His eyes widened in disbelief as he slowly turned around. Albert stood behind him. A sneer spread across his face as he coldly said,

"Die, you demon fucker."

Nova saw Albert standing behind him with a cruel smile on his face. The massive sword was still buried through his heart from behind.

Looking at Albert, Nova slowly muttered,

"Y-You... cough! W-Why...?"

His eyes were filled with betrayal. What Nova didn’t understand was that Albert and Ron had never believed his words about standing on humanity’s side.

To them...He was nothing more than a demon. A very dangerous one at that.

Ding!

[Critical Warning: Host’s life is in imminent danger.]

[Blood Loss has exceeded the survival threshold.]

[Fatal damage detected: Heart and multiple vital organs destroyed.]

[Instant Regeneration suppressed by residual Sacred Light energy.]

[Attempting Skill Fusion...]

[Skill Fusion failed.]

[Infinite Adaptation Core responding...]

Ding!

[Infinite Adaptation Core failed to adapt.]

Even Skill Fusion and the Infinite Adaptation Core had failed this time. The attack was simply too lethal, Nova’s vision gradually blurred.

He saw his Deadborns desperately struggling to stand after witnessing their Monarch in such a state.

Moonclaw struggled the most, continuously letting out furious roars. The other Deadborns also roared and howled as they desperately tried to reach him.

Nova slowly fell to his knees. He knew...It was over. Blood continued pouring from the massive wound in his chest.

Then suddenly—Albert pulled the sword out, leaving behind a huge hole through Nova’s body.

Slash!

He then kicked Nova away. Nova crashed onto the ground and struggled to turn back.

Albert looked down at him and sneered.

"Seems like your minions don’t like seeing you in this state." He paused before continuing.

"Seriously... if I had let you grow, you would’ve become an even bigger problem than the current Demon Lords."

Not far away, Enzo and Ragnar witnessed everything. An overwhelming sense of guilt filled their hearts.

The Slaughter Monarch had helped them immensely. If it hadn’t been for him, more than half of their army would have perished.

Yet...The one responsible for killing so many of their soldiers wasn’t Nova, It was Albert.

As for Nova...He was only a young man who had once helped defend Frostholme. After disappearing for three years, he had reappeared today without ever asking to be involved in this war.

He was clearly not on the demons’ side. Even if Albert still doubted him, Nova had fought for humanity until the very end.

That alone should have been enough. Yet Albert still chose to kill him in such a ruthless and disgraceful manner.

At that moment, the respect Enzo once held for his own General fell to rock bottom.

Ragnar simply felt disgusted.

As Nova understood his situation, he realized that he was really going to die.

It didn’t come as much of a surprise. The moment he chose to stay behind to save his wives, he had already accepted that this would most likely be his end.

[Host’s life will end in 60 seconds.]

Nova paid no attention to the system notification. Instead, his thoughts drifted back to the day he arrived in this world.

He remembered his loving mother... His father, who cared for him so deeply...

If his life were to end now, he would at least be grateful that he had the chance to experience those precious moments.

But there was one regret he couldn’t let go of, leaving them behind like this. And then there were his two beautiful wives. He had just told Rieka that he would return.

If they learned that he had died instead... They would be devastated. Nova didn’t even want to imagine how they would react. He could only hope they wouldn’t do anything reckless.

Little did Nova know...neither of his wives would be able to accept a world without him.

[40 seconds remaining until death.]

Nova silently recalled all of his Deadborns. Albert frowned as he watched them disappear one after another. Nova slowly raised his head and looked at Albert.

Despite the unbearable pain and the blood continuously flowing from his body...A sneer gradually appeared on his lips.

A weak laugh escaped Nova’s lips.

"Haha... cough! Hahaha..."

Albert frowned. "Hmm... what’s so funny, you brat?" he asked, a cold glint flashing across his eyes.

