My Stubborn Soul Card Follower

Kang or not to Kang.

It’s a classic question for any duelist.

Because you never know if after Kanging this expansion card, the opponent will pull out something even more terrifying from their hand.

Alice was quite well prepared before the duel exam.

After learning that her examiner would be Xu Tianzhi, she watched several of Xu Tianzhi’s duels and obtained Xu Tianzhi’s latest summarized decklist from Xinyuan Tanchun.

Logically speaking, she should be quite familiar with Xu Tianzhi’s deck.

But it was precisely because of this familiarity that Alice hesitated a bit this turn.

The Intelligent Mechanical Tyrant deck has too many activation points!

Xu Tianzhi looked at the progress bar of the timing and knew Alice was still hesitating.

Though using professional competition tactics against a novice like Alice, who is just taking the duel exam, is somewhat lacking in chivalry.

But I must admit, such a method is indeed effective.

Sometimes, in competitions, he deliberately shows some rarely used cards to intentionally demonstrate his ability to expand in various ways.

This way, the more familiar his opponents are with his deck, the more conflicted they are about how to Kang.

If they were reckless and ignorant novices, this is a moment when they shouldn’t hesitate.

After all, Alice isn’t someone who likes to agonize over choices.

Without hesitating too long, she decisively Kanged Xu Tianzhi’s card effect.

Xu Tianzhi wasn’t discouraged, he activated Troy’s second effect, which in the event her effect is negated, allows Xu Tianzhi to recover Soul Points equal to her star level.

As the most classic expansion deck user, Xu Tianzhi has honed a whole set of expansion deck tactics over the years to deal with such situations.

Every one of his follower cards with activation points has undergone rigorous testing.

This time, Alice couldn’t Kang Troy’s effect because Shinno Keiko’s effect cannot be activated repeatedly in a single chain.

As desired, Xu Tianzhi recovered twelve Soul Points.

Then he decisively paid the Soul Points to activate a Spell Card from his hand.

This time, Alice didn’t hesitate.

As soon as she saw the name of the card Xu Tianzhi used, she unhesitatingly activated Shinno Keiko’s effect.

Used it for the fourth time.

Xu Tianzhi’s lips curled up.

Then, will you use the last chance or not?

Alice has already excluded ten followers from her graveyard.

Fortunately, Alice’s magical girl deck doesn’t mainly rely on graveyard effects, otherwise just excluding followers from the graveyard would be unbearable for her.

And the remaining five magical girls are basically all useful.

Although it seems like she has five Kang opportunities, Alice wouldn’t use the fifth one anyway.

This also means Alice has no means to hinder Xu Tianzhi’s subsequent expansion.

Thanks to Troy’s Soul Point recovery, Xu Tianzhi’s Soul Points are currently quite healthy.

He directly drew a Spell Card from his hand and activated its effect.

In the next moment, five mechanical followers filled Xu Tianzhi’s front field completely.

Again, it’s the familiar one-for-five expansion.

Although they are all 1-star mechanical follower derivatives, thanks to the mechanical followers’ splendid Transformer-like appearance display, the simultaneous appearance of these five followers is quite spectacular.

The watching students on the side instinctively rubbed their eyes.

Whoa!

Did I just miss something?

In fact, this is the result Alice is most able to accept.

If Troy and that Spell Card’s effects weren’t Kanged, then standing in front of Alice right now wouldn’t be five 1-star mechanical derivatives, but five 10-star 4000 Spirit Value behemoths.

Xu Tianzhi slightly sighed in relief.

He was actually quite worried Alice would exclude five followers from the graveyard to Kang this Spell Card.

Since she didn’t choose to negate the effect of this Spell Card, she basically won’t Kang the next ones either.

Xu Tianzhi calculated internally.

"Pay 10 Soul Points." He drew another Spell Card from his hand, then activated its effect, "From my hand, I activate the Spell Card [Tyrant Reincarnation: Waste Utilization]."

"Stack any number of mechanical followers on my field as material, special summon an [Intelligent Mechanical Tyrant] from my deck!"

Xu Tianzhi pointed to his deck.

With a thought, a Life Card flew out of his deck.

"I stack the five mechanical derivatives on the field! Special summon from my deck! [Intelligent Mechanical Tyrant: Grafa]!"

Accompanied by powerful metal grinding sounds, countless gears began to turn.

A tall, gear-covered monster appeared on Xu Tianzhi’s field.

"Based on the effect of [Tyrant Reincarnation: Waste Utilization], followers special summoned by it must remove one stacked material at the end of each turn. When it loses the last stacked material, it is immediately destroyed."

Xu Tianzhi explained the self-restraining effect of the Spell Card, his hand already lifted: "I activate Grafa’s effect, once per turn, I can special summon a [Intelligent] or [Mechanical] follower from the graveyard to the field."

"I choose to special summon from my graveyard, [Superpower Intelligent Mechanic: Guatemala No. 3]."

A small disc appeared on Xu Tianzhi’s field, accompanied by the sound of gears rolling.
