Chapter 611 - 333: Becoming the Healing Sage
Stepping outside, the soft glow of the Flame Fire shone down. He looked up, squinting slightly, and his mood brightened considerably.
After opening his wristband and sending a few messages, Su Chen started to walk away.
The Creation Copper Heart was in a remote location. Not everyone was qualified to come here, and many within the Sect regarded the place with a certain reverence, so it was rarely visited.
Only after walking for some distance did he finally see other Sect members.
"Su... Su Xingzhong?" someone asked as they approached Su Chen. After a few careful glances, they hurriedly stopped and called out respectfully.
"Hello, hello."
Su Chen, in a fantastic mood, smiled back. The person looked completely flattered, standing to the side and watching him go. Only after Su Chen had departed did they break into a wide grin and start moving again.
Su Chen prided himself on being able to endure loneliness, but four months had been a truly long time. As a result, he responded to everyone who greeted him on the path.
"Huh, is that the Ancient King Stele?"
As he passed through the central plaza, Su Chen glanced with some surprise at the stele, now bound in chains once more.
"This thing actually came back?"
’Is the Ancient King certain this stele is fine now?’ A moment later, Su Chen’s thoughts changed. ’No, that’s not right. The stele was never the problem. The Ancient King knew all along that its unusual activity was because of me; he just chose not to bring it back.’
’Could it be that he sent it back because Qin Tianlin is dead?’
Su Chen couldn’t help but speculate. Ever since the outer layer of Fog Ashes had been cleared, the Ancient King had been intent on settling old scores.
If Qin Tianlin had managed to gain the Ancient King Stele’s acknowledgment, there was no telling what complications might have arisen. That must be why he had kept it away until now.
The moment Qin Tianlin died, it was returned.
Su Chen took a few steps forward and scanned the symbols on the stele again, but this time, his panel showed no reaction.
He wasn’t surprised. The panel would only ever record a Profession once, regardless of whether it was devoured or formally acquired; it would never be recorded a second time.
But he didn’t mind. Forget the Great Venerable, which might evolve to the Moonlight Tier; even for the Ancient King Profession, he would just need to find a way to observe it when the time came. He didn’t need any acknowledgment from this stele.
"Su Xingzhong..."
People kept greeting him along the path, stopping to the side to watch him depart.
At first, Su Chen didn’t think much of it, but as more and more people did the same, he began to sense something was different.
’Even Old Wei and Shen Yi’an don’t get this kind of treatment, do they? Does having Twin Divine Dawns carry this much weight?’
Su Chen muttered to himself as he ambled over to the port, boarded a Flying Device, and returned to his personal Floating Island.
"There’s no place like home."
The moment Su Chen stepped onto his Floating Island, a sense of ease washed over him, and he took a stroll around with keen interest.
Before long, another Flying Device arrived.
"You’ve returned." Ding Fan stepped off the Flying Device with an extremely fawning smile on his face. He presented two metal boxes. "The Starfall Meteoric Iron and the Flawless Crystal are all here."
Su Chen accepted them and replied as usual, "My thanks to Steward Wei for his trouble."
"It was my duty, my duty," Ding Fan said repeatedly, his posture extremely deferential.
The man before him was no longer a mere Star Seed.
Ever since word got out that Su Chen possessed Twin Divine Dawns, rumors had been circulating within the Sect that he would almost certainly inherit the position of Ancient King. By now, the news had spread throughout the entire organization.
To put it another way, the man standing before him was very likely the future Ancient King.
"If you have any orders, just let me know. As for certain resources... if you need them urgently, you can go ahead and take them first," Ding Fan hinted pointedly as he was about to leave.
Su Chen was a little surprised. Ding Fan had always been respectful, but he would never have said something so risky before. He would be held responsible for such an action.
’Feels like something else I don’t know about has happened.’
Su Chen muttered to himself. All the materials needed for the Healing Sage and the Cauldron Maker had been collected.
However, the requirements for the Cauldron Maker weren’t as simple as just absorbing the materials. He had to forge a "cauldron base" through a "Forging Ritual."
The rituals required by Professionals were many and varied, but the Bronze Sect had established procedures for all of them, and the Forging Ritual was no exception.
Not long after Ding Fan left, another group of people arrived.
