Chapter 242: Demon Lord’s Pressure

Kharos watched the battlefield with a complicated expression. His daughter was truly giving him trouble and disrupting his allies’ plans.

"Sigh... that girl." In the next moment, Kharos suddenly expanded his aura.

BOOOOM!

The moment Kharos’s aura exploded outward, the spatial seal that Caelan had placed around the capital cracked and shattered.

When it came to spatial comprehension, Kharos and Caelan stood on the same level. Seeing his seal broken, Caelan immediately tried to close the space again, but Kharos actively stopped him.

"You demon bastard! Why are you doing this?! Do you really want an all-out war?! Do you think you can stop all of us Emperors without Demon Lord Raze?! Have you forgotten the deal we made in the past?!"

Caelan’s thunderous roar resounded across the sky, making every living being tremble. Even Nova’s soul — which had reached the level of Demon Lord Raze — shuddered under the pressure, because his actual strength was still far from matching it.

Kharos only laughed.

"Hahahahaha... Did I break any deal? I only came here to spar with you. I didn’t bring an army, did I? I simply came to take my daughter back."

Seeing that no more hybrids were pouring into the capital and that the ones already present were being handled by the human armies, Caelan gave up on resealing the space. Instead, he charged straight at Kharos.

"You motherfucker... you’re still denying it?!"

Their weapons collided. Caelan increased his strength slightly, and a cataclysmic pressure erupted with a deafening explosion.

Everyone still within range of the two absolute existences was blasted hundreds of kilometers away.

All the Emperor Realm warriors on both sides stopped fighting and focused on protecting themselves, unwilling to be caught in the aftermath.

People across the capital, the nearby cities, and even other parts of the Eastern Kingdom felt the terrifying shockwave. From afar, many saw the massive explosion and believed their end had come.

Guests and civilians who were being protected by the Royal Guards, Twilight Order members, and Holy Knights could only pray that they would survive this disaster.

At least the continuous flood of hybrids had stopped. Although the hybrids were not overwhelmingly powerful compared to the soldiers, their unique mixed-race abilities still made them dangerous.

Many King Realm experts quietly felt that something was wrong. If the hybrids were not that strong, why had the Eclipse Order brought them in the first place?

Nova was truly shocked by the power of these two monsters. For a moment, he wondered when he would ever reach that level.

{I don’t think it will take long... not with the speed you’re growing.}

Liya’s voice answered him. Nova knew she was right, yet he could still clearly feel that neither of them was fighting at full strength and they were already causing this much destruction.

Even the large formation covering the capital trembled under the residual force.

The moment the spatial seal was released, Zeon opened a massive spatial rift of his own. As someone who also possessed spatial power, he immediately ordered his soldiers to retreat.

Vaorak and the other human Emperors could not understand why the Eclipse Order was suddenly withdrawing. If their plan had been to destroy the capital of Vaunis, this made no sense.

"What are you planning, you bastard?!" Vaorak shouted as he launched another attack. Zeon dodged it with ease.

"Hahahahaha... You foolish beast. Have you still not realized it?" Zeon’s loud laughter made Vaorak’s expression darken.

Earlier, Nova had been attempting to convert his kills into Deadborns. However, turning Emperor Realm powerhouses into Deadborns was far more challenging.

It required deep concentration — something he could not afford while surrounded by so many enemies. At the same time, he still needed to raise the level of his class before he could reliably convert high-level targets.

While dealing with this limitation, Nova noticed his fleeing targets. Just as he was about to pursue them, a thunderous pressure suddenly descended upon him, Nyxara, Velena, and his two colossal Deadborns.

Kharos appeared directly in front of them.

"Boy... I don’t know how you’re releasing such a high-level demonic aura. I also cannot deny its purity — it even seems higher than my own."

"Now... enough is enough."

Nova gritted his teeth. How had this bastard suddenly appeared here? Wasn’t he supposed to be fighting the Human Emperor?

Looking past Kharos, Nova saw that Caelan was simply standing in the distance.

The Human Emperor saw no reason to continue fighting Kharos once the other side had begun retreating. Since both of them were evenly matched, neither could kill the other without going all out.

Nyxara felt her father’s overwhelming pressure and cursed inwardly. She was once again reminded of how far behind she still was... and how much stronger she needed to become before she could ever defeat him.

"Leave us, you old bastard!!" Nyxara shouted.

Kharos ignored her completely. He was long used to her attitude.

Aurora and Elaris had also stopped fighting. Elaris followed after Kharos, while Aurora chose not to chase her. Instead, she simply watched Nova, who was now trapped under the Demon Lord’s pressure.

She had no real reason to help him — and even if she wanted to, she could not do anything in front of the strongest Demon Lord. Even her own brother was weaker than Kharos.

So she remained still, observing a situation that made less and less sense the longer it continued.

Kharos then turned his expressionless gaze toward Velena.

"And you, Velena... after all this time of working hard for our family, you are now betraying us. Is this what you learned from your father?"

Velena’s heart trembled when she heard the Demon Lord’s words — especially when he mentioned her father.

What could she say? She only wanted her princess, her little girl, to be happy. Right now, she no longer cared about anything else.

"I... I am loyal only to Her Majesty... who is no longer in this world," Velena managed to say. She could not even lift her head under the crushing pressure.

"Oh, I see... so this is how things are."

Kharos muttered as he observed that the Eclipse Order Emperors had already retreated. Only about few Level 5 Emperors remained, along with two Level 8 and Level 9 Emperors, Zero, and Zeon.

Suddenly—

"Hahahahaha..."

Nova began laughing loudly.

The unexpected sound shocked everyone watching. Many believed he had gone mad from fear while standing before Demon Lord Kharos. The dark, almost evil nature of his laughter only deepened that impression.

Nyxara and Velena both turned toward him.

Nova lifted his head and met Kharos’s eyes directly.

"Cut the nonsense... you fucker."

Almost every eye on the battlefield widened.

They all thought he had gone completely insane. To curse one of the strongest existences in the world to his face — while standing under his pressure — was pure madness. Did this man not fear death?

Across the entire continent, people watching the broadcast felt their hearts skip a beat as they saw the look on Kharos’s face after hearing those words.

Albert and Ron watched the scene with open excitement. They waited for the Demon Lord to simply kill this anomaly.

They may not have liked Kharos, but they would gladly thank him if he eliminated the Slaughter Monarch.

Caelan also observed the situation without moving. He still felt that something was wrong. Why had the Eclipse Order suddenly stopped their attack and begun retreating?

Nova’s voice rang out again, cold and unyielding.

"You dare to put your pressure on my women? Even if Nyxara is your daughter and Velena is a maid of your family... they are mine now!!"

"And do you really think I can’t escape from your pressure?" Nova said, his words making Kharos frown. But the very next second—

Nova, Velena, Nyxara, and the two colossal Deadborns vanished right before everyone’s shocked eyes.
