Chapter 1818 - 1904: Confession
The area below the university girls’ dormitory was always quite lively, for a very simple reason: many people chose this spot to confess their love during their college years. The scene seemed like someone was confessing right there downstairs.
As Su Xuan moved closer, he realized that it was two guys confessing to a girl; one of them was a foreigner. By the looks of it, both of them were very wealthy.
On the third-floor balcony of the dormitory, more than a dozen girls were gathered to watch the commotion, occasionally chiming in with comments.
"Johnny, stop babbling nonsense; there’s no way she would fall for a foreigner like you. She prefers Huaxia people,"
A young, wealthy heir stated bluntly, but the foreigner was clearly unconvinced and quickly retorted.
"You’re talking rubbish. I’m not giving up, and if my goddess of stocks is willing, I can even change my nationality for her, hahaha..."
The one called Johnny said seriously, and as he finished, Su Xuan was curiously wondering who this could be, someone so captivating that two wealthy heirs were fighting to confess.
At this moment, in a third-floor dormitory room, a fresh-faced young woman sat on her bunk, flipping through a Principles of Management book, portraying a picture of focusing solely on studying, seemingly with no concern for outside happenings like the love confessions taking place below.
"Ling’er, aren’t you going to check it out? Our school’s two top bachelors are down there trying to confess to you, and both are prime marriage prospects!"
Ling’er shook her head helplessly, looked up, and said.
"I’m not into that type!"
With that, she continued reading her book.
"Oh, I’m so envious! If a handsome guy like that, with so much money, confessed to me, I’d definitely agree, whether he married me later or not. Anyway, having a fling with these guys and getting some money for a couple of years doesn’t sound too bad. Ling’er, your sister’s always looked down on you. If you had a boyfriend like them, you’d surely hold your head high, and wouldn’t have to work so hard, traveling far just for work-study!"
One of the short-haired girls hurriedly said.
"You all should stop advising our Ling’er. I’m telling you, Ling’er already has someone she likes; she even called out that person’s name in her sleep before,"
"Are you talking about that man Big Brother Su? But I’ve never seen him here!"
Ling’er put her book down, her face blushing, and said.
"Please stop gossiping, okay? I’ll just say it—I do have someone I fancy. I don’t like childish people; I like those who fight for their wins with their own skills! Even if he has no money now, I don’t care. How long can you depend on your parents, anyway?"
Ling’er said seriously.
"Alright, our Ling’er has a very positive view on love; we should learn from her!"
The group chuckled mischievously.
"Ling’er, I love you! You’re that star up in the sky that cools my heart. I’ve been poisoned since I first saw you, and there’s no cure for this poison—only you can heal it..."
The Huaxia admirer confessed deeply, and when he finished, Su Xuan twitched a little, thinking, gosh, these young folks are so eloquent nowadays.
Hearing that the person being confessed to was Ling’er, could it be Cheng Ling? Su Xuan wondered if it was such a coincidence.
"Cheng Ling, I love you!"
The foreigner said in very unrefined Chinese, causing Su Xuan a sense of surprise—it really was Cheng Ling. Actually, when he saw Cheng Ling yesterday, Su Xuan absolutely believed that such a pretty girl couldn’t go without admirers in college. Though Cheng Ling wasn’t as stunning as Xue Mengxue, she was indeed beautiful.
Seeing these two immature people confessing to Cheng Ling, Su Xuan felt a sudden wave of discomfort, thinking to himself, could it really be that he was attracted to Ling’er?
Su Xuan smacked his lips, considering it probably wasn’t the case; it must be because of his relationship with her brother, sort of treating her like a sister. These two, upon closer inspection, are clearly unreliable wealthy heirs.
"Ling’er!"
Su Xuan suddenly shouted, causing Cheng Ling, who was reading in her room, to drop her book to the floor.
She recognized the voice immediately; it was the one person she longed for in her heart—Su Xuan.
After Su Xuan’s shout, others looked at him curiously, wondering, Who’s this? Just here for the drama?
"Whoa, mister, are you here to join in the fun? Perhaps you too have a crush on our school’s goddess.
Just as some prepared to enjoy the show, the next moment left everyone speechless because Ling’er dashed out of the dormitory, looking at Su Xuan with a very happy smile. She didn’t expect Su Xuan to come—the man she dreamed of, who stepped into her life two years ago.
"Why are you here?"
Looking at Su Xuan, she was incredibly happy.
"Your bag was left in my car, so I brought it back. Come down, it’s tough talking while I’m looking up like this; my neck hurts!"
Su Xuan said humorously.
"Wait, wait for me. I’ll change my clothes!"
At this moment, Cheng Ling hurried back into the dormitory, rummaging through her wardrobe, as one might say "a woman dresses for her admirer." Yesterday was unplanned, so there was no time; but now, such a great opportunity needed to be seized to doll up.
After searching for a while, she found a somewhat presentable outfit and put it on, checking herself in the mirror. Her dorm mates watched this scene, all secretly chatting, as everyone knew that Cheng Ling usually didn’t wear makeup.
Meanwhile, downstairs at the dormitory, things were already in chaos, especially amongst the two boys confessing, who looked at Su Xuan with disbelief.
"Who the hell are you? Do you know she’s my chosen woman?"
"Bullshit, she’s my chosen one!"
The foreigner quickly remarked; these two were indeed amusing, having already decided she belonged to them.
Su Xuan shook his head helplessly; do wealthy heirs all act like this these days? It seems the guy he met before behaved the same way.
Su Xuan wasn’t in the mood to deal with these people; he really thought these young guys were quite immature, lacking much interest in chatting with them.
"Hey, I’m asking you—cat got your tongue?"
The wealthy heir spoke arrogantly.
"Haha... Who do you think I am to her? And what does that have to do with you? You say she’s your chosen woman; aren’t you shameless? If she were your chosen woman, despite you calling out for so long, she didn’t come out—it only took one shout from me, and she came out, doesn’t it?"
