My Professions Have Too Much Personality

Chapter 462 - 262: Canglan Star

"How many ports have external connections?" Su Chen frowned as he looked at the dense cluster of star ports. His sensory range was limited; it was impossible for him to cover the entire planet.

"There are many star ports with external connections, but most of them are resource ports for transporting cargo. They’re outbound only."

Ming Lin explained, "There aren’t many passenger ports, and to make inspections easier, they’re all clustered in one area. This isn’t a tourist planet, after all."

"That’s good."

Su Chen followed Ming Lin to the passenger star port area. The person in charge there knew Ming Lin well, and upon seeing Su Chen, they greeted him with an almost unbelievable level of enthusiasm, arranging the best room and providing every possible convenience.

’I wonder how many days it’ll take for them to arrive.’ Su Chen closed the door, the smile on his face vanishing as he stroked his chin.

Teng Liang, Bu Siqi, and the others quickly got to work. As expected of a handpicked team, they all adapted to the workflow and settled into their roles with ease.

......

「Several days later.」

A battered-looking spaceship passed through the Star Gate, swaying as it arrived at the outer port of Canglan Star.

With a loud RUMBLE, it was guided by mechanical arms and slotted into a portside berth. The internal shock absorbers were so primitive that quite a few passengers threw up on the spot.

"We’ve finally arrived."

Black Tuo’s eyes snapped open. He and Wuwang got up, melting into the crowd, grabbing their luggage, and lining up to disembark.

"So stupid. Another five Morning Star Tier masters died in the Lost Flame, and its power surged as a result. Trying to cause its fall will be much more difficult now."

Wuwang was still discussing the matter with Black Tuo, who replied covertly, "The Lost Flame has always been strange. Causing its fall is extremely difficult."

Wuwang then probed, "Has there been any news from the Bronze Sect? What did Qin Yun say?"

Black Tuo shook his head. "No news whatsoever."

Wuwang’s brow furrowed slightly, unsure if Black Tuo was telling the truth. ’And that Believer the Father God mentioned still hasn’t contacted me,’ he grumbled to himself.

’Fan Zhao is Qin Yun’s student. He should know something...’

The Lost Flame was quite famous among the Deceitful God’s followers. They all wanted to cause its fall, to make it enter the Nether Realm, which might allow the Great Deceitful God to undergo another transformation. But so far, no one had succeeded.

The line shuffled forward slowly, with occasional arguments flaring up as people tried to cut in.

After a good half hour, the two finally disembarked. They glanced around; the passenger port wasn’t very crowded.

They still had to queue for an inspection to be checked for contraband and any connections to the Deceitful God before they could leave the port and head for Canglan Star.

They already knew this, so they made no fuss and dutifully found an inspection checkpoint to queue up at.

"When will you need me to provide concealment?" Wuwang asked.

"Not yet. It’s just a simple inspection," Black Tuo said, shaking his head. "I haven’t met our contact yet. We’ll discuss it after the meeting. I’ll let you know when I need you."

Wuwang nodded, reined in his aura, and casually scanned his surroundings.

Suddenly, his face froze. His pupils constricted, and his body trembled as if he had seen something unbelievable.

Black Tuo, with his keen perception, noticed Wuwang’s odd reaction and asked discreetly, "What is it?"

"It’s him!" Wuwang’s voice was low, his gaze locked onto a specific direction.

"Who?" Black Tuo grew vigilant. He followed Wuwang’s gaze and saw a slender, expressionless man in lightweight black armor.

He didn’t seem special—just a Tier Five Professional. Black Tuo took a moment to sense his power. ’A flawed Tier Five at that,’ he thought. "Who is he?"

"Teng Liang." Wuwang spat out the two words, his eyes glued to the man.

He would never forget that face for the rest of his life. Back on Red Thunder Star, he had just infiltrated the planet and hadn’t even made a move before he was inexplicably discovered.

He never expected to see the man again here, in the Bronze Sect’s territory.

"So that’s Teng Liang?" Black Tuo narrowed his eyes. The man didn’t look like anything special. ’How could he have possibly detected the infiltration of a Faceless Ghost Divine Son?’

"Are you sure he’s the one who discovered you?" he asked doubtfully.

"I’m almost certain," Wuwang said in a low voice. "However, my host body last time was too frail, so I couldn’t exert much of my power. This time... he shouldn’t be able to detect me."

"Why would he be here?" Black Tuo asked, confused.

"He’s Su Chen’s senior brother... Perhaps Su Chen brought him here," Wuwang explained.

"Su Chen’s senior brother?" Black Tuo hadn’t known about this. He shot Wuwang a deep look. ’So this guy is keeping an eye on Su Chen too.’

