Chapter 2723 - 554: The Fifth Passage
Even with his current level as a Cultivator, upon stepping onto this long bridge, he still felt an uncontrollable sensation.
At the other end of the bridge, five black vortexes of varying sizes appeared. Clearly, these vortexes were supposed to lead to the Primeval Realm, and the smallest vortex should allow Cultivators at the Golden Core Stage to enter, while the largest vortex naturally was prepared for those at the Golden Immortal Realm.
Cao Zhen, along with the True Immortals of various races, were uncontrollably drawn toward the second largest vortex.
Then, a sense of dizziness and weightlessness came over him.
Yet it was merely for the span of a breath; after that, he felt the solid earth underfoot, regaining his clarity.
Beneath his feet was no longer the long bridge, but a lush grassland.
"Is this the Primeval Realm? Or the sinister outskirts of it?"
The Sky Clan only informed other clans that there would be an opportunity to enter the Primeval Realm, but they shared nothing specific.
Cao Zhen looked around, and as far as the eye could see, the world was flourishing.
Vast grasslands stretched into the distance, verdant grass like a carpet, dotted with wildflowers that exuded an enchanting fragrance. Tall trees towered mightily, with branches and leaves flourishing, forming dense forests that brought greenery and vitality to the land.
He noticed that the trees in this world were extraordinarily tall, even though the grass wasn’t over one’s height, it was much taller than the grass in the Great Thousand World he came from.
And around him, he saw no other members of the Human Clan, nor any Cultivators from other clans.
"Everyone has been dispersed to different places."
Cao Zhen furrowed his brow slightly and took out a clan list from his bosom. Yet when he burned the clan list, he received no response from Liao Youdi and the others.
"Even the clan list is no good, I didn’t plan on finding them easily, I’ll just have to search hard."
Cao Zhen stood up and flew into the Void.
However, this world seemed not small, as he flew for a long time without seeing Liao Youdi and the others.
Gradually, a small village appeared in front of him.
"There’s a village, and it seems quite a number of villagers live here."
Cao Zhen felt a stir in his heart and flew toward the village.
This village was quite peculiar. Normally, a single place would have the same architectural style, but the buildings here were very strange and diverse, including sturdy, durable stone houses built from hard stones.
There were also thatch huts that seemed like a strong wind could blow them away, as well as wooden houses.
Some of these houses shared a similar rugged architectural style, while others were incredibly intricate.
Even more bizarre was that the inhabitants of this village seemed to come from several different races.
Some of the races had bodies with bull heads and human bodies, tall and strong, with horns on their heads and robust physiques.
There were also some humanoid figures whose entire bodies were made of crystal stones.
And some with strange bodies, like snakes but with human-like heads.
So, are these the natives?
Cao Zhen’s gaze quickly swept over the village. These natives seemed to live in the simplest and most primitive ways. Many of them were dressed in beast skins and grass-woven clothing.
Based on their dwelling in thatch huts, stone houses, and simple yet practical shelters, together with their farm tools, it appears these natives maintained their livelihood through hunting, gathering, and fishing in a primitive manner; they didn’t even cultivate crops.
The residents of the village clearly noticed the figure descending from above. They all looked up, filled with curiosity, but their faces showed no fear.
Moreover, there seemed to be no sense of Immortal aura or mana fluctuations from them, indicating that none of them were Cultivators.
Cao Zhen landed in the village, and immediately, many villagers gathered around him in curiosity.
Then, they began to ask in a babble of voices, "Are you an Immortal?"
"Are you an Immortal from the outside world?"
Upon hearing, Cao Zhen felt relieved. These people’s language was the same as the one he used, which made things much easier.
He gently nodded and said, "Yes, I am an Immortal from the outside world. How do you know about us?"
"We naturally know."
"Yes, there are legends of you here, stories of you have been passed down through the ages."
"It’s said that every era, Immortals from the outside world would fly in, and now it must be another era."
Hearing this, Cao Zhen curiously asked, "Then, have you seen other Immortals?"
"Haven’t seen any, you are the first Immortal we’ve seen."
"However, if there are Immortals, they would all head to the Holy Mountain in the north. It’s said every time Immortals come, they all end up flying to the Holy Mountain." A bull-headed and human-bodied villager said, even pointing with their hand to show Cao Zhen where north was.
"Oh, thank you very much." Cao Zhen cupped his hands to these villagers and flew off to the north.
The villagers watched the figure quickly vanish into the sky, their faces filled with envy.
"That’s an Immortal."
"Indeed, it would be amazing if we could become Immortals too."
"Such a pity we weren’t chosen back then; otherwise, we could fly like that too."
