Chapter 756 - 434: True·Portable Old Deng—Mimic Venerable King_2
They were originally equal in status, merely differing in quantity.
"Immortal, huh? Then return to your place." The First Apostle retracted his pressure and allowed Xue Dili to return to his rightful position.
The same questions were posed to both No. 7 and No. 11, and Xue Dili thus learned about the sources of their powers.
No. 11’s authority is "Strength," or one might directly call it Powa, the purest form of combat authority.
No. 7’s authority is weak; its sequence is higher than No. 8’s, but its power is weaker, named "Fear."
Xue Dili couldn’t find a corresponding Evil God in Subspace for these two authorities, perhaps because they were not as powerful as imagined, so their corresponding Evil Gods in Subspace were not encountered, or they were encountered but ignored.
Thus, it seemed that once all the Apostles were present, the Lord of Mist directly said, "This meeting will now proceed freely. After it ends, the first six Apostles should remain."
Just like last time.
Perhaps due to the demise of several Apostles, the others no longer felt free to speak as openly as before.
As a result, Xue Dili even stopped huddling with No. 10 for warmth and instead questioned the Mimic Venerable King fused with his soul.
"How is it? Have you pinpointed the coordinates? I feel a lot of pressure; those missing Apostles were all killed by me, and now I feel like everyone is suspecting me."
"Don’t worry, it’s almost there... very soon... I’ll find the location here..." The words the Mimic Venerable King sent back carried no credibility whatsoever, and now he seemed to be sweating profusely.
"No, there’s no way I can trust that tone..." Xue Dili retorted.
"I’ve already identified the corresponding Subspace region, but it’s deep within Subspace, with no landmarks or light. Even I won’t get lost here, but finding the Mist Council is as difficult as locating a trident in the deep sea without a view."
"Give me a little more time..."
The Mimic Venerable King truly seemed drenched in sweat and was quite frustrated. Who exactly is this Lord of Mist? Why do all of his techniques seem deliberately aimed at me?
And how has he mastered such an array of bizarre techniques?
Even as he scanned the present Apostles, although he couldn’t expose himself until he found the coordinates, he discovered that these Apostles were as abundant as immortals, and if he didn’t know this was the Mist Council, the Mimic Venerable King would have believed he had returned to Subspace’s end, where the Subspace Evil Gods dwelled.
"Apostles, why do they seem like embodiments of Subspace Evil Gods..." the Mimic Venerable King said.
"Perhaps, the answer is on the surface; Apostles, Apostles... they themselves, are nothing but a group of ’Disciples’!"
Xue Dili even began to speak nonsensically.
Though he didn’t know how this pun would translate linguistically, Xue Dili indeed guessed that each Apostle corresponded to a Subspace Evil God.
The First Apostle corresponds to that entwined tree root.
The Fourth Apostle corresponds to that ever-changing jellyfish.
The Sixth Apostle corresponds to those splitting swarms.
The Eighth Apostle corresponds to the immortal monster.
The Ninth Apostle should correspond to that ever-devouring giant mouth.
This was the intel he had for now; he didn’t know what authorities the other leading Apostles held, so he couldn’t match them. As for No. 7, 10, and 11, he couldn’t temporarily find their counterparts either.
But, who at the Subspace end corresponds with the Venerable King?
Is it me?
Even by following this method of matching, Xue Dili sensed a familiar and formidable force, categorized as the "Ritual" Technique.
Through reflecting and corresponding, achieving a specific result is the principle of rituals.
Like destroying any dual structures on September 11, one could easily assassinate a former president by gathering a convertible, a president, and an assassin; gathering a former prime minister, a speech, and a homemade double-barrel gun to shoot it; Zeus only needs to gather a seven-day oath to become Earth Consciousness...
If a similar corresponding environment was created, achieving the desired identical result, this would be a "Ritual."
So, is the Lord of Mist conducting some grand ritual?
In this ritual, even the thirteen Apostles were mere sacrifices.
Many thoughts sprang into Xue Dili’s mind, but all would require the Mimic Venerable King to locate the position here so he could turn hostile and find a way to wipe out all the present Apostles.
However, after more than an hour had passed, the Lord of Mist directly stated, "The Subspace energy has dissipated, this meeting is adjourned."
Xue Dili: "???"
Mimic Venerable King, I’m waiting at the Mist Council, where are you?
Mimic Venerable King: "I don’t know!"
He was still breaking the Lord of Mist’s concealment, striving in Subspace’s deep sea to scoop up that trident.
But even now, the meeting had ended, and he was still fishing...
Xue Dili woke up in the Interstellar Corps’ private room, then looked expressionlessly at the Mimic Venerable King.
"I truly tried searching, but believe me, the Lord of Mist has issues; he seems to know me extremely well, and is extremely familiar with Subspace, knowing the location that’s hardest for me to find. This is very suspicious!"
Xue Dili immediately fell silent and slowly said, "Is it possible that the Lord of Mist conducted an undercover investigation within the Interstellar Corps and planted a mole with a particularly high rank who’s aware of your information?"
"Impossible, absolutely impossible, even the captains don’t know my information. I’m the leader of the Interstellar Corps!" The Mimic Venerable King directly responded.
Xue Dili almost blurted out, "You’ll regret it," but held back.
"Except for the previous Interstellar Corps members who created me, but they’re all retired in my Pure Land and it’s impossible for them to be the Apostle’s moles, because I can know absolutely everything within myself." The Mimic Venerable King continued.
"You wouldn’t understand even if I explained; there are immense issues here. But the good news is that I’ve located the place, so next time there’s a meeting, I can directly launch an assault with my main body." The Mimic Venerable King finally offered good news.
"Don’t crash the car." Xue Dili reminded.
"Relax, I’m the strongest," the Mimic Venerable King said directly, "even if it’s the Void’s main body, I can escape, as long as it’s in the real Cosmos. Combined, the Apostles aren’t enough to defeat me."
Xue Dili: "..."
He suddenly felt the Mimic Venerable King resembled an old war general on stage, with flags planted all over his back.
In the end, he could only offer a few reminders, leaving Xue Dili to no longer worry about this matter.
"By the way, the fragment integrated into your soul will temporarily remain with you. In any situation, you can draw power from it, and I’ll protect you within it, at least keeping you safe until you’ve fully digested Hassan’s legacy and are ready to succeed the Masked Ball." The Mimic Venerable King’s voice sounded.
Xue Dili was momentarily startled as the Mimic Venerable King directly fused part of himself into him like a portable old grandfather...
Though he found the Mimic Venerable King’s actions earlier irksome, if he indeed stayed by his side as his portable Old Deng, Xue Dili would immediately dare to challenge the First Apostle in the Imperial City.
Even just a small fragment of the Mimic Venerable King was a formidable force within the Apostle Level.
However...
"Why?" Xue Dili questioned.
The Mimic Venerable King had no reason to look after him like this; previously, he could use the excuse of caring for the Great Sage’s disciples, thus the given permissions were reasonable.
But this time’s fragment genuinely baffled Xue Dili.
"Hassan entrusted me; he helped explore Subspace while I take care of the Masked Ball, particularly you. Until you can stand independently, I’ll give you maximum support without affecting my main body."
