Chapter 1298: The Blade Inside Her Heart

Skeleton Soldiers quickly flooded the entire forest.

But under Seraphina’s holy barrier, the undead were visibly suppressed.

The moment they got close to the gold light, their bones slowed, and the flames in their eye sockets wavered. What had started as a disciplined charge formation was crushed into a scattered mess in seconds.

Emerald Castle’s army saw the restricted Skeleton Soldiers and their morale surged.

The front line raised their weapons.

The first sword met a skeleton’s rusted blade.

Clang!

The crisp sound rang across the battlefield.

Like a fuse dropping into gunpowder, it ignited the fight on both sides.

Emerald Castle’s soldiers burst out from under the shield.

Blades severed bony arms. Spears punched through ribcages. With holy power weighing them down, the Skeleton Soldiers couldn’t mount an effective counterattack, dropping in waves between mud and dead leaves.

But in the very center of the skeleton horde, a tiny rag doll sat quietly.

Lopsy had returned to its original size.

It lowered its head, inspecting a tear in its patchwork clothes, then used the small scissors to stitch the split fabric back together, bit by bit.

The last stitch fell.

The surrounding skeletons converged at once.

Frames closed in from every direction, stepping over one another, stacking upward. Ribs, arms, skulls, and leg bones linked together in a grotesque weave, quickly forming a gigantic skeletal giant.

Lopsy stood atop the giant’s head.

No more hiding.

Its small body expanded again, patchwork cloth ballooning outward—until, in a blink, Lopsy Blackstitch returned to its extreme, colossal form.

It pointed the closed scissors toward the army ahead.

Then it rose into the air and faced Andona directly.

The two scissor blades ground against each other, spitting out furious metallic clacks.

Seraphina seized the opening and charged from behind.

Her enormous jaws opened wide.

Razor teeth aimed at the doll’s upper body, bite force crushing the air into jets that blew off to both sides.

Lopsy noticed Seraphina closing in.

It didn’t turn right away. It simply slung the scissors behind its back, laying the blades across the dragon’s approach path—its attention still locked on Andona ahead.

Andona’s twenty pairs of angel wings beat in perfect rhythm.

She shifted her hands in front of her chest and began chanting under her breath.

Golden runes appeared in the air, dropping one by one beneath Lopsy.

They connected into a massive golden array almost instantly. Light streamed along the lines toward the center, and the surrounding space was pinned by sacred force.

Behind Lopsy, Seraphina’s teeth clamped down on the scissors.

Crack!

Her monstrous bite shattered metal.

The scissors snapped in the middle. The blades burst into countless fragments that sprayed outward.

Seraphina destroyed the weapon—then immediately felt her teeth shudder.

That "scissors" was far harder than it looked.

She released her bite, swallowing the sour ache in her jaw, and beat her wings again to pull back.

What nobody expected was that the broken fragments didn’t fall.

The metal shards stopped in midair.

Then, one by one, they rose toward Lopsy.

Some began orbiting it, snapping together into an irregular shield that wedged itself between Lopsy’s body and the golden array.

The rest rotated and re-aimed.

Every jagged broken edge pointed at Andona mid-cast.

Whoosh!

The shards launched together.

They took different paths across the battlefield, curving around from both sides to reach Andona, trying to break her concentration before the spell completed.

Andona couldn’t interrupt now.

The golden array had entered its final phase—any pause would make the power she’d gathered lose control.

Seraphina forced down the ache in her teeth.

She surged out from behind Lopsy and placed herself in front of Andona.

Most of the shards slammed into dragon scales.

Clinking impacts burst in rapid succession as metal fragments bounced off the hardened plates, leaving only thin scratches.

But a handful of smaller pieces avoided the front.

They skimmed along Seraphina’s neck, matching her speed.

With her huge body blocking everyone’s sightline, the tiny shards slipped into her ear.

No impact.

No immediate pain.

They burrowed onward through soft tissue, driving toward Seraphina’s dragon heart.

Around Lopsy, the remaining shards suddenly vibrated with a strange, secret rhythm.

Bzzzzz—

The sound cut through the battlefield.

The skeleton army on the ground changed with it.

Ordinary Skeleton Soldiers began to swell. Arms and legs stretched outward. One after another, bodies grew larger.

Giant skeletons stepped over their fallen, pressing down toward Emerald Castle’s lines.

Meanwhile, the shards aimed at Andona struck her golden defenses.

Metal points drilled again and again at the Light Force surface, but couldn’t breach it.

After failing, every shard snapped to a new target.

They abandoned Andona and re-locked onto Seraphina, the one shielding her.

After confirming Andona was safe, Seraphina wanted to withdraw and return to Feylora to rest.

But the scissor fragments that had been repelled by the golden shield didn’t disperse.

They hung in the air for a beat, jagged edges adjusting together, then flew at Seraphina again. They formed layered waves, staggered front to back, sealing off her upward and sideways evasions.

Seraphina closed her jaws.

A massive claw lifted slowly, power gathering from shoulder to talons. One solid slap would send a shock strong enough to scatter every shard.

As she prepared to strike, a sharp pain stabbed from deep inside her chest.

It didn’t travel through scales or flesh—it detonated straight from within. The tiny shards that had slipped in through her ear had already reached the area near her dragon heart, vibrating at an insane frequency.

Seraphina’s body locked.

Her claw froze midair.

The power she’d been gathering slipped out of control, bleeding from her talons into nothing.

And the incoming shards were already on her.

Fragments hammered into her head, chest, and wings. Every hit burst a ring of deep green light across her scales. The rapid impacts shoved her massive body backward, tipping her off balance in midair.

Everyone below looked up at the sight—anger rising in their eyes.

The last wave of fragments slammed into Seraphina’s chest.

Boom!

She fell from the sky and crashed into the skeleton horde.

Skeleton Soldiers were pulverized under her body, bones exploding outward. The ground caved from the impact, dead trees and mud flung up into the air.

After the strike, the tiny shards inside Seraphina shot back out through gaps in her scales.

No sound. No follow-up.

They simply rose again into the sky, returning to Lopsy, merging with the other fragments orbiting its body.
