Chapter 140: Nyxara’s Fury
{ She’s clearly lived for hundreds of years and has a vast amount of experience as a demon. You’re different — you only recently became a true demon. It will take time before your blood manipulation can reach that level. }
Nova nodded silently as he watched Nyxara launch her attack.
"DIE, YOU FUCKING LIZARD!"
The countless blood spears rained down like meteors, each one carrying enough force to destroy an entire kingdom.
The colossal demonic beast immediately sensed the terrifying power behind the attack. This time, it wouldn’t just be grazed — the pure demonic energy contained within the spears was strong enough to severely injure it.
Its massive body and eyes glowed a deep crimson. The beast prepared its own decisive defense. Its enormous scales shone with a denser, more fortified light, becoming even tougher and more resilient as it braced itself to take the full brunt of the assault.
It already understood that Nyxara’s blood spears were too numerous. Even if it tried to flee, escape would be impossible.
In the next instant, the countless spears bombarded its enormous body.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The successive impacts sent violent tremors racing across the Fourth Level of the Abyss, shaking the land for miles in every direction.
Nova quickly realized that even at his current distance, he wouldn’t be safe. He immediately activated judgement flash several times in succession, putting even more distance between himself and the battlefield.
Despite retreating, he never once looked away. His eyes remained locked on the battle as it grew more intense with every passing second.
Nova watched as the Abyssal Tyradrake continued to be bombarded by the rain of blood spears. Rage steadily filled its eyes. As a Sovereign Realm demonic beast, both its strength and intelligence were extremely high.
Being pressed this hard by an opponent of a lower level was a deep wound to its mighty pride.
Its fury grew with every passing second. The beast let out a high-pitched, earth-shaking roar filled with pure rage. How could a mere woman push it this far? The disgrace was unbearable.
Nyxara looked down at the beast being battered by her attacks with a cold, indifferent gaze. Yet she never once lowered her guard. She knew full well that the creature was both intelligent and extremely powerful.
Suddenly, another wave of Abyssal Breath surged toward her. She dodged it by a fraction of a second. When she looked back, the beast had already risen to the same height as her in the sky.
Large, deep wounds covered its body, and thick black blood continuously flowed from them.
Nyxara immediately shifted into a defensive stance, preparing her next move — when the beast suddenly spoke.
"GOOD, WOMAN... GOOD!"
"YOU ARE THE FIRST ONE TO PUSH ME THIS FAR IN HUNDREDS OF YEARS. CONSIDER YOURSELF WORTHY!"
"Hmph!" Nyxara replied with clear disdain, her beautiful crimson hair swaying in the wind. "I don’t need the likes of you to tell me whether I’m worthy or not. You’re going to die soon anyway."
"VERY WELL. THEN I WILL SIMPLY KILL YOU AND EAT YOUR FLESH WITH PLEASURE."
The beast’s glowing eyes locked onto her.
"BUT TELL ME, WOMAN... ARE YOU FROM THAT CURSED ZAROK BLOODLINE?"
The moment the name of the bloodline left its mouth, Nyxara’s already mesmerizing crimson eyes turned an even deeper, bloodier red. There was clearly a profound reason behind her strong reaction.
Without answering, she activated her spatial abilities and vanished from her position. In the next instant, she reappeared beside the beast and launched a fierce attack.
The Abyssal Tyradrake was caught off guard and tried to defend itself, but it was already too late.
Nyxara disappeared once more and reappeared directly in front of one of its massive eyes. Her black sword plunged straight into it.
ROAAAAARRRR!!!
The beast screamed in agony. It was by no means weak, but Nyxara’s spatial abilities were on an exceptionally high level. Fighting an opponent who could freely manipulate space put even a higher-realm existence at a severe disadvantage.
Nyxara had deliberately avoided using her full spatial abilities from the beginning. She had wanted to test whether she could kill the beast without relying on them. Unfortunately, she had been forced to use them after all.
"YOU DARE, WOMAN?!"
The Abyssal Tyradrake roared in pure rage and pain. It lashed out repeatedly with its massive claws and tail, and even unleashed multiple waves of Abyssal Breath.
But now that Nyxara was properly using her spatial abilities, not a single attack managed to touch her. The moment an attack was about to land, she simply vanished and reappeared elsewhere.
She continuously appeared around the beast’s colossal, mountain-like body, leaving deep, bleeding wounds with every strike. This one-sided process continued without pause.
From an extremely far distance, Nova watched the entire scene clearly thanks to Omnivision. He was still somewhat dazed. First the colossal beast had suddenly started speaking, then it had mentioned the woman’s bloodline — something that had clearly enraged her.
Now she was thoroughly beating its ass down. It was a unique and unexpected turn of events.
Nova was genuinely impressed by Nyxara’s power. He could clearly feel that she was still weaker than the beast in raw strength, even though both of them were Sovereigns.
He already had a vague idea of why she was dominating the fight, but Liya decided to explain it clearly.
{ She has Spatial abilities, as you’ve already realized. I’ve told you before — affinities like Space and Void are extremely rare. Most people prefer to avoid fighting those who possess them. }
{ From the way she’s fighting, Nyxara’s comprehension of Space has reached an extremely high level. That’s why she can use it so efficiently even in close combat. At this rate... it’s obvious the beast will die soon. }
Suddenly, Nova saw Nyxara ascend high into the sky. Now that she had severely wounded the beast’s legs, it would no longer be able to move at its full speed — not that she would have let it escape even if it still could.
With the Abyssal Tyradrake weakened, Nyxara decided to use a technique she had originally not wanted to rely on in this fight. But if she wanted to end it quickly, she had no other choice.
BOOM!
A powerful demonic pressure suddenly erupted from her body and crashed down onto the beast like an invisible mountain. The colossal creature was forcefully pinned to the ground. Nearby mountains were blasted apart by the sheer force of the pressure.
Nova could feel his own blood faintly boiling, yet the pressure itself didn’t truly affect him. He only felt a light tingling sensation.
"She’s using bloodline suppression..." he muttered.
In the next second, Nyxara activated Blood Manipulation once more. This time, instead of creating countless spears, she began forming a single colossal greatsword.
The aura and pressure radiating from the massive blood sword were unlike anything Nova had ever witnessed before.
It looked exactly like those overwhelming finishing moves from the cultivation animes he used to watch in his previous life. His mouth hung open in pure awe as he watched it form in real time.
Nova couldn’t help thinking that he might be able to do something similar if he enlarged Hai Rouve enough and controlled it with Voidborne Telekinesis.
He could also attempt it with his own blood manipulation... but he was still far less proficient than her.
"HAHAHAHA!"
The wounded demonic beast, pinned down like a giant rat, suddenly began laughing like a madman.
"SO THIS IS THE WAY I AM GOING TO DIE! AT LEAST I WILL BE KILLED BY THE HANDS OF A ROYAL BLOODLINE! DON’T YOU AGREE, LITTLE GIRL? YOUR FATHER WILL BE PROUD OF YOU!"
"SHUT UP!!"
Nyxara shouted in pure rage the moment the beast mentioned her father. She released the colossal blood sword.
It descended from the sky like a meteor intent on destroying the planet. The space around the massive blade buzzed violently and tore open with every meter it advanced.
Nyxara looked down at the pinned beast with bloodshot crimson eyes.
Her breathtaking, almost unbelievably beautiful face wore an ice-cold expression — one that could both charm anyone and send chills down their spine at the same time.
