[Killed a Level 42 Goblin Warlock. EXP +5000.]

"Ding!"

"It has been detected that you killed a Rank 3 enemy for the first time."

"Rewards: 5000 EXP, 5 Skill Points, ..."

Notification after notification flashed in Aurelius’ field of vision.

Not only did they inform him about the death of the Goblin Warlock and the Experience he had gained as a result, but also about him completing another hidden achievement.

For the first time, Aurelius had killed a Rank 3 being.

And for that, he was being rewarded by the Player Panel.

This had happened twice before.

One when he killed the Elite Rabbit King, thus enabling the System Inventory function, and once in the Sunless Sect’s stronghold, when he had killed Priest Mayin.

Both of these encounters had let Aurelius know that the rewards he obtained would be massive.

Even so, he had no time to take a closer look at them.

The moment the Goblin Warlock perished, the azure figure behind his back hurriedly dispersed.

The Sea God’s Trident returned to his hand, making Aurelius’ knees go weak.

His mind was dizzy, his vision gradually darkening.

He didn’t even have a single ounce of strength remaining in his mind. Both physically and mentally.

The world around him spun continuously. He felt as though he would soon drop unconscious and collapse to the ground.

Fortunately, Aurelius had long expected such a situation–even if not as severe.

His eyes had long been locked onto the Healing, Stamina-Recovering, and Spirit-Recovering Potions.

Without any hesitation, he hurriedly removed their lids and poured all of their contents down his throat.

Their effect was immediate.

The pain in Aurelius’ mind and body lessened significantly, and he was now able to stand upright.

Still, his current condition was quite severe.

Aurelius couldn’t help but smile wryly inwardly.

He had never felt such weakness since he had become an Awakener. Even after fighting Priest Mayin, he was far from this seriously injured.

Who knew that he would end up in such a state not when he was still weak but just after obtaining an Epic Relic and a new skill that would make countless Awakeners green with envy.

’Life is truly strange,’ he shook his head, struggling to move to the side.

Approaching Selene, he tossed her his last remaining Potions before sitting on the ground a few feet away.

Selene had yet to recover from the shock of the previous scene.

She truly could not understand what the azure silhouette that had just emerged was.

More importantly, she could not comprehend just how Aurelius had managed to kill the Rank 3 monster alone.

This... didn’t make sense!

He shouldn’t have been able to do so!

It was only when a discordant voice rang in her mind that she snapped back to reality.

"Are you planning to admire me for a long time? Could it be that you’ve been enamored by my handsomeness?" Aurelius hit Selene with the exact same words that she had said only a few minutes earlier.

"You previously claimed that you would be able to recover instantly once the Goblin Warlock died."

"Come on. Do your magic..."

Aurelius waved his hand dismissively, as though saying "I’ve already done everything that needed to be done".

These words awakened Selene.

It was only now that she understood that truth.

Her plan had succeeded, albeit in a roundabout way.

The Goblin Warlock was dead!

She could now begin the final stage of her plan!

Watching the realization settle in Selene’s eyes, Aurelius’ eyes narrowed.

He was really curious.

He still didn’t know why Selene had gone to such lengths just to kill a mere goblin.

It couldn’t be that she had some great hatred against it, right?

There must be another reason.

Aurelius’ face was full of curiosity, watching the next scene with great anticipation.

Selene did not disappoint him.

During this time, she had recovered some of her strength.

Although still struggling, she was now able to move without his support.

She reached into her clothes.

From the hidden pockets inside, she retrieved several glass vials.

They were all filled with the same silver liquid.

When Aurelius saw it, his eyes widened.

He recognized it.

He had come into contact with this Potion many times before. More precisely, with its alternate version.

Moonlight Potion! The true, "NPC" version!

As soon as it appeared, Aurelius finally had a guess regarding Selene’s true purpose.

The female Assassin paid no heed to his thoughts.

Without any hesitation, she began pouring bottle after bottle of Moonlight Potion down her throat.

Her momentum surged as her throat constantly pulsed.

From Aurelius’ point of view, the interface above her head constantly flickered.

Her Level was upgrading with each Potion entering her mouth.

She soon regained her original strength. Then, she continued upgrading even further.

Level 18. Level 19. Level 20.

Aurelius watched in surprise as she reached the peak of Rank 1.

After Selene, it was now his turn to be astonished.

The original Moonlight Potion shared the same characteristic as its Player Version. Only one of them could be consumed per day.

Yet now, this ironlocked rule was broken right in front of him.

Selene had completed the journey that other Awakeners would spend months to do in a matter of minutes.

Moreover, she didn’t stop there.

Walking to the place where the Goblin Warlock had just perished, she fell to her knees.

Cupping her hands together, she began praying in a low voice.

"Oh Goddess of the Night, please heed your loyal servant’s call..."

"Please lower your gaze upon Nova Roma once again..."

The moment the final word fell, an invisible force that had remained in that spot seemed to have been simulated.

It was the dead aura of the Goblin Warlock.

Serving as fuel for Selene’s summons, it began communicating with a faraway being.

The next moment, Aurelius sensed an invisible ripple spread throughout the Goblin Mountains.

An unfathomable gaze descended upon this monster habitat and the plain they were standing on.