’When the time comes to take Su Chen, I’ll have to watch out for this one...’

While on patrol, Teng Liang felt a sudden unease, as if something was watching him. He scanned the area but found nothing, which left him feeling puzzled.

’He probably didn’t notice us.’ Wuwang breathed a sigh of relief as Teng Liang walked away.

But then his heart gave a sudden lurch. He looked up in a specific direction—it was the aura of a Faceless Ghost Follower.

To find his own people more quickly, he hadn’t suppressed the sense that connected the Believers.

"What is it now?" Black Tuo frowned. Wuwang was so jumpy, it was starting to make him uneasy as well.

"It’s nothing." Wuwang shook his head. ’It’s not the right time to meet them yet. I’ll deal with it after I’m finished with Black Tuo.’

......

In the port’s surveillance room, Su Chen stared at two people on a screen. He had already entered his Faceless Ghost Priest state but had layered a mimicry of his own appearance over it. It would be difficult to spot the deception without a deep-level scan.

"The files on these two..." Su Chen said in a low voice. Beside him, Ming Lin quickly opened his Wristband, had a colleague pull up two files, and read their false identities aloud.

"Peng Wei, a Tier Four Professional, here on Canglan Star to visit relatives..."

"Zhang Qi, a Tier Three Professional, here on Canglan Star for work..."

"Should I report this?" Ming Lin asked. Su Chen nodded. "It should be them. Have someone keep an eye on them for now. You go make the report."

Of course, "keeping an eye on them" didn’t mean sending someone to physically tail them—that would be too easy to spot. Instead, they would use the ubiquitous surveillance cameras.

Ming Lin hurried away. Su Chen stared at the two figures on the screen, first deactivating his Faceless Ghost Priest state before pausing in thought.

He then sent a message to Qing Cang. ’Better to be safe than sorry, especially with two Divine Sons involved.’

The pair passed their inspections without any anomalies being detected. They boarded a scheduled Flying Device to Canglan Star and checked into a hotel.

And Qing Cang arrived far more quickly than Su Chen had anticipated.

In just half a day, his senior brother appeared before him, his brow deeply furrowed. Before Su Chen could even speak, he demanded, "Why did you suddenly come to Canglan Star?"

"I placed the people sent from Red Thunder Star on the patrol teams. I came to see how they were doing," Su Chen explained, having already prepared his answer.

"People from Red Thunder Star?" Qing Cang’s eyes flickered. He glanced at Teng Liang standing beside Su Chen and understood. He then added a warning, "Things are a bit sensitive right now. Don’t leave Copper Heart without a good reason."

"Understood." Su Chen nodded. He knew it was the matter with Qin Yun that had put Qing Cang on such high alert.

Qing Cang’s tone then softened as he asked, "You said you discovered Deceitful God’s Followers. What’s the situation?"

"It wasn’t me," Su Chen stressed. "It was Senior Brother Teng Liang. He seems to have a special sense for Deceitful God’s Followers. Back on Red Thunder Star, he was the one who exposed the disguise of the Faceless Ghost Divine Son."

"The disguise of a Faceless Ghost Divine Son?" A flash of surprise flickered in Qing Cang’s eyes as his gaze landed on Teng Liang.

Before Teng Liang could even see him move, Qing Cang’s two fingers touched his forehead. Teng Liang flinched in surprise, and by the time he realized what was happening, Qing Cang had already retracted his hand.

Qing Cang grew even more surprised. ’His Spirit Body is pure and flawless, with no trace of the Deceitful God’s aura.’

A Divine Son was not the same as an ordinary Believer; they possessed some of the Deceitful God’s characteristics. This was especially true for a Faceless Ghost Divine Son, whose Concealment abilities were so high that even he might not be able to see through their disguise.

’And this Teng Liang, a mere Tier Five Professional, has such an ability?’

Teng Liang felt a sense of resignation but could only nod in greeting. "Lord Qing Cang."

"You have such a talent?" Qing Cang asked.

"I can’t say for sure. It’s just a vague feeling," Teng Liang answered evasively.

Meanwhile, Ming Lin, who was standing to the side, pulled up the relevant information. "These two are indeed a bit strange," he said. "We cross-referenced their files and discovered that, based on their histories, they shouldn’t know each other."

"What do you want to do?" Qing Cang asked Su Chen.

"I don’t have much experience with this sort of thing. I’ll defer to your judgment..." Su Chen said, passing the responsibility.

"If they really are Deceitful God’s Followers, a Faceless Divine Son..." Qing Cang’s eyes gleamed. He stroked his chin, staring at the images of the two men on the screen. After a moment of thought, he said, "Let’s not be hasty. Let’s wait and see what they’re up to."
