My Stubborn Soul Card Follower

The pitch-black sea water swept across the entire arena.

The Duel Realm was suddenly filled with an unsettling black mist.

Under the Black Sea Calamity, all creatures are equal.

Once an Event Card is activated, it is no longer under the control of its holder; you can’t stop it just because you want to.

The good news is, just like the Dark Grand Rift, as the initiator of the Black Sea Calamity, Shen Sui is also affected by this Event Card.

The effect of all cards used for the first time is nullified and destroyed...

Theis looked at his hand and could only pay Soul Points to cover a Spell Card in the Magic Area and end this turn.

Thankfully, this Event Card only lasts for three turns, unlike Environment Cards which remain effective as long as they exist.

But the bad news is, the time when this Event Card becomes void is at the end of one’s turn.

That means Shen Sui will act one turn earlier than me.

Why is the first attack privilege important? Isn’t it just to seize the initiative?

And the end point of the Event Card undoubtedly creates an extra first attack turn for Shen Sui.

"My turn, begin." While Theis pondered on how to counter, Shen Sui had already begun his turn.

Just as Theis had thought, the Black Sea Calamity applied to Shen Sui as well. He could only pay Soul Points to cover two Spell Cards on the field and end his turn.

The fierce clash from moments ago suddenly entered a silent period.

But everyone knew, this was merely the calm before the storm.

Everyone was waiting for the moment when the Event Card would be lifted.

"However, if he doesn’t find a way to deal with Theis’s Environment Card after the Event Card is lifted..." analyzed You Wenqi, observing from the side.

"Then the duel will proceed in a direction that is familiar to Theis, which is very disadvantageous for Shen Sui."

As for why You Wenqi understood so well?

He just lost in this exact manner.

A victim’s insight was indeed very convincing.

Tan Song nodded in deep agreement: "That Environment Card, activated right at the start, indeed severely limits Shen Sui."

"Fortunately, Theis suffered a card jam in the first attack turn, or the disadvantage would be even greater now."

"However, once the Black Sea Calamity passes, Shen Sui should already be at the killing line, right? The Cursed Puppet has already stacked the Substitute Puppet into the graveyard."

Everyone who had witnessed Shen Sui’s duels, upon seeing the Substitute Puppet in the graveyard with no Followers on either side, could likely guess what Shen Sui planned to do.

While they were speaking, Theis had already started his turn.

Just like the previous turn, due to the presence of the Black Sea Calamity, Theis couldn’t do anything at all.

He directly skipped this turn.

He too had studied Shen Sui’s duels extensively, and naturally knew what it meant for the Substitute Puppet in the graveyard to have not yet activated its effects.

Are you really going to do this?

Shen Sui!

Theis looked at Shen Sui, who was about to start his turn.

"My turn! Draw!"

Shen Sui quickly drew a card from the deck.

Theis currently has only one cover card on the field and two cards in hand.

One of the cards was previously shown to Shen Sui, so it can be ascertained it’s not a hand trap.

The other card was just drawn by Theis.

His luck can’t be this good, can it?

Shen Sui thought this and directly uncovered the cover card: "In my main phase, uncovering the cover card, I activate the Spell Card ’Rattle the Grass and Startle the Snake’!"

"Choose a card on your field to destroy!"

"I won’t let you succeed!" Theis knew all too well that this was Shen Sui’s plan to clear the field for Qishala’s debut.

"At this moment, I uncover my cover card! Activate the Spell Card ’Ken’s Fury’!"

"Returning all cards in both graveyards to the deck!"

I knew it!

Shen Sui grinned.

Seeing Shen Sui’s smile, Theis’s heart sank in an instant, and he looked up towards the chain.

Just as expected, ’Ken’s Fury’ did not resolve normally.

"What is happening?!"

"When ’Rattle the Grass and Startle the Snake’ is activated, if a card chain effect is activated, it nullifies the chain effect and... discards all your hand cards!"

Shen Sui’s words caused Theis’s face to drastically change.

"I see, I see, so this is what ’Rattle the Grass and Startle the Snake’ truly is?"

Theis murmured to himself.

"Seems like, in this duel, I have the superior skill!"

Shen Sui grinned then opened the graveyard.

"I activate the effect of the Follower Card ’Substitute Puppet Jamie’ in the graveyard, banish it to activate, allowing me to choose a Multiform Follower from the deck to add to the hand."

Shen Sui searched the deck, then drew out a Follower Card.

"I choose to add Qishala to my hand!"

"Next, I activate the effect of ’Dragon Queen Qishala’, when there are no Dragon Race Followers on my field, I can special summon her to the field."

With the debut of Dragon Queen Qishala, her effect activated, special summoning two 10-star Dragon Race Derivatives to Shen Sui’s field.

Immediately, Shen Sui directly liberated the Dragon Race Derivatives and paid Soul Points, allowing the Queen of Dragons to transform.

"Bring me the miracle of the stars!"

"Form Transformation, Star Abyss White Dragon, Qishala!"

Amidst the radiant glow of the transformation, Qishala’s original form made a Shining Debut.

"This duel, I’ve won!" Shen Sui said to Theis.

His field and hand have no cards, completely unable to withstand Qishala’s full force attack.

Shen Sui glanced at Theis’s graveyard.

The other discarded hand card was indeed a hand trap.
