Chapter 491 - 276: First Attempt at the Top 100
He had asked everyone he could, leaving him no choice but to ask an expert like Qing Cang.
"Morning Star Essence?" Qing Cang stopped in his tracks, looking over in surprise. "Where did you hear about that?"
"I just happened to hear someone mention it," Su Chen said evasively.
Qing Cang eyed him suspiciously. "Just happened to hear someone mention it? That’s a rare material only the Royal Court possesses. Very few people know about it. Who did you hear it from?"
"It was that group—Wei Zhenghong, Shen Yi’an, and the others. Someone brought it up at a gathering, acting all mysterious about it, which made me curious," Su Chen explained, quickly steering the conversation back on track.
"What is that stuff, anyway? Does it have anything to do with the Morning Star Tier?"
Qing Cang paused to think. "That thing... is actually a physical extract from a Morning Star Tier Professional. It’s their bone marrow."
"Bone marrow?" Su Chen was stunned, not expecting it to be so literal. "Does only the Royal Court have it?" he couldn’t help but ask. "I thought every Sect has Morning Star Tier Professionals."
Qing Cang explained, "The physical makeup of those at the Morning Star Tier is unique. Only the Royal Court possesses the technology to extract and preserve their bone marrow. The substance is exceptionally precious; it can instantly fulfill the requirements for a Physical Side profession and is useful even to a Tier Nine Professional."
"I see." Su Chen fell into thought. He now understood what Morning Star Essence was, but it seemed he had no chance of getting his hands on it.
But then a thought struck him. "In that case, might the Royal Court offer this stuff as a reward at the Peak Star Conference?"
"I’m not sure." Qing Cang eyed Su Chen with growing suspicion. "What do you want it for?"
"Who wouldn’t want something that good?" Su Chen replied as if it were obvious. ’Old Qing is just too curious, has to ask about everything.’
Su Chen quickly changed the subject. "In that case, the Profound Celestial Instrument won’t be leaving anytime soon, right? After all, Tang Xiuqi is here."
"Tang Xiuqi is past the age limit; he won’t participate in this Peak Star Conference." Qing Cang shook his head but then added, "However, the Profound Celestial Instrument won’t be leaving for a while. After this is all over, it will head directly to Wang Ting."
"If there’s nothing else, I’m off." Qing Cang was indeed busy. He glanced at a message on his wristband, but this time his expression turned ugly. "He really knows how to pick his moments," Qing Cang snorted. "Becoming the head of Tier Six now of all times."
"Oh?" Su Chen couldn’t help but look up. "Is it Qin Tianlin?"
He’d heard Wei Zhenghong and the others mention a while back that the guy was progressing quite fast.
"Yes." Qing Cang’s face was grim. "He even went out of his way to do it at the Challenge Center, making it such a high-profile event. You’d think he was ascending to the Morning Star Tier."
He grew frustrated just thinking about the members of Qin Yun’s faction cheering ecstatically in the Challenge Center.
Then, Qing Cang sighed. "But still, with the Divine Dawn Talent, it was only a matter of time."
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly glanced toward the challenge room, then looked back at Su Chen. "You were just challenging the top ranks of the Holy List. What’s your ranking now?"
"Currently, rank ninety-nine," Su Chen replied honestly.
"Rank ninety-nine on the Holy List?" Qing Cang was stunned, clearly shocked. He pulled up the Holy List rankings to confirm and grew even more astonished. "You actually managed to break into the top hundred?"
He stared at Su Chen. The top hundred Tier Six Professionals were not to be underestimated; their Main Profession and special professions were all part of synergistic builds.
It was already extremely difficult for a Tier Four to fight a Tier Five. For a Tier Five to fight a Tier Six was as hard as ascending to the heavens, especially against these Sect disciples, who had practically no weaknesses.
Basically, every Tier Six Professional has six or seven special professions. At least two or three of those directly amplify combat power, and in some extreme cases, they might even have four.
’For Su Chen to break into the top hundred, he must have put in an immense amount of effort.’
As a mentor in the Holy Hall, he had seen too many people who, confident in their Talent, achieved fame at a young age, only to indulge in pleasure and ultimately fade into mediocrity.
Su Chen’s Heart was the quality he admired most.
"Not bad, not bad at all," Qing Cang nodded repeatedly. "Perhaps in two years, you won’t be limited to just spectating."
As Qing Cang left, his mood was clearly much improved.
After seeing Old Qing off, Su Chen’s gaze returned to the challenge room.
’Qin Tianlin, the top-ranked?’
