"Uh, next question, then. They say there are different races in Athlopolis, but where did they originally live?"

I hear the name Athlopolis means the town of refuge (Acyram City) in the earthly language.

If the diverse races that inhabit the town are made up of refugees and migrants from elsewhere, there must be somewhere else on the land where they originally lived.

"'Demon King's Castle Realm'... I never saw anything like a demonic settlement between going down the first tier and coming this far. No matter where there are many warcraft, it's strange that there's no one around the hill."

"Hmm. The path you've come... is that what you mean?"

Eversol looked up to the ceiling to evoke the knowledge in his head as he gently scratched the mandible of the lizard head covered in scales with his nails.

"Let's talk in order. This second hierarchy was a land inhabited by various demons more than in ancient times. There are two exceptions. First of all, a group of dwarves who changed their place of residence to a desolate first tier by saying that the watery landscape did not suit their skin."

It was clear without having to be explained again that that group was the ancestors of the Dwarves of the 'Demon King Castle Realm'.

"Regardless, not all Dwarves went up there, and some of them who did not agree said they stayed on the second tier and moved to Athlopolis. Dwarves in this town are their descendants."

"You didn't have any demons other than Dwarves on the first tier for that reason. Except for the demon army, which has invaded us."

Assuming Dwarf is a later emigrant, the first tier, the 'Demon King Castle Realm', from the very beginning, would have been a golem of abundant underground resources and ancient civilization.

For once, that could have been an area like a huge weapons factory, with golem manufacturing and material mining at its disposal.

A long time has passed since the role ceased to make sense, and demons who prefer dry environments have migrated without knowing about it - isn't that quite a conjecture?

"The path you have come through is where the Dwarves once lived. The house was removed and resettled, so it became a land of nothing, and then it was not developed again, and it continues to this day."

"I see, I'm convinced. Isn't it true that demonic settlements don't exist, they were the site where they once existed?"

The questions are beautifully resolved and I feel refreshed from the bottom of my mind.

Then I am also convinced that the settlement did not even see the demons until it reached Athlopolis.

Because the inhabitants who originally lived there encountered them in the "Demon King's Castle Realm" some time ago.

"Well, here's another exception... I can't leave this unexplained either. An exception is a special group of people who are told to live in a third tier."

"A special group...... what kind of race is it exactly?

"It's not a race. It is the 'King'."

Put it on Eversol's low, sounding voice and a word will reach your ear that you will never hear.

"The respective kings that rule each race in the second tier. They have used the third tier, isolated from this hierarchy, as a residence, and have regularly sent messengers to direct and levy taxes on governance."

"No way, Gandalf the Demon King is one of them"

"Ruri. Dark Elves themselves are a multitude of species that also inhabit the second tier. Is it plain to say that King Gandalf is his ruler?"

To parable on earth, like in the days a long time ago when countless royal marquis nobles had divided and ruled the continent, was it like a lord living in a large castle giving orders to the common people of a remote land and collecting taxes?

If Dustin had been here, besides Gandalf, I wonder how he would have reacted to the fact that there was a Demon King... or 'Demon King'.

"Originally, Athlopolis was a 'refuge' that embraced those who wished to flee the king's reign. Lady Fraxinus is supposed to be the one who can shoulder to shoulder with the king, and behind him is the sanctuary… it's all a story of a distant past"

"... what do you mean?

Eversol exhales heavily.

Just looking at the trick conveys that there is a serious problem lurking behind this story.

"At one point in time, interference from the kings was interrupted. And when I wondered if the depleted army of King Gandalf had appeared in this hierarchy, I conscripted large numbers of Dark Elves and headed towards the first hierarchy."

…………

"Since then, the King has given us no more orders, no more enforcing taxes. Some communities have succeeded in establishing autonomy, but many have lost their kings and declined, and large numbers of refugees have fled to Athlopolis… some (if any) are one of them"

They told me so spectacular and unexpected facts that I lost my word and looked at Garnett face to face.

"Demon King Gandalf claimed he broke into battle with the 'true enemy' lurking in the depths and fled to the first tier because of the loss of his home base. If only the king had sacrificed his true enemy..."

"We don't even know the details. Master Fraxinus or something like that... because in the first place the third hierarchy was not known by a certain (if any) descendant demon."

The situation deep in the dungeon is rougher than expected.

It's a huge gain in the sense of gathering information, but if you ask me what I should do with this in mind, I have to say, it's hard to make a quick decision on my side.

Instead of rushing to the depths with the momentum as it stands, we will also have to exchange views with the Adventurer Guild and other Knights and hence the Royal Palace.

"Hey, White Wolf's. Can I ask you one thing?

"Oh, oh... do you mind if Councillor Eversol"

"Whatever. Ask me what it is."

Garnett, with Eversol's consent, rarely threw questions in a marginal tone.

"From what I've heard, Dwarf's emigration seems to have preceded the interruption of communication from the King, but does that mean that Dwarf's king allowed him to emigrate?"

"... there's something a little strange going on. I don't know how, but the Dwarves lost interest in governance more than ever before, and the Dwarves were in a state of virtual lethargy."

That is why the Dwarves were able to emigrate at their own discretion, and those who opposed the emigration fled to Athlopolis without being able to rely on the king...

Convincing but complex and strange.

My mind and body are exhausted just to listen and understand.

Eversol has read our sense of fatigue and suggested a temporary interruption in a caring manner.

"It will only be tiring to be suddenly packed with this and knowledge. How about after a while? Besides, the human councillors will be back in Athlopolis soon. Maybe it would be easier to talk to my countrymen."

"Thank you. So...... no, wait a minute! Who says he'll be back now!?

"Hey, what councillor is going back!?

Me and Garnett all set out to expose their surprises.

Eversol looked round at both reptile eyes and alternated between us in such a way that he could not hide his confusion.

"People (...) Between (...) Reviews (...) Members (...) But... What's wrong with that...?
