Chapter 1585 - 1447: Tingxue Pavilion and the Sky Demon Sect
Ye Guichen slowed down deliberately to take care of Sana and the others. The group spent nearly a whole day to finally reach Huangmen Town at the boundary of Illusion Forest, and it was already nearing evening.
"Mr. Ye, the mist in Illusion Forest becomes thicker at night. We should rest here for the night and set off tomorrow morning," Sana suggested.
Ye Guichen concentrated his mind and thought, crossing Illusion Forest wouldn’t take much time anyway. For safety’s sake, he wasn’t in a hurry and agreed to Sana’s suggestion.
Soon, the group found a tavern to settle down.
After a day’s journey, everyone was already famished. Though Ye Guichen, supported by spiritual power, didn’t need much food intake, Sana and the others, being Barbarians, had a terrifying appetite for food.
Ye Guichen led the group to randomly find a corner to sit and waved to the waiter.
"Hello, what do you need?" The waiter asked with a broad smile.
Ye Guichen took out ten Spirit Stones from his ring and placed them on the table, "Bring all your dishes here, double the quantity."
"Alright!" The waiter was dazzled by the Spirit Stones on the table, and even scrutinized Ye Guichen, seemingly surprised by Ye Guichen’s generosity, knowing that the tavern’s monthly revenue was only ten Spirit Stones.
He promptly collected the Spirit Stones and ran towards the back.
"Dad, I don’t want to stay in such a shabby tavern. Can we change to another?" A voice of whining came from afar.
"Xuan’er, stop being troublesome. This is already the best tavern in Huangmen Town. If you listened and stayed in the sect, you wouldn’t be out here needing to follow arrangements." A stern voice was heard speaking to the girl.
"Humph, stay then!" The girl snorted coldly and stormed into the tavern angrily.
"Waiter, bring your best dishes to me!" The girl stood at the entrance, hands on her hips, shouting at the innkeeper.
The patrons of the tavern turned towards the girl at the entrance after hearing her voice. She sported two pigtails hanging on her face, willow leaf eyebrows, and her eyes were round like a fawn, with an aura of pure elegance.
"What are you looking at, never seen a woman before!" The girl’s demeanor turned furious, loudly scolding as she noticed all eyes were on her.
The waiter seemed captivated by the girl, stood there dumbstruck, forgetting to greet her.
"Xuan’er, don’t be rude!" A reprimanding voice sounded from behind.
A vigorous young man strode in, each step bringing a gust of wind, his hair bundled, eyes sharp, accompanied by an elder with greying temples, holding a bronze sword.
Hearing the reprimand from behind, the girl sat down angrily without hesitation.
The moment the young man entered, Ye Guichen’s gaze was drawn towards them, not because of the young man’s aura, but because the elder beside him made Ye Guichen feel an innate danger.
Ye Guichen released his mind cautiously probing the elder’s cultivation and found that the elder had already reached Nascent Soul Stage level five, with a faint azure glow emerging from his Yellow Talisman Space.
The young man pulled out the chair in front of him, signaling the elder to sit first. Seeing the young man’s gesture, the elder hesitated, taking a step back meekly.
The young man sighed at the elder’s action, and without further courtesy, sat himself down while the elder stood beside him.
Subsequently, the young man sternly addressed the girl beside him, "You better tame your spoiled temper while we’re out. This trip is extremely dangerous, if not for you..."
The young man’s words abruptly paused, eyes reflecting deep sorrow.
At hearing the man’s words, tears welled up in Xuan’er’s eyes as she seemed to recall something.
"Oh my, didn’t expect our sister Xuan’er to shed tears, who provoked our dear Xuan’er sister?" A sickly sweet voice approached.
A charming man walked in from the entrance, wearing a semi-transparent embroidered robe, lips tinted red with rouge, and gracefully made his way inside, followed by two men in black clothes.
Upon hearing the honeyed voice, Xuan’er’s face displayed disgust, glaring at the man fiercely, "You dead demon piece, none of your business!"
The man was suddenly enraged upon hearing Xuan’er’s words, his most detested being referred to as a dead demon, ready to erupt before seeing the young man sitting aside, forcefully restraining his fury.
"Didn’t expect Uncle Yu Wen was here too, Wu Xiang pays respect to Uncle Yu Wen." Wu Xiang bowed slightly, looking at Yu Wen Dou with a sinister charm.
Yu Wen Dou witnessed Wu Xiang’s pretentious demeanor, coldly indifferent, ignoring him entirely.
Wu Xiang noted Yu Wen Dou’s attitude, teasingly said, "Father and daughter from Tingxue Pavilion venturing together, truly a joyous affair!"
"I wonder, Uncle Yu Wen, how you are considering the marriage between Xuan’er and me?" Wu Xiang smugly spoke.
"You dead demon piece, I’d rather die than marry you!" Upon hearing Wu Xiang’s words, Yu Wenxuan jumped up from the chair, pointing at Wu Xiang’s nose, scolding.
"Xuan’er, sit down!" Yu Wen Dou sternly instructed Yu Wenxuan.
Then, he turned to Wu Xiang, saying, "Go back and tell Wu Qiong, our Tingxue Pavilion hasn’t fallen to the degree of needing an alliance with evil outer sects."
