- Then we were supposed to join Travis for lunch, as we thought.

Technically, if I were to suggest that we all have lunch, Travis agreed in two replies without checking who else was present.

And when I found out that Leila was with me, I showed her how overtly upset I was, but I still am without withdrawing the foreword.

"But, Luke. When the hell has it been since I've had dinner with you like this?

"It's not uncommon when you're at a banquet."

"Apart from making a lot of noise. I guess it's already on a yearly basis."

Enclose the dishes in a restaurant's private room and have a chat that's not enough to take.

The seats are Garnett and Layla, and about two adventurers on Travis' side.

The idea is to sit in opposite seats across the table from each other, with me and Travis sitting in the center, respectively.

"Speaking of which, apparently, there was a riot ahead of 'Demon King Castle Realm'. I heard that Roy and Dustin were involved."

"You can't answer the details if you ask me. Sooner or later, I think the Alliance will be coming down with information, so just give me a moment."

"What I can't say is proof of a serious achievement."

Travis folded the thinly sliced meat thick with a fork before cheeking it whole with a big mouth.

He chews it vigorously with his tough jaw and swallows it with a cold herbal tea for meat dishes, grinning invincibly.

"Something like the level at which royal palace permission is required to disclose information? This guy is looking forward to getting his information. This place has been dawning recently in the realm of Demon King's Castle."

"Are you just tired of your teething quest?

"No. I was just hoping to move on to the next step."

"You muscled bastard"

I inadvertently turn to a sarcastic laugh.

While there are a wide variety of reasons why adventurers are allowed to advance to the A-rank, Travis has achieved what the A-rank deserves, both in exploration and in the development of succession.

An appearance between those who became adventurers at the same time, but with one or more smooth rankings, one or the bottom of the 10,000 year E rank.

Travis tried to pick me up as a friend no matter how different, but I couldn't stand the inferiority anymore.

... Well, I miss that now too.

Were you stomped off by what you relied on in the uproar that accompanied the discovery of "Demon King's Castle Realm" a year ago?

Or did my success in areas other than adventurers dispel my sense of inferiority?

Anyway, now, I was able to deal with it in a less different way than I used to.

"You won't be able to talk about people either. I heard you took care of a bunch of youngsters at a time when you barely looked at each other. Roy in the basement, or a mechanic in your shop?"

"All of this is going to happen. I just happened to be involved, so I just hung out until I graduated from rushing out. I couldn't afford to like you."

Only me and Travis are having such an unrelenting conversation, and the rest hasn't really joined the story.

Garnett seemed to be biased in consciousness towards the eater, and Layla is careful not to miss a statement.

The two companions on that side were similar, and each seemed too focused on eating and hearing.

I can't help but think that I don't have the opportunity to talk to Leila, but Travis seemed to be consciously speaking to me all the time, so I might have no choice.

- That's how I finished lunch, and I got Garnett out of the private room first, and I stopped Travis and set up a place for the two of us to talk.

"So... what do you think of Leila, the net story?

"That's a straight ball. You know I don't like it."

"Oh, I also heard why you're not good at it. But there are two kinds of things you don't like, right? I don't want to be involved because I don't like 'I don't like' and 'I don't like' trying it but I can't... the former would have told Leila, but in your case it would have been the latter"

I couldn't successfully control the self enhancement skills I gained as a child, causing injuries when I tried to help a girl I was close to - this is why Travis doesn't like contact with young women.

I've known her for a long time, too, but I remember being told why I didn't like her recently, and Leila already figured this out.

"You, too, are pushing the back of a young man worried by female entanglement. I feel the same way."

"... mmm..."

"I knew you were aware. Totally... I've been in A-rank for a long time, so I guess I won't fail to control my skills now."

It casually leads to the walls of a private room, grinning bitterly at Travis, who is troubled by his true face.

Then slight signs and noises came across the wall.

Apparently, Leila, who was burned by Garnett, is trying to put her ear against the wall and listen to the conversation.

"If you don't feel like it, why don't you tell him? If it's hard for you to tell him directly, I'll take his place..."

"... I don't think I don't like it. But I really don't know how to deal with it. I guess it's because I've intentionally avoided it until I'm this age."

"Do you have plans to overcome it?

Travis conceived with his arms around him and returned the answer with a serious face.

"Whatever the conclusion, I can't keep running away with my bad consciousness as a shield... if I don't mind a little bit of it, I also want to learn how to deal with women"

"... is that enough so far"

"I'm counting on your help, too. You'd be better at talking about this."

"Don't say things that people don't listen to well. The only thing that worked so hard was when I was a young man with normal skills."

Is it high tide around here that you can hold the A-rank (Travis)?

Leila and Garnett looked strange as they left the private room to rendezvous with everyone.

... Wasn't Leila the only one who was eavesdropping?

While I am anxious to see if there has been a strange misunderstanding, it is time to go and serve my original purpose.

"Then we'll go check on the branch. Leila... right, why don't you give me a tour of the adventurer's usual work?

"Oh, what!? I'm sorry to bother you, no!

"I was just saying. Ask Travis if he's okay."

Say goodbye to hurried Layla and troubled Travis and take Garnett to the branch.

Along the way, Garnett raised her voice to tease me as she walked next to me, leaving only forwards so deliberately.

"A few - I knew Travis would hear a lot of interesting stories."

"... it was a long time ago. There hasn't been a floating story in the last few years."

"You haven't said anything yet, have you?

Garnett quickened her legs as she amused my reaction and whined with pleasure as she turned her back on this one.

"Totally... you were just a bunch of sightless women"
