On the third morning after the island siege ended, eleven airships belonging to the players took off simultaneously, carrying fully armed warriors to the merfolk-occupied waters.

On the sea surface, Babro’s eight pirate ships were blockading and providing support, and the wandering priests of the Temple of the Giant Rock teamed up to raise tides and alter ocean currents, leaving the merfolk no way to escape to the open sea. The Tidal Hunter Avengers were already prepared to charge straight into the merfolk nest and utterly destroy these foul creatures.

This attack wasn’t prepared this quickly originally, mainly because the Temple of the Giant Rock suffered significant losses in the previous battle. However, with the covert support of Li Ji, this true big boss, it was only natural that the temple proceeded with the underwater merfolk nest attack.

Even though Mannis’s seal reduced all attributes to 30%, allowing the display of at most one-third of a demigod’s power, Li Ji’s innate ability to control clouds and rain alongside the assistance of the newly appointed Rain Princess Dragon Descendant LiWen, was enough. Just through the spellcasting of these two "Little Dragon God" ladies, they dispersed the ceaseless storm over the sea.

At the moment, a new Daguan Holy Child had not yet emerged within this merfolk clan, and faced with such a menacing assault, the merfolk hiding among the sea rocks had no rights for reconciliation, being forced to fight.

But they have a hard time winning.

On one hand, the previous attack on the Temple of the Giant Rock’s stronghold left them with heavy losses. On the other hand, half of this merfolk clan’s members were busy assisting the wolf people on the Northern Peninsula in their assault on the Golden Flower Army.

They appear as a black cloud, full of momentum, but in reality, they are truly at the end of their resources.

Based on previous veteran tests, although underwater combat with this state isn’t as smooth as on land, at least they won’t be dragged into the deep sea and drowned by the merfolk.

Unfortunately, this isn’t permanent, and it offers no bonus for kinetic weaponry.

This means firearms are obviously unusable for underwater combat, but that’s fine, as the second batch of airships brought players harpoon guns and depth charges from the half-body men’s inventory.

These were weapons the half-body men traditionally used against merfolk, similar in appearance to long rifles. Equipped with harpoons as ammunition and rapid reload functions, they are highly lethal underwater, capable of taking down merfolk with a single shot.

However, players’ actual demand for these new weapons is quite low.

Even without firearms, they can still engage in close combat underwater—taking the time to reload a harpoon gun when they could charge in for a ferocious slaughter is hardly satisfying given merfolk’s weak individual combat strength that cannot compare to the wolf-like players in one-on-one confrontations.

"Don’t you think the half-body men should also put some effort into submarine development?"

Old Qu complained while carrying a harpoon gun, muttering to Brother Black Silk beside him:

"There are airships, so a few submarines shouldn’t be too difficult, right? Long-distance torpedo attacks should be the way to win."
