Chapter 137: Leaving system training space
Nova carefully read the skill description and understood that Void Steps was a movement skill — and a rather good one at that. As the description suggested, he wouldn’t be stepping into a complete Void.
Doing so would require an exceptional comprehension of Void affinity.
For a moment he felt confused. Were Space and Void the same thing, or were they different?
Liya answered before he could even ask.
{ Space and Void are different concepts. Space is often considered empty, but it isn’t truly empty — normal laws still function within it. Void, on the other hand, is absolute emptiness. Normal laws don’t work there at all, which is why Void affinity is extremely rare. }
{ As for your skill, it doesn’t directly require you to possess Void affinity to use it. If it did, the description would have mentioned it. At a basic level, Space and Void laws share certain similarities, though they become very different as your comprehension deepens. }
{ For now, you’ll be able to use Void Steps because you already have some comprehension of Space affinity. Once you obtain true Void affinity in the future, the skill will become far more powerful.
That said, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading it until you can use it with actual Void affinity. }
Nova nodded thoughtfully as he absorbed her explanation.
Nova listened carefully to her explanation and nodded.
"I understand. I’ll wait to upgrade this skill until I’ve already acquired Void affinity. For now, I’ll just use it as a normal short-range movement skill for close combat... especially when I’m not using Lightning Steps."
With that decided, Nova turned his attention to the second skill he had obtained.

[Soul Pulse]
[Rank: S+]
Discription:
[Releases a devastating pulse of soul energy that directly strikes the souls of all enemies within range. The violent spiritual shock bypasses physical defenses, inflicting severe soul damage and overwhelming mental pressure. Targets with weak souls may have their souls shattered, resulting in instant death, while those with stronger souls suffer heavy soul injuries, intense mental trauma, reduced concentration, and disrupted mana control. The skill’s power is determined by the difference between the user’s soul power and the target’s soul strength, allowing opponents with superior souls or exceptional mental resilience to resist or greatly lessen its effects.]

Nova stared at the description for a long moment. For a second he almost wondered if he was dreaming. With his current luck being so terrible, how had he managed to pull such a powerful skill?
{ Yeah... it’s a pure offensive soul skill, } Liya said. { That makes it extremely lethal. And congratulations — by absorbing Demon Lord Raze’s soul, your own soul strength has already reached a level far higher than your current physical power. This skill is a great addition to your arsenal. }
"You’re absolutely right," Nova replied, excitement clear in his voice. The skill was genuinely amazing.
He still didn’t fully understand the true significance of soul-related abilities, but he could already tell it would give him a real advantage when fighting opponents significantly stronger than himself.
Liya pulled her head back from his neck and looked directly into his eyes, a soft smile on her lips.
{ I don’t want to spoil your excitement, but I still have to warn you. } Her tone turned more serious.
{ This skill will give you a crazy advantage against higher-level opponents... but don’t even think for a second that they won’t be able to kill you. You only survived the previous battle because they didn’t truly want you dead. }
{ When you face an opponent of that level, even a single second of carelessness can create a fatal gap. You might not even get the chance to use Soul Pulse before they take your life. }
She leaned in a little closer, her voice dropping into that familiar teasing yet caring tone.
{ So, my darling son... don’t get overconfident. Mommy doesn’t want to see you get hurt again. }
Nova ignored the teasing part and simply nodded, gulping slightly. She was right. He was still far too weak to casually think about facing Emperor Realm experts.
Even so, this skill could still serve as a valuable lifeline when the time came.
Nova decided to ignore the remaining stat points for now. They were decent, but his physical strength already far surpassed that of a normal warrior at his level.
Adding more stats would only make him an even greater anomaly with each passing day — something he didn’t mind in the slightest.
He then called out the sword he had obtained. It appeared in his hand from the inventory, where it had been stored by default.

[Venomfang]
[Rank: Peak-King Realm]
[A sword forged from Venomsteel. Its blade is permanently coated in a deadly toxin. Every wound inflicted injects potent venom that spreads through the target’s body, corroding flesh, disrupting mana flow, and gradually weakening their combat abilities. The poison’s potency increases with the user’s mana.]

Nova examined the black-edged blade carefully, feeling the faint, dangerous aura of venom that clung to it.
"Wow... it’s a really cool, yet very dangerous sword," Nova muttered as he carefully moved the blade, making sure not to cut himself and get poisoned by it.
{ Hmm... it is a great sword, } Liya agreed. { It’s a good thing you already have poison resistance. Even if you somehow get poisoned by it, you won’t die easily. }
Nova immediately gave her plump ass a firm spank. Liya let out a soft moan and shot him an accusing look, as if asking why he had spanked her this time.
Nova sighed. "Why are you jinxing me? Do you really want me to get poisoned?"
{ Hmph! Why would I want that? I was just warning you, nothing else. }
Liya turned her head away, clearly a little mad that he had misunderstood her. Nova found himself enjoying these new, genuine emotions of hers. She was actually sulking.
He slowly stood up, still carrying her in one arm while holding the sword in the other. Even though she kept her face turned away, she continued clinging to him.
"Liya... look at me," Nova called softly.
She turned around. The moment she did, Nova leaned in and captured her rosy, pouting lips. He pushed his tongue into her mouth, catching her by surprise. After a brief moment of hesitation, she melted into the kiss and began responding.
They kissed deeply for a full twenty minutes while Nova held her with one arm. When they finally pulled apart, a thin string of saliva still connected their lips. Nova could have sworn he saw little red hearts in her eyes.
He smiled. "I was just teasing you. Don’t get mad."
Liya hugged him tightly.
{ I wasn’t mad... }
Nova gave her soft ass another gentle pat, then carefully set her down on the bed. With a slight reluctant expression she got down , Nova then took our his Rouve .
Nova let His Rouve consume Venomfang.
Once the absorption was complete, Rouve’s rank rose to Peak-King Realm and gained the ability to release potent poison.
Of course, Nova retained full control over it — if he wanted the poison to activate, it would; if not, it would remain dormant.
Beyond just coating swords and daggers, Rouve could now manifest the poison in various other forms as well.
With that finished, Nova decided to end the gacha session. He no longer wanted to spend more Evolution Points on keys. Even after using 20,000 keys with his currently terrible luck, he had still managed to obtain three useful skills. That was enough for now.
He would save the remaining points. Who knew what he might encounter in the Abyss? Extra Evolution Points could prove valuable in an emergency.
After asking Liya, he learned that anything capable of getting him out of the Abyss right away carried an extremely high price — far more than the Evolution Points he currently possessed.
For now, his best option was to travel through the Abyss and search for a possible way out. Thanks to his Chaotic Demon Transformation, he didn’t need to worry too much about being exposed.
The only thing left was to carefully craft a suitable identity. Nova decided it was time to leave the system space, but Liya stopped him.
{ Turn into a demon first before you go out. You don’t want to take any unnecessary risks. You no longer have Demon Lord Raze’s aura protecting you. }
Nova nodded. Without hesitation, he activated his Chaotic Demon Transformation.
