My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s

Episode 164 - Food 2 - Lintaro Nanase gaze

I think it was probably me who first noticed the anomaly, not Mr. Ziehl, not his boss or Kyosuke.

I learned later, but that seems to be something that a wind magician who has grown to a certain line can unconsciously feel, commonly known as' wind reading '.

It's called an intuition or an unpleasant hunch that you somehow know if there are factors nearby like your life or death.

"Isn't there something wrong with this forest?

And that's just when I was going to say it.

I was going to talk to Mr. Ziehl about the discomfort I had felt since I entered this forest.

Everyone else didn't seem to feel that discomfort, but they were too disturbed to judge it as a mistake or a fault of their own, so they were going to talk to Mr. Ziehl to make a decision for now.

Mr. Ziehl joined the same squad and was fortunate enough to try to cut out about it.

It seemed too late, though.

"Nanase, be on your guard. A little distance, but now we're surrounded."

Gille whispers to me, looking around in a very natural motion, like she's really looking for food.

I felt my body tense when I said I was surrounded by enemies.

I am, of course, a rear guard whose vocation is wind magician, and I have never bumped into him directly from the front, whether he is an enemy in man or a demon.

As a man, I never admired fighting on all lines, but what I was doing was at best as long as I was unleashing long-range magic behind Shi and Kyosuke.

And among the demons we've fought so far, there wasn't a strong enough enemy for the rear guard to pinch through the attack of the brave and the samurai.

That's why, unlike the avant-garde melee position, I wasn't used to taking something called intent to kill.

"Hih!?

If you're surprised at where the attack comes from, your body floats a few centimeters in the hand that touches your shoulder.

When I followed that hand, there was Mr. Ziehl, who looked so harsh that I rarely saw him.

You grabbed my shoulder. You get a grip on your hand.

"Calm down. If you don't want to die, think about surviving and be prepared to use anything to survive."

Mr. Ziehl comes out in front of me with a rugged face, pulls out his sword, and sets up.

That back was a lot wider than I thought.

"For you to survive, use me!

When I heard that word, I finally got my hands on it.

Not some distant salutation, like before, but a little messy, Mr. Ziehl's original words get to my chest.

I'm not as strong by myself as a crystal.

I'm not charismatic enough to pull everyone off like a boss.

I'm not as good at anything as Kyosuke.

It's not like I'm good at cooking, I can't at any point uplift the place, and no one can heal.

I have nothing special.

But I want to live too.

I don't want to die.

... Even I want to go home.

I just want to wake up in the morning angry with my parents, rush to school, do stupid things with my friends, study, eat dinner, and have such a normal life.

So to do that, to grab that life, I have to fight.

My hands, which had chilled off until earlier, warm up with heat because of the killing directed at me.

Perhaps what Crystal did on his first day in this world, I finally decided to be ready to fight through this world.

I thought so at my own will, not to be flushed by the opinions around me.

"Yes!! I will act to keep me from dying! So tell me what to do! How can I survive?

I look up all the time, grasp the wand to aid in the magic activation, and I look into Mr. Ziehl's eyes.

Mr. Ziehl suddenly opened his eyes to my complexion and smiled happily.

"I'm ready. Okay, it's quick..."

I nod quickly at the words Mr. Ziehl whispered in my ear.

It was something I had never tried before, but I know from my previous rules of thumb as a wind magician that strong emotions can sometimes be a force in activating magic.

It's not just me that's been flushed so far, but me now that I've got morale, I'll be able to do it for sure.

"So are you ready?

"Yes, I'm all set"

We're ready to intercept the enemy.

I think it's been quite a while since I got ready, but the enemy hasn't come yet.

Even if the killing I felt was frightening, wouldn't Mr. Ziehl's range of enemies be too wide?

No, does it take this much strength to be vice president of the Knights of a Nation?

In my prediction, I felt it was roughly twice as brave as my boss, and about five times as brave as Kyosuke in a close combat position.

Or does the profession of knight have a wide range of enemies?

When I questioned what I hadn't cared about since I was ready, I realized we didn't know anything about this world, and I laughed bitterly.

Approximately a minute later, about an hour later in my physical sense, it came.

The brown and green demons that cover our sights surround us and narrow our range step by step.

"Wood!?

"It's a demon called Trent, the tree demon, to be exact. Usually dressed as a tree, but active when the crisis is imminent or in the breeding season"

You seem to have met just in the breeding season this time.

Saying so to me, upset to see the whole enemy, Mr. Ziehl stared at the Trents in the trap he had set.

I'm surprised the demon has a breeding season like any other creature.

Apparently, demons are closer to living things than I thought.

The trap that Me and Mr. Ziehl made, even if it's a trap, is just a pitfall.

I just planted a hole big enough for an adult man to enter the ground with wind magic all over the place where me and Mr. Ziehl are now standing.

No trick to hide a hole, no trick to put a bug in a hole, etc., a pit, or just a hole.

If you were human, if you were a highly intelligent organism, it was just a hole, like avoiding or jumping over without coming straight ahead.

The Trents fit in so that it was sucked into countless holes on the ground.

Apparently, the demon named "Trent” is not that highly intelligent.

After all, prior knowledge is great.

At the castle of Laitis, I did not enter the library in the castle of Laitis as the king commanded me, but now it was regretted.

Perhaps some of the libraries had books about demons.

"As I said earlier, Trent's intelligence is not high, but it's not the least. Don't fail to be vigilant. I'll be on guard behind your back, but be careful."

I get in the mood again for Mr. Ziehl's words.

"You remember the auxiliary magic I taught you earlier?

I snort at Mr. Ziehl's last confirmation.

"Great. Now we're in action. As long as I've been watching your party, I see you around the most.... I asked for it."

I nodded again at Mr. Ziehl's encouragement, putting up my wand.

"Give this man the power to defeat dragons, the power to defeat mighty enemies. Until then, when my magic runs out, my power will be yours -" Wind Assisted Magic: Acceleration ""

Take a breather when you see Mr. Ziehl shining green for a moment and boost his magic powers again.

"Barriers that will not let this person through any attack. Until then, when my magic is inexhaustible, my power will be yours -" Wind Assisted Magic: Barriers "!

With two auxiliary magics on Mr. Ziehl, I finally lost my shoulder strength.

Mr. Ziehl makes sure it took two auxiliary magics without a problem, and he puts my head in.

"Well done. I'll take care of it later. Take your time."

I felt myself relaxed by the calming voice despite being surrounded by demons.

I hear Mr. Ziehl's words distant as to whether he was under stress for the exercise of repeated magic.

I lost consciousness as it was.
