Chapter 57: You have enough beauty that losing a few hours of beauty sleep wouldn’t affect you much.
Andrea’s mind was still recovering from the sudden morning kiss and the movements around the storage room.
People began to move aside the shelves they had set up for the infected and the unchosens.
Rhea and Naomi also shook themselves awake.
"Good morning..." Rhea whispered when her eyes met with Andrea and Fredrinn.
On the other hand, Naomi looked grumpy. She stretched her arms above her head, yawning endlessly.
Her petite body stretched alongside her movements, making her appear even sexier and irresistible.
"Why do we need to wake up so early, ugh." She murmured sleepily.
Fredrinn chuckled, pushing himself to his feet before offering his hand to Andrea who took it gratefully.
"Get yourselves sorted out, we will be moving out shortly." He said calmly.
Fredrinn, accompanied by Andrea, walked towards Jenny and the others.
Max had also pushed open the shelves and was now moving in the same direction alongside Christine, whose face was ashen and she had dark circles under her eyes.
Clearly, she didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.
All around her, she was surrounded by males and it wasn’t a good feeling to have when she felt that she couldn’t trust any of them except for Max.
Jacob rushed to greet Fredrinn, not forgetting his long lasting quest of fulfilling the list of requirements and stealing Fredrinn’s skill.
"Brother Fredrinn, hope you had a good night’s rest. Same for you, Andrea." he smiled and said politely.
"It was good." Andrea nodded happily, shooting Fredrinn a glance as if saying that it was all thanks to him.
Fredrinn placed his hand on her head naturally, ruffling her already messed up hair slightly as he looked at Jacob, "What are we doing right now then?"
Andrea blushed at the action out of embarrassment, but she still comfortably nuzzled her head in his hand.
"I was thinking that we should divide ourselves in two groups and one group can deal with gathering all the things we want to take along with us, while the other group will head out in search for a big vehicle that’s capable of carrying all of us." Jacob said, "What do you think?"
"Sounds good to me. But, how are we going to divide the groups when I cannot trust those infected and the traitors?" Fredrinn questioned.
And then, Jenny seeing the two of them talk, also wandered close to them to involve herself into the discussion.
Max, Aadav, and others also gathered around without being asked. After all, no one wanted to be left in the dark.
"I have thought about that issue myself, and the best idea I could come up with is that we keep those traitors locked in here while the infected could assist the other group outside. Like Charlie. His strength is too impressive to let it rot in here." Jacob sighed.
"So... You want to offer free protection to the bastards that caused such chaos and nearly cost us our lives?" Jenny intercepted the conversation.
Her face was cold without a single ounce of sympathy for the ungrateful men who threw them under the bus last night.
If it wasn’t for Fredrinn’s quick reaction to the issue, many more lives would’ve been lost.
How could she forget that?
She also had some dark circles under her eyes, signalling that she also didn’t manage to get a lot of sleep.
"I..." Jacob was silenced.
What Jenny said made sense, but he didn’t have a better plan either.
What if they took those traitors outside and they made more commotion, attracting stronger zombies and threatening their safety?
"That’s why I was in agreement with Fredrinn’s plan. Nipping the bud is the most sound suggestion." Max offered his own take on the topic.
"I surely agree that the suggestion is very sound and tempting," Toby said with a shake of his head, "However, as a doctor it just wouldn’t sit right with me to cause the deaths of so many people for my own personal gain."
Jenny huffed through her nose. She tilted her body, facing Toby directly with her eyes glaring daggers at him.
She mustered the fakest, widest smile possible as she said in a mockingly nice tone.
"Then respectfully Mr Toby, as a doctor why don’t you treat whatever illness they have in their heads?" She scoffed, "No normal person would think of stooping so low as to invite zombies inside a human establishment now, would they?"
Low murmurs began flying around after Jenny’s comeback to Toby’s righteous comment.
Jacob and Fredrinn shared a glance as Jacob sighed in exhaustion.
Their normal chat had now turned into a full blown debate all of a sudden.
Toby was left speechless and embarrassed at Jenny’s words, while others seem to support her as well.
There were a few who didn’t feel right about the idea, but they mostly opted to remain silent rather than attract the public ire like Toby.
The discussion went on for a few more minutes, the voices gradually getting louder.
The main topic for discussion was morality.
One side said that it’s not moral to do it while others argued that one must return what they receive.
Though, the moral side countered with the famous dialogue of ’An eye for an eye will make the world go blind.’
All in all, it kept escalating and escalating with no end in sight and nearly everyone except for the unchosen and the infected had already gathered all around Jacob and Fredrinn.
"Fredrinn, why are you so silent? Wasn’t it your idea to begin with? Support me over here!" Jenny, seeing Fredrinn not involved in the discussion, urged.
And after hearing him get referred, the crowd automatically started to lower their voices subconsciously.
"Well, you’re right, but weren’t you against that idea to begin with? What changed?" Fredrinn smiled looking at Jenny.
"I just... had a lot to think about last night. I didn’t get a good rest, as you can see for yourself." She pointed at her own face with a self deprecating smile, sighing.
Fredrinn chuckled, "Nah, you still look pretty. You have enough beauty that losing a few hours of beauty sleep wouldn’t affect you much."
