Chapter 1536 - 1537: Decentralization
Ye Fan and Uncle Sun were not only focused on the chess game in front of them but also on the chess game beyond the small board.
The external crisis, that’s the real big game.
Uncle Sun had a broad vision and strong strategic oversight, which provided Ye Fan with extremely valuable advice.
Ye Fan gained a lot; with Uncle Sun’s assistance, it played an indispensable guiding role in future arrangements and situations.
"With your full support, I will be able to achieve unimaginable value in the institute. I express my thanks in advance," Ye Fan said respectfully, having no choice but to value this elderly man.
"This is what I ought to do, no need for thanks. If you need anything, just ask, don’t stand on ceremony," Uncle Sun said with a smile. "As an old man, it’s satisfying enough to still contribute in any small way."
Throughout his life, Uncle Sun worked diligently for his beliefs and career, naturally understanding the importance of priorities.
Therefore, he was fully in agreement with Ye Fan’s ideas.
Uncle Sun’s value was remarkable, not as simple as he had stated.
Given Ye Fan’s emphasis on him, it’s quite evident.
"Since Uncle Sun says so, I won’t stand on ceremony; nor will there be any reluctance," Ye Fan said casually. "Whenever there’s an issue, I’ll speak directly, without hiding anything from you."
"That’s how it should be, and that’s what makes me happy," Uncle Sun responded solemnly.
In dealing with Uncle Sun, being direct and straightforward is more important than anything else.
In doing so, Uncle Sun will feel satisfied.
Recognizing this, Ye Fan felt assured and could freely and boldly take action, with no need to be secretive.
An hour passed in the blink of an eye.
Ye Fan and Uncle Sun’s focus was more on the crisis beyond the chessboard, not caring much about wins or losses on the board.
Zhang Lu, Li Tong, and Zhao Gongming arrived.
"Uncle Sun, Leader Ye," Zhao Gongming said with a smile, "As per Leader Ye’s instructions, the internal systems of the institute have undergone thorough testing; deficiencies have been addressed, and some flawed blind spots now have monitoring. It’s no exaggeration to say that the slightest movements within the institute won’t escape the watchful eye of surveillance."
"This is just the first step; relying solely on technical monitoring isn’t enough. There needs to be unity of hearts to prevent internal decay. Internal distress always outweighs external threats," Uncle Sun said without lifting his head.
"Uncle Sun is right," Zhao Gongming solemnly replied.
"There’s something I need to inform you about, from now on, our people will be responsible for the monitoring system in the control room," Ye Fan said, glancing at Zhao Gongming decisively.
"This? But?" Zhao Gongming was anxious and confused, asking, "Doesn’t this breach protocol? Is there a written or verbal order?"
Zhao Gongming was fully in charge of this area, and he wouldn’t object to Ye Fan testing the monitoring system.
However, Ye Fan wanting to decentralize authority made him unhappy.
"Zhao Gongming, all arrangements and moves within the institute should follow the decisions of the action group leader, do I need to emphasize that?" Uncle Sun looked at Zhao Gongming displeased, calling him by name.
"I wouldn’t dare," under Uncle Sun’s firm gaze, Zhao Gongming felt a chill and hurriedly said, "It’s my mistake; I forgot the previous orders. Please forgive me, Uncle Sun and Leader Ye, don’t hold it against me."
"Captain Zhao just needs to do what he’s supposed to do. Don’t worry about anything else," Ye Fan sternly advised.
"Yes," Zhao Gongming nodded obediently.
