My Perfect Female CEO

Chapter 1571: The Choice of Poisoning

The plot of Hunter Cat and others to disrupt the birthday party scene was being carried out in full swing.

Though Ye Fan had been anticipating and preparing for this, he still couldn’t grasp the movements of Hunter Cat and his group’s dynamics, given the current situation.

How exactly the enemy intends to act poses a significant challenge for Ye Fan.

"The possibility of lethal weapons entering the site is zero. Under tight scrutiny, any threatening weapon cannot escape our inspection, and the enemy won’t be foolish enough to do something so blatantly flawed," Ye Fan remarked cautiously and gravely to the task force.

Once the birthday party begins, the safety of everyone on-site will rest on his shoulders, which is an enormous pressure, compelling him to proceed with caution.

"Items easy to conceal and evade our checks can only be personal accessories entering the party scene. This is where we need special attention," Zhang Lu stated confidently, "I am directly responsible for and supervising the party site work, and all security measures are flawless. I can guarantee that."

"I have meticulously screened the guest list; their backgrounds and connections are clear with no suspicious persons identified, which precisely proves that the enemy we face is more threatening and destructive. One careless mistake could lead to endless trouble," Li Tong highlighted how deeply hidden the enemy was.

Zhang Lu, Li Tong, and others spoke in turn, sharing all their perspectives and thoughts, so they could solve the problem as comprehensively as possible.

"How will the enemy act? Does anyone have any ideas?" Ye Fan posed the question.

After thorough discussions and consensus, the possibility of poisoning ranked highest. Only poisoning satisfies the two conditions Hunter Cat and others seek in their actions: First, the assassination method is simple, requiring only trace amounts of chemical poison to achieve the desired effect, not needing many participants in the action.

Second, to cause widespread casualties, only this method meets Hunter Cat’s ultimate goal.

"Focusing our defense against enemy poisoning sounds simple, but execution is fraught with challenges," Li Tong spoke with grave seriousness.

"We face a major challenge; none of us knows which guest on the list will act or when and where they’ll strike," Zhang Lu said.

"Our best course is focused defense, keeping a close watch on anyone exhibiting unusual behavior, monitoring those near the beverage and eating areas. Even if we mistakenly apprehend someone, we can’t let them go. Any sign of suspicion, capture immediately," Ye Fan made arrangements, fortunate to have ample manpower to handle any sudden crisis or situation.

Next, regarding detailed security measures and steps, Ye Fan and others engaged in open discussion.

Flowers bloom differently, each expressing its own.

Hunter Cat and Transforming Mouse were still negotiating their action plans.

"Our insiders are few, only Hamster and Bamboo Mouse remain. This action inevitably calls for these two to act in secret, with a high probability of exposure. Since exposure is unavoidable, we must exhaust all resources, sparing no expense, to create the widest impact," Hunter Cat stated harshly.

He clearly understood the situation, with no ambiguity.

Currently, his subordinates have no grounds for action; only insiders have opportunities to act.

If it weren’t necessary, he wouldn’t heartlessly sacrifice his chess pieces.

Without these pieces, he’d be blind within the institute.

Such consequences are ones he doesn’t wish to see, and losses he can’t bear.

Yet, forced to this extent, Hunter Cat must act despite reluctance and unwillingness. Confronted with Mr. Jin’s close surveillance and the organization’s potential wrath, he can only display his greatest value.

Otherwise, he faces nothing but death.

"Once Bamboo Mouse and Hamster act, they’ll naturally yield unexpected results. In my view, we only have two insiders within the institute. It’s unnecessary to expose both during this action, as it will disadvantage our future actions," Transforming Mouse advised.

Establishing insiders took immense effort and resources.

Now, to abandon them, Transforming Mouse naturally opposed such an outcome and hoped to retain them prudently.

"With our action, everything must be foolproof; should Bamboo Mouse or Hamster show weakness, we have other backup plans. If either achieves my desired outcome, everything’s accomplished. Even in case of setbacks, there are remedies," Hunter Cat spoke self-assuredly.

For certainty, he couldn’t allow any accidents, demanding actions proceed per his intentions.

This was Hunter Cat’s extremely prudent decision after careful thought.

"Your decision is correct, but the cost is too high," Transforming Mouse hesitated: "Such costs are unsustainable. If incurred, we’ll lose our footing, and without adequate value, Mr. Jin can represent the organization to punish you. It’s an outcome we wish to avoid, so always keep backup plans for yourself."

"Your concerns are understandable," Hunter Cat sighed: "Yet now, I’m forced to act. If I don’t, I may die; risk is necessary. Continuous failures and losses have severely disappointed the organization. Success this time could provide peace of mind, but with no achievements, my situation worsens."

Transforming Mouse’s eyes darted, realizing Hunter Cat’s position, and resolutely declared: "I’ll follow all your instructions without doubt."

She was responsible for probing and investigating Mr. Jin.

What rendered her powerless and despondent was failing to discover anything about Mr. Jin, who hid like a transparent entity.

This was Transforming Mouse’s failure, sometimes even making her suspect Mr. Jin might not exist?

The organization might have fabricated him to pressure Hunter Cat intentionally.

But such reasoning fails, and Mr. Jin truly exists.

Thus, faced with the situation, Transforming Mouse agreed to Hunter Cat’s risky actions.

"Prepare the poison, I expect good news," Hunter Cat unyieldingly ordered.

Transforming Mouse nodded with a fierce look.
