Chapter 723 - 419: No Regret in Killing My Son! (Part 2)

The one who single-handedly brought the thriving Empire to ruin, the culprit behind the death of the Old Demon Emperor.

Even the Old Demon Emperor dared not believe that he had no guard against his son. Thus, his youngest son pierced his abdomen with a dagger forged with the claws of the Shabu Insect Race, and the venom completely corroded him.

This was the main cause of his death. He never imagined his own child would be the one most intent on killing him...

And now, this undead Loren revealed much to them.

The undead transformed Prince, the youngest son of the Old Demon Emperor, Carl, resurrected almost everyone who had died during the Empire’s chaos and organized a brand new Empire made up of the undead.

He even inherited the previous Empire’s era name.

He became the second Emperor of the Empire!

What’s more, this undead Emperor bore thoughts completely different from other undead. He wished to create an eternally peaceful Empire, a world ruled by the undead, forever!

This is why the Undead Army invaded other warlords, not simply following the instincts of the dead.

The Old Demon Emperor and Xue Dili listened silently, for a long while, before Xue Dili finally said, "Your youngest son, dead and still dreaming of being an Emperor, huh..."

Xue Dili knew that abstract youngest son of the Old Demon Emperor, when the old Demon Emperor pacified the Shabu Insect Race and those mutated monsters, young Carl challenged him at the Xuanwu Gate.

Killed all his siblings, leaving none behind!

Even his elder sister who was already married, and his much younger sister, he spared none, ruthless beyond imagination.

He thought that as long as the Old Demon Emperor had only him as heir, then the Empire’s throne would belong to him!

Then upon discovering that Old Deng had methods besides choosing him as Emperor, he decided to kill him and start anew, hence he devised novel plans. Once the old fool passed, he just could directly be Emperor!

So, amid ingenious operations, aided by noblemen from other races, he obtained a dagger made from the Insect Race’s fang, coated in Insect Race blood, hidden through special means.

At the Old Demon Emperor’s most tired, most relaxed moments, he assailed his father.

Once Old Deng perishes, the whole Empire would be his!

Nonetheless, to his shock, even so, he couldn’t achieve a one-hit kill. The Old Demon Emperor, even pierced and poisoned lethally, managed to slay him and all traitors, even found accomplices among them, wiping out every other race noble in the Royal Capital...

This rendered his ingenious plans futile...

And the Empire began to crumble, becoming history, like the Old Demon Emperor said, ushering in the era of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, a time of warlords fighting, a time of people eating each other...

After losing the Empire, people deeply missed that strong and stable Empire.

Just like those in the Northern and Southern Dynasties who missed and praised the great Han, those of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms who missed and extolled the great Tang...

Just too classic...

Xue Dili could even see the nostalgia on Ku Liu’s face.

He said, "So your youngest son felt that being a human emperor was impossible, started thinking humans have limits, discovered that the more ingenious the ideas, the more unexpected outcomes arose, hence he ended his humanity, right?"

Xue Dili found it hard even to ridicule.

Neither the Old Demon Emperor nor the skeleton spoke, yet the skeleton was first to ask, "Who is this?"

"My friend from another world, he’s stronger than I am." The Old Demon Emperor simply said, instantly causing the undead’s Soul Fire to waver, suddenly saying respectfully, "Greetings, Emperor of the Otherworld."

Xue Dili: "..."

He’s no emperor, just a foolish university student...

Forget it, too lazy to explain. To the people of this world, they think only the strongest can lead, such thoughts are natural.

Xue Dili didn’t intend to forcibly change the otherworldly thinking, just like even if he disliked bowing, many in the other world favor the practice, and if you stop them, their reaction is fiercer.

In such circumstances, Xue Dili could only play the charlatan, pretending to be divine worked better than anything else in places with lower civilization.

Even if his first words pretending to be divine were "God says, no bowing."

At this moment, the Old Demon Emperor unexpectedly explained, "He’s not the Emperor of the Otherworld, just a student."

Instantly, this undead Loren’s ghost fire contorted further. He fearfully said, "Someone stronger than you, Big Brother, is surprisingly a student! Must be the Divine Realm, right?"

Xue Dili: "..."

Old Demon Emperor: "..."

Forget it, explaining only complicates things, better to keep playing the deity...

Both were left with that thought.

Soon, led by undead Loren, an enormous building complex appeared in their view.

The Great Tomb towered over the desolate plains, like a pitch-black giant sword with no vegetation growing around, even the moonlight turned thin here, as if light shunned the undead’s domain.

The entire tomb resembled a breathing living coffin, pulsating eerily.

Saturated with undead-exclusive aesthetics and warped layouts.

"We’ve arrived, this is the Great Tomb, the Royal Capital of Carl’s Empire... Big Brother, I may soon..." The undead’s words halted midway, his Soul Fire vanished as if obliterated in an instant.

Then, a sinister voice echoed: "Father, you finally come!"

A voice mingling joy, pleasure, and twisted meaning emanated from the skull now devoid of Soul Fire.

Old Demon Emperor’s expression soured, he said: "What do you want?"

"Father, come to my Imperial Palace, I’ll tell you everything when my guards let you in." He laughed, unleashing the undead’s ghastly shriek, "As for the traitor, the last trace of his Soul Fire will be utterly exterminated by me! Gahahaha!"

The voice hovered over the Blood Dragon, though separated by hundreds of miles from the Great Tomb, the undead Loren who once accompanied them was now completely dead.

The skull swiftly showed signs of weathering, seemingly turning to dust at a pinch.

No low-level undead can resist a high-level undead, this is the iron rule of the undead.

"Loren was my brother, the first to support my world unification, fought with me for decades, managed supplies and logistics..." the Old Demon Emperor spoke.

"Oh..."

"In life, he never knew comfort, after the Empire was founded for less than two years, he died due to overdrawn Life Force, with too many hidden wounds. I needed to cull remnants of other races then, and missed his last moments." The Old Demon Emperor continued.

The old man rambled, like reminiscing, talking with himself.

They landed at the entrance of the Great Tomb, yet the sight tightened the Old Demon Emperor’s pupils.

"Father...Father..." two undead resembling ghastly fiends looked at the Old Demon Emperor, but both bowed their heads, whether out of shame or pain was unknown.

From the rigid bodies, Xue Dili tossed them out, evidently the Old Demon Emperor’s other two sons.

The Old Demon Emperor didn’t speak, merely walked in calmly.

He didn’t even turn back, that silhouette seemed to say.

"Son, Dad’s coming to kill you!"