"N-Nothing... cough! I-I was just thinking... cough! For an Emperor... y-you sure use... cough! pretty underhanded methods," Nova mocked, barely able to speak.

[30 seconds remaining until death.]

Albert wasn’t angered by Nova’s words. Instead, he chuckled. "Hmph. You think I had to resort to such methods just for you? Don’t delude yourself, kid. I was simply teaching you a lesson."

He looked down at Nova with utter disdain. "This world will never accept demons... and even less, filthy hybrids like you." Nova’s expression instantly changed.

The mockery vanished. Only rage remained.

BOOM!!

An overwhelming killing intent erupted from his body. At the same time, the Demonic Dominion Aura that he had long since retracted exploded outward once again.

The sheer killing intent was so terrifying that even Albert instinctively felt the urge to retreat.

It was the killing intent Nova had accumulated after slaughtering hundreds of thousands of demonic beasts.

Suddenly—The container in Ron’s hand began to shake violently.

"What the—?!"

Ron was startled. The trembling only intensified. Cracks rapidly spread across the container, which had been forged from an incredibly durable material.

Azren and Voren instantly felt the familiar aura and they recognised it tears welled up in their eyes.

"M-My Lord..."

Nova’s Demonic Dominion Aura continued to surge. Looking directly at Albert, he spoke with absolute clarity. Somehow, an unknown source of power seemed to strengthen his voice.

"Demon, you say...?" If there’s an afterlife... or reincarnation..."

"I’ll show you what a true demon looks like. Not the half-assed demons you’re talking about."

[10 seconds remaining until death.]

Nova slowly smiled.

"And so...you’d better pray..."

"...that I die today."

Although Nova was only a Grandmaster, even an Emperor Realm powerhouse like Albert felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing those words.

Then—

BOOM!!

The Demon Lord’s heart shattered the container and shot toward Nova. A terrifying shockwave erupted, blasting everyone away.

Even Albert couldn’t withstand the overwhelming aura released by the heart and was sent flying backward.

The aura was so terrifying that Albert’s Domain was instantly canceled. Nova didn’t know what was happening, but he quickly did something he had wanted to do.

Seeing that the suppressing pressure had disappeared, he ordered two King Realm Deadborns to carry out his final task. Then Nova saw a large black object flying toward him.

It was about the size of a football, and as it drew closer and closer, Nova finally got a clear look at it.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

It was a black-colored heart, releasing an overwhelming demonic aura. The aura was so powerful that every warrior near Nova was blown away like flies.

The heart stopped above Nova’s head and hovered there, as if it were reacting to Nova’s Demonic Dominion Aura.

Nova stared at the heart with an unreadable expression. No one knew what he was thinking at that moment.

At that moment, Azren and Voren somehow managed to stand up. They were back on their feet. The daggers that had been stabbed into their abdomens were no longer there.

Albert and Ron saw this, and dread filled their hearts. What happened to the daggers they used on them? Who pulled them out? However, Azren and Voren paid no attention to Albert and Ron.

Their entire focus was on their lord’s heart, which had broken free from the container and was now hovering above Nova’s head.

The pressure and aura it was releasing were so overwhelming that they couldn’t even take a single step toward it.

All they could do was shout.

"NOOO, MY LORD!!"

"YOU BASTARD! WHAT DID YOU DO TO OUR LORD’S HEART?! GIVE IT BACK!!"

Both Demon Generals roared at Nova. But Nova wasn’t paying any attention to them.

His life was finally fading away.

[You will die in 5 seconds.]

Nova’s breathing stopped.

His heart stopped beating.

His consciousness faded into darkness.

[Host has died.]

As Nova died, the Demon Lord’s heart suddenly shot toward him. The moment it reached his body...It disappeared.

Both Nova and the Demon Lord’s heart vanished from the battlefield without leaving behind the slightest trace.

Nobody knew where they had gone. Azren and Voren could only watch helplessly.

Their eyes widened with despair as they screamed at the top of their lungs.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
