Chapter 609 - 327: The King’s Summons (Part 2)
Leonore turned around, his face showing a sudden realization.
"Lilith, within half an hour, have the Talin Association’s lead in the Soladin Kingdom." Raine spoke into the communication crystal.
This was a plan agreed upon earlier.
The time was set to half an hour to prevent other members of the Talin Association branch from having too much reaction time.
Within half an hour, even if the headquarters of the Talin Association could rely on some special means to detect or be aware that the Giant-eyed Tyrant ’Hillarack’ had died, when the message was relayed to the Soladin Kingdom branch, Lilith could also intercept it.
"Yes, my lord. That... Hillarack, has he already?" came Lilith’s respectful yet slightly suspicious voice from the other end of the communication crystal.
"He has been successfully slain. Proceed with the planned performance."
According to the plan, at that time he would play the ’Plague Bearer’ Whitemane, leading the Talin Association branch personnel to quickly retreat, but they would be discovered and surrounded by Leonore and others along the way.
"Yes, my lord!" Lilith couldn’t hide her excitement, her voice tinged with trembling.
....
Meanwhile.
In Rapids Castle, outside the royal palace, in the basement of a luxurious mansion separated by a block.
"Just now, was that energy fluctuation from a legendary level battle?" A man wearing a gray magic robe with a hood looked at a set of precision instruments on the table before him and exclaimed.
As the intelligence lead implanted by the Urein Empire in the Soladin Kingdom, the energy gauge before him was the empire’s latest product, with minimal chance of error.
Although he had nothing observed with the naked eye, the energy fluctuation could not deceive.
"I need to immediately contact someone to confirm the situation within the royal palace and report to the empire promptly."
...
And far away in Winterless City.
Someone else was informed of the changes occurring at Rapids Castle.
The salty sea wind blew past three distinct city architectural clusters, reaching the huge semicircular building located in the rear of the city.
"Hillarack’s life force has ended," said the high-cheekboned middle-aged man seated in the main position at the elongated round table.
He was draped in a purple-gold lined magic robe, sitting at the head, his manifest aura felt like an ocean – profound and impossible to discern its level.
At the elongated round table sat four people, excluding the high-cheekboned middle-aged man at the head.
But it was evident that this wasn’t all members, since surrounding the elongated round table, there were eight chairs left vacant, and the four people were seated unevenly.
This was the Talin Association’s Inner Ring Council.
Upon hearing the high-cheekboned middle-aged man’s words, the four people below glanced at each other, expressing surprise!
As Legendary Powerhouses and members of the Talin Association’s Inner Ring, they knew all too well the strength of the Giant-eyed Tyrant ’Hillarack.’
"Could it be that the ’Omen Sword’ of the Soladin Kingdom has surpassed in strength?" asked the middle-aged man in plate armor sitting second to the right of the high-cheekboned man.
The middle-aged man’s name was Gardella, with the title ’Lord Black Claw,’ a Legendary Powerhouse who was once the strongest in the southern duchy of Bellfast on the continent, before joining the Talin Association due to unforeseen events. He ranked fourth in the Inner Ring.
"No details yet." The high-cheekboned man shook his head.
"Marson, notify the Soladin branch to keep only a few staff undercover and have Whitemane direct the main personnel to the Vincent Duchy," the high-cheekboned man instructed the leather-armored man in the first position on his left.
"Also, immediately have someone investigate the specifics."
"Shall I make the trip?" proposed the man dressed in skull-decorated leather armor with a frown.
’Silent Blade’ Marson, third in the Talin Association’s Inner Ring ranking, known as the Mage Slayer, feared by most Legendary Mages.
"No, first take Vincent Duchy and the Eldron Kingdom. This will also serve as a deterrent to the Northern Lands Kingdom Alliance."
"One Soladin Kingdom can’t make much of a wave, first assess the situation."
"Understood!"
...
Meanwhile.
Bornberry, Marquis Gareth’s mansion.
Just minutes after Lilith had notified everyone to assemble, she received a message from Winterless City.
As Lord Raine had predicted, the headquarters had a special communication or monitoring channel, already aware of the Giant-eyed Tyrant ’Hillarack’s’ death.
A hint of prudence flashed across Lilith’s beautiful face.
A quarter of an hour later.
Meeting room.
With the Talin Association Soladin branch’s elite and leaders arriving one after another, dressed in dark leather armor and playing with a dark red dagger, Ussure couldn’t help but ask:
"Lilith, why have you summoned us to a meeting so urgently?"
"You’ll understand when the lord arrives," Lilith glanced at Ussure, responding calmly.
Ussure felt irritated at Lilith’s high-handed demeanor!
Damn it! Just latched onto a big fish, huh!
After another five minutes, Raine, posed as ’Whitemane,’ entered the venue.
"I’ve received orders from above, evacuate immediately."
"Leave now."
Raine dropped those two sentences, his gaze sweeping across the room.
"Hmm?"
Ussure and Grissur, clad in mithril-carved plate armor at his side, exchanged glances, their faces filled with confusion.
What’s the situation?
Plans were made to attack, why retreat suddenly now?
So much effort, manpower, and resources invested into the Soladin Kingdom, just as achievements were about to be realized, and yet a retreat?
Both were a bit unwilling.
"My lord, could you explain the reason?"
"Yes, just abandoning like this, the subordinates are somewhat unwilling."
