Chapter 1471: Battle
Boss Zuo and Peng Bird, along with eight others, stood in opposition to the incoming enemies. Clearly, Clive and his crew arrived in force, intimidating and overwhelming, with expressions that could crush everything. However, this didn’t exert any pressure on Boss Zuo and his team; instead, they seemed quite relaxed.
This felt abnormal. Clive was puzzled, and the other people around him displayed expressions of bewilderment.
What was really going on?
Why was it like this?
Shouldn’t the enemy be trembling with fear, worried they’d be slaughtered by them?
When strength is compared, generally anyone can see what kind of outcome this should be.
Yet unbelievably, the reaction from Boss Zuo and his group was beyond expectations, causing pressure that made Clive involuntarily uneasy.
"Something’s not right, definitely not right." Such thoughts arose deep inside Clive’s heart, becoming increasingly confused the more he thought.
"Why do I feel a jolt of fear? The way these people look at us, as if they’re looking at idiots. Yes, with the contempt one has for idiots." The experts next to Clive were not ordinary people; at the present moment, they could sense the situation was unfavorable. Though they couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong, the feeling of unease was overwhelming.
"Boss Zuo, Peng Bird." Clive stared at these seemingly peculiar individuals before him, saying with indifference, "One a major figure, the other a sneaky assassin leader. Unexpectedly, you too have times of colluding."
The current situation was dire, and Clive dared not act rashly, only speaking tentatively.
"Colluding? Ha." Boss Zuo sneered, saying, "You are the most treacherous fox, doing distasteful things behind the scenes. This time, you even dare to take advantage by stealing from us, what audacity."
"Whoever has the biggest fists, some things are destined to belong to them; this is an eternal principle, no arguments." Clive looked at Boss Zuo, saying, "From your words, the items in Western Ancient’s hands are indeed with your group."
"So what if they are, so what if they aren’t." Boss Zuo replied to himself, "Wanting to snatch things from us, shouldn’t you think whether you have the capacity?"
"Now, you’re almost at death’s door, yet still so boastful?" Clive spoke with disdain.
"At death’s door? Heh, not necessarily, who’ll live or die remains unknown." Peng Bird laughed sinisterly.
Clive grew increasingly uneasy, losing all confidence, unsure what kind of plot the other side was harboring.
"Playing tricks, with just a few of you, you dare to be so arrogant, it’s truly laughable." Clive shouted.
Gradually, his confidence and killing intent surged back to his mind. Having surveilled Boss Zuo continuously, along with understanding the prowess of Boss Zuo and his peers, he firmly believed they were absolutely not opponents.
Understanding this matter, his heart filled with great confidence, viewing the eccentricity of Boss Zuo and the others with indifference.
It seemed obvious then that Boss Zuo and his cohorts, knowing their impending death, were deliberately trying to scare them.
"What counts about having many people?" Peng Bird spoke disdainfully, "You think being numerous makes you great?"
"I reckon I see through it, all your pretending to be unafraid, must be trembling inside, surely." Clive’s face sank, seemingly discovering a special secret, instantly exposing their disguise, confidently saying, "It’s all useless. You won’t scare us, only death awaits you."
"You figured that out? You sure are clever." Boss Zuo smiled cunningly.
Clive tried probing from every angle, but found nothing amiss. His barely composed mind once again displayed a lack of assurance.
"Could they be deliberately stalling for time? Are there ambushes?" Clive thought of this possibility.
Soon, he dismissed it, thinking what good would ambushes do? Surely they would end up being dealt with?
With such a formidable lineup beside him, any ambush couldn’t hinder him, this was evident logic.
Considering this, Clive dared not act, gathering with his people just in case of unforeseen incidents, relying on everyone’s explosive power to escape any trap.
If his people were dispersed and then ambushed, it would become tremendously difficult to unite their forces.
"Kill, seeing these people are purely faking calmness, since they won’t cry until seeing the coffin, there’s no need for hesitation." A subordinate impatiently said to Clive, looking furious.
"No matter what scheming or traps you have, what does it amount to?" Clive said disdainfully, "In absolute strength, any cunning tricks are weak and flimsy."
Clive couldn’t hesitate anymore, nor linger unsolved; he had to make a decision.
He believed whatever confusion lay ahead, it wouldn’t be something the enemy could counter.
In absolute strength, all oddities are in vain.
Boss Zuo and Peng Bird paid no heed to Clive’s words, remaining indifferent.
"Kill, execute them, resolve this battle in the shortest time possible," Clive ordered.
Upon uttering these words, his subordinates immediately lunged, surging forward to encircle Boss Zuo and Peng Bird’s group of nine.
"I’ll see what guts you have to boast this way," Clive roared, charging towards Boss Zuo with provocation, "Die!"
"Meet them!" Peng Bird, George, Mountain Ghost, and others fearlessly went forth.
"As you wish, but I fear the one dying might be you," Boss Zuo lunged at Clive.
"Stop boasting war words!" Clive shouted.
Battle commenced.
Members from both camps clashed.
After all, Clive’s group held a clear advantage in numbers, applying pressure on Peng Bird’s group from the outset, though they paid it no mind, unleashing their innate ferocity.
Clive’s team, naturally using strength to suppress, wished to swiftly conclude the fight.
However, right as it began, they noticed something off, stunned directly.
This group before them was utterly fearless, what a bizarre occurrence?
Then Clive was the first to be baffled.
His subordinates revealed expressions of astonishment.
In their sight appeared several new figures, as Clive’s gaze fell upon Ye Fan, he nearly stumbled in shock.
