Chapter 2558 Powerful Psychological Tactic (8)
Tang Chuan’s question suddenly reminded Su Yu of Zhang Manlin.
Yu, are you listening to me?”
“I am, go on.”
“Oh, I just wanted to see if you knew anything, but I guess you didn’t know about this.”
“No, I didn’t know that Mian went back to her mother’s.”
“Didn’t Pudding and Little Bean tell you?”
“No, they’re smart children, they know telling me about their parents’ argument is problematic. After all…”
“After all, the whole world knows that you’re in love with Qin Chu’s wife,” Tang Chuan finished Su Yu’s thought.
“Right,” Su Yu admitted; he had never denied his feelings for Huo Mian. He was the kind of person who loved someone out in the open, and no one could stop him if he wanted to take care of another person.
“Forget it then, Ning and I will talk about the next steps. You know how much she cares about Huo Mian and Qin Chu.” “How are you guys doing?” Su Yu suddenly asked.
“How else can we be doing? My father-in-law is so traditional and just as stubborn as his daughter. Just thinking about the situation gives me a headache.”
“When are you coming back?”
“Why? You’re lonely and you miss me?” Tang Chuan laughed evilly “As if, I want you to live in the States for the rest of your life.”
“That’s not going to happen. I’m so bored here, once my father-in-law calms down, we’re going to come back. If I live here any longer, I’m going to turn into a hamburger,” Tang Chuan complained.
“Okay, if there’s nothing else I’m going back to sleep. I’ll talk to Huo Mian soon.”
“Okay.”
Tang Chuan hung up having gotten no information from Su Yu. However, the latter couldn’t fall back asleep because of their brief conversation.
Su Yu really wanted to call or message Huo Mian. However, it was too late and he didn’t want to wake her up.
Therefore, he had no choice but to wait until morning.
Huo Mian didn’t sleep well that night; she knew that if they wanted to seem believable, they had to give their all. However, she had never left the twins behind and as a mother, she felt worse than ever.
She wrapped her blanket around her body and thought about her husband and children, trying not to cry.
Finally, it was morning. Huo Mian got up at 5 AM and went downstairs to help her mother with breakfast.
“Mian, did you and Qin Chu get into a fight?” Yang Meirong asked.
“No.”
“Why did you come all the way here last night then? When was the last time you stayed here?”
“Don’t be sensitive, Mom, I was working overtime,” Huo Mian said vaguely.
“Don’t lie to me. You’re my daughter, of course I know what’s going on in that head of yours,” Yang Meirong scoffed, obviously unconvinced.
Huo Mian wanted to explain, but she suddenly felt nauseous. She immediately ran to the garbage can, trying to control herself.
“What’s going on? Are you not feeling well?”
“I’m not sure, I think it’s because I didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Mian… are you pregnant again?” Yang Meirong asked with excitement.
Huo Mian froze; after a brief second, she shook her head. “I can’t be, I got my period just last month.”
“What about this month?”
“This month? Uhh…Before Huo Mian could finish her thought, Zhixin ran into the kitchen.
“Sis, have you seen the news yet?”
“No, why?”
“Something big happened. Your husband’s now trending,” Zhixin said with a pale face, handing his phone over to Huo Mian.
The latter’s face darkened as soon as she saw Zhixin’s screen.
