"If you're going to hang out with that 'right eye' for a long time, I think it's worth listening to this old man's explanation."

You can't say no (no) to me.

Once I was hired by the brave Falcon, supposedly the Demon King lurking - and actually lurking - to accompany the A-rank dungeon "The Millennium Corridor of Naruto," truncated at the bottom of the labyrinth by the brave man's mistake paperwork.

Successful escape thanks to the evolution of [repair] skills after a hellish wandering turns out to be the end of a brave party not returning.

They suspected me of being the cause, and the Silver Wings Knights were dispatched to investigate - that was clearly a turning point in my life.

The minister himself told me that he would tell me what was going on back then. As much as I want you to tell me if there is a reason why I can refuse.

The Duke of Kingswell ordered the five-man show soldier to leave, leaving only three, including Garnett, before he began speaking.

"First off, I just want to make sure of one thing. I wonder how the Lord recognizes the existence of the Gods."

"... in return for faith, it is a being that gives human beings skills. I couldn't even imagine if you were a personable being or not... but now you're leaning a little towards the former"

Unconsciously take one hand near your right eye.

In the midst of a death battle with the Demon King, an existence named God that appeared in my consciousness when I was put up in the abyss of death with a mortal wound, the Alphazur.

He has demanded that my body be dawned upon, but when he resolutely refused, he pulled back clean, letting "The Right Eye of Ji" dwell in my right eye and disappeared.

A series of stories has been reported to the right place, and while it is not surprising that the Duke of Kingswell knows it, no new information is available at all at the moment.

It's also unclear if there's a situation and I'm lying low, or if I really don't know anything yet.

"Fine. Countless gods are worshipped in Westland, and countless faiths exist, professionally and regionally. Based on that, I need you to listen to me."

As the Duke slowly put it, he began to talk about the real deal and the doings.

"The entrance and exit of the 'Millennial Corridor of Nara' was once in the territory of our clan. As a result of the redistribution of territory about ten years ago, it is now under His Majesty's direct authority."

It was information I had no idea about either, but whatever you think, the real deal is still ahead of me, so I listen first without pinching any extra mouth.

"Once upon a time, before I inherited the governor... my brother, who was the original successor, indulged in the investigation of that labyrinth as to what the hell he thought and threw away all his responsibilities as a successor"

…………

"After my family gave up (...) my brother and switched my successor to me, I essentially abandoned my brother and decided to make him like me."

For a moment, the thing about Theodore crosses the back of my brain.

While he is the man of the Beaufort family, a borderline uncle, he is plenty inclined to hunt for his hobby dragon.

But in his case, he's probably standing around pretty well because he still doesn't look like he's limited from his parents' house.

"My brother immersed himself in research and research both the day he came and the day he came. Even after the labyrinth came under the control of the Adventurer Guild, it seemed so intrusive that I negotiated with the Guild without even knowing it and got permission to continue my investigation"

The Duke smiled bitterly across his face and shook his neck aloft.

"But the achievement... honestly, it was all I had to laugh at. When I said that the luminescent moss of the labyrinth would be a drug for immortality, and I fried it and drank it and was dying, I was so seriously lost that I didn't want to call a doctor."

From the mouthfeel of the Duke, there is no doubt that the investigation and the doings were as if they were a futile substitute.

"Such a fool finally turned down the news not long before the dwarves living in the back of the labyrinth asked us for help."

"Does that mean... that your brother advised you to seek rescue on the ground?

"I don't know. We're investigating. Number one, that's not the main point."

I didn't think so, so I asked, but unfortunately, they were misguided.

"When I was to send a brave man to the Lord of Demons, I recommended the Falcon of the Tiger Son, but did not report the results of my brother's research"

…… Why is that?

"Because I wasn't in a position to report it. Imagine a room nearly three times larger than this one filled with cluttered bundles of paper. I have no idea which of these is useful information."

Think of the scene as you were told, and I immediately convince you from the bottom of my heart.

It takes a huge amount of time to extract (...) Ri (...), which may be suspicious to exist, from a sea of information that is neither organized nor selected for rounding up.

"This is what I thought from the bottom of my heart when I found out that Falcon had not returned and that only your Lord had found a new 'power' to survive - 'No way!' And."

The Duke suddenly reinforced his tone and embarked himself on the executive desk.

