Chapter 1049: Her Turn to Lead
"I want to kiss every part of you," she murmured between kisses, voice thick with want. "Your chest... your stomach... your throat... everywhere before I reach the draconic cock. I’ve waited so long to touch you like this... to feel you like this."
Phei’s control began to feel less like an iron wall and more like a very expensive fence being tested by a determined princess.
He loved that too.
Loved the way she made him feel wanted and not just admired from afar as some unattainable Young Dragon. Wanted closely. Physically. Tenderly. Greedily. Loved the way her boldness kept catching up with her shyness, how she would kiss him with ferocious hunger, then blush when he looked at her too knowingly.
Loved the way she was discovering power over him and becoming drunk on it.
Delilah finally pulled back, breathing harder than before, her hands still resting on his bare skin.
Phei’s chest carried the evidence of her mouth.
Little trails of warmth, faint marks, soft claims scattered over him like she had written yes across his skin in a language only touch understood.
He looked at her; she looked up.
Then, because curiosity had apparently survived desire, her gaze drifted toward the hidden second floor again.
Phei laughed softly. "Still thinking about it?"
Delilah tried to look dignified but failed.
"What is up there?"
Phei said nothing and simply bent before he swept her into his arms again, and lifted her as if she weighed less than the evening breeze.
Delilah yelped, arms flying around his neck. "Phei!"
"You asked."
"I asked what was up there."
"And I am answering with transportation."
"You are impossible."
"You keep saying things that sound like praise."
She looked ready to argue, but then his bare chest was close enough that temptation defeated language. Her mouth returned to him instead; while he carried her toward the stairs, Delilah kissed the center of his chest again, then the side of his neck, her hands sliding over his shoulders and down his back, feeling every flex of muscle as he moved.
She paused there.
Her fingers curled around his bicep, feeling the power gathered under warm skin, the steady strength holding her without strain. Something about it made her breath soften. This body, this strength, terrifyingly beautiful man who had built her a fairytale, asked her properly to be his, and now carried her toward whatever secret waited above.
She kissed his arm slowly, then bit him lightly again, her voice coming out husky. "You make me want to touch every inch of you... every muscle, every line. This strength holding me like I’m precious... it makes me crazy for you, Phei. I don’t want to stop."
Phei laughed softly but the sound was so warm enough to make her heart flutter all over again, the cruel man.
He turned his face and kissed her once, brief and smiling, before continuing upward.
There were five small staircases leading to the second floor, each one curving gently through the inside of the dome. The steps were made of the same clear black-white Void-Ice, but here the lights were softer, more intimate. Tiny floating stars gathered along the railings, cognac-gold and amber, pulsing as they passed. Flowers hung from above in slow, trailing curtains, their crystal stems threaded with faint red-gold veins of Primordial Blood essence.
The air grew warmer with every step, scented faintly with flowers, frost, candlewax and something sweet enough to make the heart behave foolishly.
At the top, the second floor opened.
And there, in the center, waited the bed.
Only the bed and nothing else tried to compete with it.
It sat beneath the curved starry ceiling, wide and low, covered in layers of black silk, white velvet and soft sheets that shimmered faintly under the dome lights. The frame looked carved from translucent Void-Ice, its edges glowing with pale silver and warm amber. Around it, floating snowflakes drifted lazily, lighting whenever the stars above touched them. Thin curtains of frost-lace hung from invisible threads around the space, not enough to hide the bed, only enough to make it feel sacred, private, set apart from the rest of the world.
Above it, the ceiling had gathered the densest cluster of stars.
Black.
White.
Cognac-gold.
Amber.
All of them reflected in Delilah’s eyes.
Phei carried her to the bed and settled her down gently.
Too gently, considering the way she had just been biting him like a royal menace.
Delilah sat there for a moment, looking around, her heart beating too loudly in her chest.
Then she looked at him and a smile touched her lips, nervous and teasing and deeply aware.
"So," she said softly, "you planned to take my first time tonight, huh?"
Phei’s brows lifted. "Planned is a dangerously accusing word."
"You built a romantic dome, gave me dinner, asked me officially to be yours, gave me a bracelet, carried me upstairs, and placed me on a bed under stars that match my eyes."
"Yes, that sounds like enough evidence for your accusations."
"It sounds like a confession."
Phei stepped closer, looking unfairly pleased with himself. "Maybe I am simply a man who likes being prepared."
Delilah’s eyes narrowed. "Prepared?"
"For possibilities."
"Possibilities?"
"Beautiful, emotional, Ryujin Tiamat princess-shaped possibilities."
She tried not to smile and failed again.
"You are shameless."
"I built you a stairway to heavens love. My shame did not survive construction."
Delilah laughed, but the sound faded into something softer as he stood before her.
Phei’s gaze moved over her face but he did not try rushing to take her.
He had asked her earlier because he wanted her answer. Now, even here, with the bed beneath her and desire thick in the air, he was still watching her like her will mattered more than the heat between them.
That made her love him more but it also made her want him worse; she reached for his hand and pulled him closer.
Phei allowed it.
Delilah looked up at him, her earlier boldness returning, but this time with something clearer inside it.
"I want to take control," she said.
Phei’s eyes darkened slightly.
"Do you now?"
She nodded. Her fingers tightened around his. "Tonight, I do not want to only be led last time you did, I missed you taking my first time."
He leaned down, close enough that his breath touched her lips. "Then what do you want, princess?"
Delilah smiled — soft, ferocious, beautiful — and pulled him down onto the bed with her. As he settled over her, she slid her hands up his bare chest again, fingers tracing every line of muscle with slow, sensual intent.
Her body arched slightly beneath him, the thin fabric of her dress doing nothing to hide how soft and warm she was against the hard planes of his torso.
"I want you to let me show you how much I have waited," she whispered, voice husky and hungry. "I want to touch you... kiss you... everywhere. I want to make you feel how crazy you make me... how much I love you."
Phei held her gaze for a long moment.
Then he smiled.
"As my woman desires," he said.
Delilah pulled him down by the hand and rose to meet him halfway, her mouth finding his in a deep, claiming kiss while her hands continued their exploration of his upper body — sliding over his chest, down his abdomen, and around to his back, pulling him closer as she poured every ounce of her waiting hunger into the moment.
Her legs shifted, one hooking lightly around his, drawing him down until her breasts pressed soft and warm against his bare skin, until there was nothing between them but heat, silk, and the truth she was finally ready to give.
And beneath the starry ceiling he had made for her eyes, the ferocious princess took the lead.
