol slowly raised his head as a frantic voice tore through the skies of the Underworld.
"K... KAIZER WAS DEFEATED!!!!!!"
The declaration echoed across Aurelios several times before finally sinking into the minds of those who heard it.
BOOOOM!
The entire realm erupted.
Cheers exploded from every direction as countless demons raised their fists toward the heavens. Taverns emptied into the streets while enormous crowds surged through the city. Fireworks of Demonic Force burst into the sky as humans roared with excitement.
The entire human population of Aurelios understood better than anyone what Sol’s relationship with the Sin of Lust represented.
Whether officially acknowledged or not, Damian’s victory was naturally seen as a victory for Aurelios itself.
More importantly Kaizer had lost.
The invincible Dragon Prince compared to their God had fallen to another human.
Everyone exchanged stunned glances, laughing almost nervously as they struggled to process what they had just witnessed.
No one had expected Damian to defeat Kaizer. Not even Sol.
The celebrations quickly spread beyond Aurelios and Velmora descended into complete madness.
Its streets became so crowded that movement itself became difficult as demons from every race flooded the capital. Restaurants overflowed with patrons while merchants hurriedly opened their stores despite the late hour. Countless strangers embraced one another in celebration, loudly discussing the battle they had just witnessed.
Word spread with frightening speed. The Human Prince had defeated the Dragon Prince.
Within minutes, enormous caravans began arriving from neighboring kingdoms. Flying beasts darkened the skies while long lines formed outside the city’s gates. Even demons sworn to rival princes immediately abandoned their territories and traveled south.
Who wouldn’t?
Velmora had just become the territory of the most promising prince in the entire Underworld.
A human capable of killing Kaizer before attaining Godhood. If such a monster ever ascended, even Sol might finally possess an equal.
For countless ordinary demons, moving to Velmora no longer represented ambition.
It represented survival.
Better to live beneath a tolerant Human God than become collateral damage in whatever future war awaited the Underworld.
"Hahahahahahahaha!" Sol threw his head back and laughed so loudly that the entire realm trembled. "As expected of a human. He could never lose to a lizard!"
His booming laughter echoed throughout Aurelios. Even Leo couldn’t help laughing alongside him.
Meanwhile Belial and Lazarus stood completely speechless. Their expressions had become unbelievably ugly. Their mouths opened several times as though trying to speak but nothing came out.
Neither of them could process what had just happened. It should be Impossible.
Sol continued laughing as he casually returned to his throne. Slowly lowering himself onto it, his smile gradually disappeared before his gaze shifted toward Aine. The warmth in his expression vanished, replaced by an icy gleam capable of freezing the entire hall.
"Do you still believe you made the right decision?" Sol asked quietly.
The temperature throughout the palace noticeably dropped. Yet Aine appeared completely indifferent. Whether he genuinely didn’t care or simply hid his emotions too well, nobody present could tell.
He merely stretched lazily before letting out a relaxed sigh.
"Well, whether this operation succeeded or failed, I earned enough gold to run my realm for the next five thousand years. I don’t know about you, but sleeping peacefully through the next five thousand years sounds like a pretty good victory to me."
His chaise lounge slowly floated upward before leisurely drifting toward the palace exit as though none of this concerned him in the slightest.
"If you ask me," Leo chuckled while watching him leave, "he’s actually a pretty good businessman. It’s hard to hate him."
The title of Mercenary Prince hadn’t been given to Aine without reason.
He preferred accepting a single assassination contract capable of funding centuries of comfort over ruling his kingdom every single day.
In his eyes, time spent working was time wasted. Ironically, they could have easily doubled his payment and hired him against Lazarus or Belial instead.
Unfortunately Sol possessed too much pride. Requesting military assistance from a Fairy was something he considered a stain upon both his honor and the legacy of his ancestors.
Meanwhile...
Earth remained the complete opposite. No celebrations erupted. The entire planet had fallen into absolute silence.
Standing alone amidst the ruined heavens was Damian. His long black hair drifted aimlessly in the wind, the purple streaks that once flowed through it having disappeared completely. His skin had become unnaturally pale, almost identical to that of a corpse. The massive hole where his heart should have been remained horrifyingly visible, stained with drying blood.
He was alive but barely.
"He... he won..." Linda whispered before her voice rose into an involuntary yelp. "He won!"
Her expression contained far more disbelief than excitement. Clara stared at Damian’s motionless figure with trembling lips.
She wanted nothing more than to run toward him, hold him, and make sure he was truly alive. Yet she remained exactly where she stood.
Too much had happened and too much time had passed between them.
Even now, She didn’t know whether she still possessed the right to embrace him.
Corbin quietly observed Damian with an unusual gleam hidden within his eyes.
He had noticed it.
This was the exact same unsettling change he felt when Damian defeated Duke Haborym. It was shocking it had appeared here again.
Unfortunately, Corbin had once again been denied the opportunity to witness it directly. It seems he would never get to know the invincible secret behind Damian’s true strength.
Across the rest of the world, billions remained completely silent. Just a few minutes was not enough to understand how the most famous lawyer turned judge in morden history became a God and just battlefield another dragon God to the death and somehow won.
How are they supposed to respond or react to this in less than 20 minutes processing time?
The man who had just saved their world continued floating weakly above them. His body gently swayed with the wind as though it might collapse at any moment.
Damian struggled to gather his thoughts. Every attempt felt exhausting.
His consciousness drifted in and out while the countless voices reaching his ears gradually blended together into meaningless noise. He could no longer distinguish one sound from another.
Everything felt distant.
Damain’s exhausted body finally reached its limit and he fell backward. Before he could descend even a single meter, three figures instantly appeared beneath him.
His wives caught him together with extraordinary gentleness.
Although Damian’s blurred vision prevented him from recognizing their faces, he instinctively relaxed the moment he felt their embrace.
He could hear them speaking, he simply couldn’t understand the words anymore. Their voices became little more than distant echoes as an overwhelming sense of peace slowly washed over him.
Without resisting, he allowed himself to rest.
His eyelids slowly closed.
"H... He’s alive, but he’s completely drained. We need to leave before the Demigods are sent after us." Hazel whispered after quickly examining his condition.
Relief filled her eyes, though it was quickly overshadowed by worry. Ruby and Racheal silently nodded. For one final moment, all three women turned their heads toward the battered world below.
Without another word, the three women carried Damian toward the massive gate suspended in the heavens.
The ancient portal slowly swallowed their figures before closing behind them. As the last traces of its light disappeared the skies finally became quiet once more.
Finally, earth can enjoy peace.