"The day before I went to the last investigation, my brother was telling me his latest hypothesis and his ideas. Says - there is no God in this world, skill is the power to dwell in the flesh, and that labyrinth has the effect of drawing strength - right. Whatever it was, I laughed at it."

I have to be surprised at the exact match.

The hypothesis that the misrills that make up the labyrinth, or the magic of self-restoration applied to the labyrinth, evolved my [restoration] skills, was emanated from the mouth of Demon King Gandalf.

Furthermore, it was an alphazle like no other that stated that skill was the power to dwell in the flesh, not the soul.

"I was really worried about whether I should report my brother's" hypothesis "or not. Now my sanity can be questioned when it comes to the possibility that God doesn't exist."

…………

"But in the unlikely event that failure to report would be to the detriment of the Kingdom, it would undoubtedly be pursued with responsibility. Even if Your Majesty forgives us, the wind from other nobles is determined to be stronger"

That's well...... that could be true.

At that point, we only knew that 'skills evolved while wandering through the labyrinth', and there was no basis anywhere to assume that that was due to interference from the labyrinth.

Even if I may, I agreed to be seen with a white eye if presented in great seriousness in a political setting.

But if nothing is done, there will always be someone to blame for 'why didn't you tell me' when it developed into a catastrophe.

Political rivals will try to use this fortunately for foot pulling material.

"So I decided to be prepared to fall either way"

The Duke pulled in his body, which was embarking on the executive desk, and let it snap his back.

"My brother's" hypothesis "stays on the ground, preparing the Knights to monitor your Lord, so that he can deal with any anomalies in the Lord right away - so be prepared."

"… so the convenience for this was the charge of misrill trafficking and brave killings"

"Though you have shamed me to trick me into purchasing more than I expected and to be scolded by Your Majesty. It's a cheap price."

Exactly as he said, it was a gift of self-preservation.

- The insane 'hypothesis' that my drunken brother bumped up about the 'Millennial Corridor of Nara' was partly wearing with my condition that somehow escaped the labyrinth.

If you report this hypothesis as it is, they may question your sanity, but if something happens without reporting it, it's a big problem.

So for self-preservation, I decided to make the Knights watch me for the right reasons, and consolidate my prep in case I didn't tell anyone about the hypothesis -

"(Terribly annoying story, but ironically you turned out to be right)"

Had it not been for the Silver Wings Knights to visit at that time, the end of the Demon King's War would have taken a completely different form than it is now.

In the worst case scenario, it could have allowed an attack on the ground by the Demon King's Army.

"Needless to say, I've already reported to Your Majesty about my brother's research and hypotheses. Once you have analyzed the vast amount of research material, you may also find out something about your Lord's 'right eye'"

"... let us hope"

"Mm-hmm. If your lord has anything to worry about, don't hesitate to tell me. It's my responsibility to analyze the materials."

The Duke of Kingswell rang the bell at hand and summoned the watchmen who were waiting in the hallway.

It seems that this is the end of the secret conversation.

"His Majesty plans to return to the King's Capital in three days. If possible, I want you to wait until that night. Do you mind?

"... of the White Wolf. What did you think about the Duke of Kingswell?

Garnett has cut out stories like that as he completes his errands and leaves the royal palace behind, down the gentle slopes of a luxury residential neighborhood.

"Right...... I'm under the impression that you didn't lie, but you didn't reveal everything either. I'm sure there's something only the Duke himself knows."

"I knew you'd think so"

"I've just heard a little bit about it, but it's been conveyed to me that you're a good person to stand around with information down."

Fifteen years of working as an adventurer.

I have dealt with various types of people in it, but what is particularly troubling was the "skillfully hiding people" rather than the "skillfully lying people".

If you're lying, if you're lying, if you poke at contradictions, you can chop them up and rebuff them, but not if you simply 'didn't tell'.

Sometimes I can make up as many reasons why I didn't say it was a convenience of time or a flow of stories, and if they asked me why I didn't ask when I was going to answer them, and vice versa.

"But thanks to the Duke of Kingswell's run to self-preservation, I was able to meet Garnett. That's all I want to thank you for."

"... what are you talking about, idiot"

Garnett stared at me in the light mix and kicked me cleverly in the leg as I walked.
