Chapter 8: Three slaps was all it took

Miss Stephanie stood up, walked straight to Andrew, and gave him a very dirty slap right in front of Logan and right in front of the cameras Andrew’s friends were holding.

There was shock in the room. Logan’s carefree attitude topped it off.

Logan was sure he now had enough attraction points with Miss Stephanie to override some nuisance, but still, he knew he couldn’t really depend on that since Andrew was her own child.

"Mom, I only tried to help save the family’s reputation. You really can’t just bring anybody into our house. It’s not right at all. And besides, he is here to see me, not..." Before Andrew could even finish speaking, another slap resounded.

"You should be ashamed for that stupid statement. After beating him up in school, you had the effrontery to call him names. As a matter of fact, you still haven’t given the apology I asked you to give.

But I’m not in the mood right now, so all of you should just get out," Miss Stephanie said, her anger boiling over.

Meanwhile, Andrew held his face in the corner of the room, completely defeated by what had just happened. The pain and shame engulfed him as he left the house, glaring at Logan in confusion.

"Mom, so you dare hit me in front of this jerk? You’re going to see. I promise you..."

Another slap sounded right before he could finish his speech, demoralizing Andrew further.

To the extent that his friends had to lower their phones and stop recording. Since they had known Miss Stephanie, there was never a time she had as much as raised her voice at Andrew no matter what he said.

As they knew, she was afraid of her own husband, and they needed no one to tell them, given the bruises that appeared all around her body.

But tonight was way different from every other day. This time around, it was Andrew who was getting disgraced instead of the usual.

Without any more exchange, Andrew and his friends left the house immediately.

Andrew was already fuming with anger.

No one needed to be told that it was going to be a very long night once Paul returned.

Miss Stephanie stared at them with very angry eyes until the very last one of them had left.

Then she gradually turned to Logan, smiling as if nothing had even transpired.

Her smile softened something in Logan’s heart, but he remained quiet.

"So sorry for the commotion. I hope it didn’t disturb you in any way. Just know you are welcome in this house at any time. Don’t mind what my son is saying," Miss Stephanie said. Her voice was stern, but the smile seemed to soften it a little more than needed.

Logan, sensing it was time for him to go, gave a little smile and stood up.

"Thank you so much for today, and also thank you for scolding your son Andrew. He’s really a tough nut," Logan said in a teasing way, which didn’t seem to interest Miss Stephanie.

"Well, that was a bit rude, but what can I say? He’s getting worse by the day," Miss Stephanie took a slight pause before finally continuing.

"Well then, let me drop you off. You seem to be ready to depart already," Miss Stephanie said calmly, the genuine smile finally returning to her face.

Logan nodded slightly as they walked out of the house together.

"My god, that bitch. My own mother had the guts to lay a finger on me."

"Who the fuck does she even think she is?" Andrew was already fuming. His anger was so over the top that none of his friends even talked anymore. Their heads were bowed out of fear.

Andrew looked so angry it was like he could order someone to die that instant and it would be done.

Just as Andrew was still fuming, he saw his mom come down the steps with Logan, smiling and chatting away like they were spouses.

Logan playfully opened the driver’s seat for her, making her blush as they stood there chatting some more before deciding to finally enter the car.

Within minutes, they drove out of the compound.

At that instant, Andrew finally snapped.

He immediately took out his phone and dialed his dad’s number.

"Don’t worry, I would teach this woman a lesson she would never forget tonight," Andrew whispered under his breath as he dialed the number angrily.

The phone rang two times before his dad finally picked up.

Paul was still in the bar parlor as usual, buying men beer as they ate and drank to their fullest.

No surprises—when Paul picked up, the place was sounding noisy.

"Dad, please I need your help. Mom slapped me three times today because I tried to stop her from bringing a total stranger to our house," Andrew said, rushing through the sentence so fast it sounded like he was being kidnapped.

There was a little silence on the other end before Paul finally spoke.

"With another guy?" Paul asked firmly.

He knew he had been sleeping around for the past few months, but nothing gave his wife the right to do that.

She was his and his alone. If he chose to sleep with her, fine. If not, she had no right whatsoever to go sleep with another man.

"Yes sir, she did. I saw them in the house and tried to confront her but she slapped me three times. Three good times," Andrew said, his voice still boiling in anger.

"Right in front of my friends, disgracing me so badly. And most especially, that bastard saw everything too," Andrew said, finally completing his statement.

But still, it took his dad some time to respond. Whether he was literally chugging some beer or thinking about what to do next was unclear.

Despite Andrew’s angry demeanor, he couldn’t really tell for sure if his dad was going to buy the idea and teach his mom a good lesson or not. After all, he was closer to his dad than to his mom.

But his dad’s final reply satisfied him to the core.

"Don’t worry. Tonight she would learn a hard, bitter lesson. Just get my whips ready."