"Your Excellency Su Chen." Luo Shuhang got out and, upon seeing Su Chen, immediately bowed respectfully.
A large group of people followed him, and they all bowed in unison.
"Captain Luo, we’re old acquaintances. There’s no need to be so formal," Su Chen said with a laugh.
Upon hearing this, an irrepressible smile spread across Luo Shuhang’s lips, while the people behind him shot him envious glances.
There were few opportunities to interact with such an important figure, and they couldn’t find a way to curry his favor even if they wanted to.
Luo Shuhang knew Su Chen well enough not to waste time on small talk and got straight to the point. "The Forging Ritual you mentioned isn’t difficult. It should take about two to three days to set up."
"Alright. Just find an open space and begin preparations. There should be enough room here, right?" Su Chen asked.
"More than enough," Luo Shuhang replied hurriedly. "The Forging Ritual isn’t overly complex. It primarily requires the assistance of four Forging Masters. I’ve already dispatched the order. They were all very enthusiastic when they heard it was for you and are already on their way. As for the materials..."
"They’re already prepared," Su Chen interjected.
"Excellent." Luo Shuhang nodded and immediately led his people to start working.
They chose a secluded corner of the Floating Island, brought out a large quantity of materials, drew a circle, and began to carve symbols.
Su Chen watched for a while and learned from Luo Shuhang that the Forging Ritual essentially treated a person like a weapon, using a special method to infuse external materials into the body.
Compared to direct fusion, this ritual could better preserve certain Traits of the materials. Only some exceptionally powerful Professions had such a requirement.
Su Chen quickly lost interest and returned to his training room. The Cauldron Maker was just one final step away, but everything for the Healing Sage was already prepared.
He took out the Flawless Crystal. It was as thick as his thumb and completely translucent, like an icicle. According to his research, the method for absorbing it was quite simple.
He clenched his fist around it, and with a firm squeeze, a CRACKLING sound echoed.
A moment later, he opened his hand to reveal that the crystal had been crushed into a pile of white powder. He casually grabbed a glass of water, poured the powder in, and drank it down in a single gulp.
Wisps of an icy sensation spread through his entire body, accompanied by a faint, stinging pain. It took several hours before the feeling finally faded.
Both requirements for the Healing Sage were now fulfilled. He had already absorbed the Dust of All Things completely back when he was in the Copper Heart.
With a mere thought, a lustrous halo of light quietly emerged beneath Su Chen’s skin. It wasn’t dazzling, but soft, like the first thaw of spring. Wisps of radiance seeped out from within, as if countless tiny, luminous silkworms were weaving threads through his very flesh and blood.
A warm current surged from deep within his body, silently suffusing his entire frame. There was no sharp pain of snapping bones, no spasms of tearing muscles—just the warm current washing over every inch of his flesh like a gentle tide.
"So comfortable..." Su Chen let out a long sigh of relief.
The Healing Sage was not a Profession that increased physical strength, and the process of acquiring it was accordingly gentle.
[Healing Sage profession acquired. Gained Ability—Weaveheal Mimicry: Solidifies the body’s perfect state into a mimicked form, which can be strengthened with Healing Power.]
’This ability?’ Su Chen looked at the description, not quite understanding.
He immediately began to experiment. The air around him distorted slightly, and faint golden threads of light became visible, darting about like tiny fish. They vaguely formed a humanoid silhouette that covered the surface of his body before merging into his physique.
After a moment, Su Chen began to understand. ’It’s like adding a medical shield to my body. Attacks that would normally injure me will be absorbed by this mimicked layer first. Only after this layer is shattered can the attacks reach my actual body.’
’In other words, it front-loads the healing process. I don’t have to wait until I’m already injured to activate my various healing abilities.’
’Not bad at all...’ After contemplating for a moment, Su Chen couldn’t help but nod. Healing injuries takes time. This ability essentially transformed a supportive medical skill into a direct combat buff.
’It can definitely synergize with Holy Mark Physician. This solidified mimicked form can be reinforced with the Healing Power stored in my Holy Mark Power, which will raise its damage threshold.’
Su Chen felt the Energy within his body gradually stabilize as he examined the Healing Sage’s new ability.
’In that case, it should also have some interesting interactions with my World Slaughter Form.’
