Chapter 54: You’re An Idiot
Fredrinn was looking at the dense mana that was flowing out of the stage 3 zombie’s corpse.
It felt much purer than atmospheric miniscule mana.
He wanted to run over there and absorb every last drop of it, use it all to heal his mana channels.
But... he was stuck in a dilemma.
Fredrinn glanced at the sleeping Andrea on his lap. Her face was glowing under the sharp LED lights overhead, and one of her hands was covering her eyes gently.
She looked so peacefully asleep that Fredrinn felt it would be a sin to disturb her rest.
However...
He once again looked at the leaking mana. If he didn’t absorb it soon, all of it would slowly merge back into the atmosphere and he would need to spend a longer time trying to absorb that amount.
He debated for a short while before sighing and deciding that absorbing the mana was more important.
If he couldn’t regain his strength fast enough, these girls wouldn’t be able to sleep so calmly every night.
So thinking in the long run, Fredrinn gently moved his hand under her head, trying to be as gentle and slow as possible.
He raised her head off his lap, before moving away and lowering it on the cardboard under her.
Andrea winced in her sleep.
Unconsciously, her body tilted to the side and she slipped off the cardboard she was laying on.
The moment she felt the coldness of tiles, her eyes shot wide open and she woke up with a pant.
Her chest was heaving, cold sweat forming on her forehead as her disheveled hair covered the sight of her face.
Fredrinn grimaced.
He was trying his hardest not to disturb her sleep, but ended up ruining it anyway.
"Wh... What happened?" Andrea rubbed her eyes with the back of her palm.
"Uhm... nothing. I wanted to use my skill and I wasn’t sure if it could harm or disturb you." Fredrinn replied in a stiff tone, "Sorry."
Andrea blinked several times before she finally refocused on his face.
He was capable of making a face like that?
Fredrinn’s always confident, easy-going smile was now turned upside down. He appeared like he had greatly messed up.
If she didn’t know the real reason for the expression, she would’ve never believed it.
How could a person like him feel so disappointed about a small issue like disturbing her sleep?
Andrea was always a light sleeper and she knew it, so after glancing around the room, she was surprised that she hadn’t woken up for such a long time!
The state of the storage area was completely different from what she remembered.
Was he really staying still so well to not disturb her sleep?
"You don’t need to be sorry about that..." Andrea murmured under her breath.
Her heartbeats began to gallop once again, but this time,,, she allowed them to.
Somehow, every time she looked at him, she saw a completely different side of him.
Suddenly, his earlier words rang back in her head.
’I want to experience real romance, and I know I hadn’t felt it before... because if I did, I would’ve remembered.’
It sounded ludicrous in her mind earlier, as what could his feelings do against the almighty power that wiped his memories after the awakening?
’Haah... the things I am feeling ain’t good for me right now.’ Andrea gulped down her saliva staring at his apologetic, handsome face.
And before she knew it, her body had moved.
She nearly jumped into his arms, wrapping hers around his shoulders as she hugged him tightly.
"You’re an idiot." She said softly.
Fredrinn blinked, not understanding why she was questioning his intelligence all of a sudden.
But considering her tone, it was clear that she didn’t mean it in a bad way at all.
So he just chuckled and hugged her back.
"Anyways." After a long hug, Andrea’s face was flushed beet red till the tip of her ears.
She separated from him and coughed, "I am going back to sleep now. And don’t feel bad about my sleep, I am a light sleeper. This is normal to me."
To lighten the mood she laughed and continued, "I can’t even count how many times I have beaten up Rhea for disturbing my sleep because she moved on the bed."
Seeing that she wasn’t disappointed about his mistake, Fredrinn’s mood brightened significantly.
"Does that mean you want to beat me for disturbing your sleep?" He teased with a feigned scared expression.
Andrea narrowed her eyes at him, before moving closer and grabbing his collar.
"Yeah."
Saying that, she pulled him down with all his strength but he barely moved an inch.
"Ah you wanted to pull me down, so sorry. Try it again, it will work this time." Fredrinn grinned seeing her frustrated look.
Andrea stared back at him with a pout.
"You’re so annoying."
And although she said that, she couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she released his collar and wrapped her arms around his neck.
She pulled herself up, pressing her lips on his with more ferocity than ever before.
One of her hands slid up his hair, holding them tight as she felt his hand going around her waist.
Her breath hitched involuntarily and despite the backdrop being filled with blood, gore and corpses of humans and zombies alike... Andrea couldn’t help but remember that everlasting twitch down between her legs.
Fredrinn wasn’t the one to back down either.
He may not be good at emotional situations related to romance, but he was at least slightly experienced in the arts of making love.
100 years was a very long time to keep his sexual desires curbed, after all.
He pulled one hand around her waist, pressing her closer against himself.
He could feel the heat rising between them, and Andrea deepened the kiss, getting lost in the moment as she began to rub her lower body against his unconsciously.
He was edging her for so long that she was really struggling to keep her desires hidden.
However... Unfortunately for them...
They were still in a room filled with other people.
Besides the two passionately making out lovebirds, Rhea flinched in her sleep.
"No... I didn’t kill you... It wasn’t my fault..."
