Seeing Su Chen nod, Jiao Beiluo added, "The vessel forged by the ritual cannot be sustained for too long, or it will cause physical damage."

"In other words, the moment the cauldron base is complete, you must assume your profession. This will allow you to use the Power of the Profession to completely integrate the base into your body."

"I understand." Su Chen nodded. He already knew these details.

Luo Shuhang signaled to the Talisman Array Masters standing on either side. They pressed their hands onto the interface of the base, and the symbols upon it lit up one by one. A faint, misty light began to rise from the base’s entire surface.

The shorter of the craftsmen, Master Wang, had already taken out a millstone-sized object—the Heart of the Barren Dragon—and placed it on the metal platform before him.

He held two silver daggers. Their cold gleam was muted, and their edges were so thin they were almost translucent, like scalpels. As he prepared, the symbols at his feet lit up.

His eyes narrowed. With a twitch of his fingertips, he slid one of the daggers against the layer of Dark Gold Scale Armor on the heart’s surface, slicing open a thin fissure. The sound was a dull tearing, like thick silk ripping.

The heart, as dark as clotted blood, trembled violently. Crimson fluid gushed out. When the droplets of blood hit the metal platform, they didn’t splatter. Instead, they bounced up as if alive, transforming into blood-red threads that crept toward Su Chen.

By the time they reached him, they had condensed into a fine red mist, barely visible to the naked eye. The mist silently coiled around Su Chen’s ankles and wrists.

As the blood touched him, Su Chen felt his skin grow scorching hot. Master Wang, however, hadn’t stopped. The dissected muscle fibers rustled as they were stripped away, turning into Crimson particles even finer than dust that refused to fall.

Instead, they floated and danced within the steaming blood mist, swirling around Su Chen.

When the dissection of the Heart of the Barren Dragon was halfway complete, the master craftsman on the other side also began to act. A brownish-gray Earthen Core lay on his metal platform, its surface covered in fine, natural lines like the growth rings of a tree.

He held a small metal hammer no bigger than his palm, its head glowing with a cold, eerie blue light. With a gentle flick of his wrist, the hammer struck with a peculiar rhythm—DONG... TAP... TING.

The three sounds layered over one another, each strike landing with perfect precision. A brownish-gray powder flaked away like morning mist and, drawn by the symbols at his feet, converged.

It mixed into the tide of blood from the Heart of the Barren Dragon. Countless golden veins silently blossomed within the dark liquid. A strange, brownish-gold luster appeared on the blood tide’s surface as its viscosity climbed, turning the once-rushing torrent into a heavy, sluggish swell.

’This ritual is truly incredible.’ Su Chen watched the two craftsmen work. The last time he’d encountered a ritualistic requirement like this was when he became a Wind Dancer.

That one hadn’t been nearly so complex or detailed. This forging ritual, however, was infinitely more elaborate.

Before he could dwell on it, his body suddenly tensed. The sensation from the Heart of the Barren Dragon had been one of searing heat, but after the powder from the Earthen Core was added, a sharp, stinging pain, as if he were being stabbed by countless needles, spread through his entire body.

At the same time, Jiao Beiluo finally made his move. His metal platform was slightly different. He slapped his palms on either side of it, and a torrent of red fire erupted, engulfing the Starfall Meteorite Iron before him. The surface of the metal began to ripple with dark red waves.

He had studied the Starfall Meteorite Iron for the past two or three days and knew its composition perfectly. His control over the heat was flawless.

In moments, its surface glowed red-hot before melting into a crimson, lava-like liquid that also flowed toward Su Chen, guided by the symbols on the floor.

As the molten Starfall Meteorite Iron mixed with the blood of the Barren Dragon, a crimson halo swirled on the surface. Billowing waves of heat carried the sharp tang of hot metal.

Su Chen felt a dry heat suffuse his body, which grew heavy, as if he were carrying a mountain on his shoulders.

"Get ready!" Guan Lin roared. Luo Shuhang’s eye twitched. The master craftsman had already raised a great hammer, his biceps knotting with the effort. The massive, millstone-sized black iron hammer, suspended in mid-air, fell straight toward the crown of Su Chen’s head.

Even though he knew this was part of the forging ritual, Luo Shuhang couldn’t help but flinch.

CLANG!

A sharp metallic ringing echoed out. The massive hammer stopped less than a centimeter from Su Chen’s skull.

A tidal wave of ripples washed over Su Chen’s entire body. The concoction surrounding him—a mixture of flesh and blood from the Heart of the Barren Dragon, powder from the Earthen Core, and molten Starfall Meteorite Iron—was struck by the force.

It seemed to shatter in that instant. Countless fine threads of Red Gold shot out from its depths. Like living creatures, they wrapped around, tore at, and restructured the mixture’s surface, then fused together again. The substance became increasingly viscous, glowing with a Red Gold luster.

Su Chen’s scalp went numb. The force of the blow might as well have struck him directly; the muscles all over his body rippled like waves.

"Can you still take it?" Guan Lin’s voice rang in Su Chen’s ear. The master frowned. He had no idea what kind of profession this was to have such high resilience at only Tier Six.

This forging ritual was designed primarily for Tier Eight individuals. It was rare to see even a Tier Seven professional attempt it, as the physical burden was immense.

Furthermore, the three materials Su Chen had prepared were all incredibly potent. Even though Su Chen’s physical resilience was comparable to someone at Tier Seven, Guan Lin wasn’t sure if the Star Seed could actually endure it all.

"No problem," Su Chen said, taking a deep breath. He had anticipated this. He began to empower the Secret Artifacts fused within his body, quickly pushing them to Tier Seven. His physical fortitude rose in response.

"Good! Worthy of someone who can forge a Holy Profession at only Tier Six." Guan Lin’s eyes lit up. He looked at Su Chen as if he were seeing a piece of flawless, raw material.

In a forging ritual, the person is the vessel. Very few master craftsmen ever get to experience something like this. Since Su Chen could take it, Guan Lin decided not to hold back. "Then I’ll continue!"
