Yu Jin saw the private seal of Chen Xi brought by the sentry, and couldn’t help but twitch his mouth. Is there some new problem in Chang’an that requires him to be summoned into the city to quell a disturbance?

"Notify Chen Shuzhi to come with me to greet them," Yu Jin said to his trusted aide.

When Liu Bei left, he only left two commanders-in-chief for the main army, one was Yu Jin, and the other was Chen Dao. Whether it was seniority or previous performance, Yu Jin was ahead of Chen Dao, so Yu Jin was the de facto commander of the current camp.

Since proving himself in the Northern Frontier as not inferior in Inner Qi Manifestation, Yu Jin’s demeanor was no longer as gloomy as it used to be. Therefore, he had no negative thoughts about not entering Chang’an and instead guarding the camp.

For Yu Jin, his achievements in the Northern Frontier were nothing remarkable, whether he went or not, he would still be a Marquis. Entering Chang’an might mean abstaining from meat due to the Emperor’s passing, and he might even have to tend to the spirit. But outside Chang’an, he could enjoy good food and drink without a care.

Soon, the silent Chen Dao carrying a long spear arrived. Yu Jin nodded to him, took out Chen Xi’s private seal, and shared his guess.

"Since we have nothing better to do, let’s go meet them together," Yu Jin said with a smile to Chen Dao, who nodded in response. Yu Jin had something to say but it wasn’t the right time to bring it up.

The two rode their horses out of the camp and soon reached the camp gate. Seeing a group of escorts outside the camp, they furrowed their brows. The equipment looked like that of a city management brigade, but they recognized two of the leaders.

"Zhang Du, Fann Zhe, you’ve joined the army, huh? Didn’t see you during the Northern Frontier battle," Yu Jin said in a familiar manner, greeting Zhang Du and Fann Zhe.

Yu Jin knew the outstanding figures among the Yellow Turban Commanders, as they basically joined as Chiliarchs and had the qualifications to attend meetings. Though they didn’t speak much, they could at least become familiar faces. Zhang Du and Fann Zhe had also once received military science rewards, so Yu Jin considered them acquaintances.

"We are protecting Doctor Ji on her way from Ye City to Chang’an," Zhang Du explained to Yu Jin, pointing at Ji Xiang.

"Oh, oh, oh, I remember now, it’s her. I thought Marquis Chen had some business, didn’t expect it was Doctor Ji. What brings her to our camp? This is a place for men after all," Yu Jin said, recognizing Ji Xiang after staring for a moment.

"I need some experimental materials, so I came over," Ji Xiang stepped forward to explain.

Upon hearing this, Yu Jin nodded and made a gesture of invitation, "So, Doctor Ji, will you be staying here for the time being, or traveling between the relay station and the camp every day?"

Ji Xiang frowned; staying in the camp was indeed inconvenient, but traveling back and forth was even more troublesome. "Where are Physician Hua and Dr. Zhang?"

"They’ve already gone to Chang’an. Minister Xun invited the two physicians to treat his offspring," Yu Jin replied without turning his head.

"Oh, then set up a small camp next to where they stayed before, and I’ll stay there. By the way, are the prisoners fierce?" Ji Xiang nodded and replied.

"There’s no problem with that," Yu Jin nodded. "The Miscellaneous Hun prisoners are just like that, lacking spirit. If there weren’t so many, we wouldn’t even bother to guard them so strictly."

"Oh, you don’t mind me using them for research, right?" Ji Xiang inquired.

"Feel free to research as you like," Yu Jin said nonchalantly, "As long as you have no issues yourself, you can conduct your research freely. By the way, try not to wear such flamboyant clothes in the camp. Though our soldiers can control themselves, there are still some of Cao and Sun’s soldiers on the camp’s wings who might wander over, and that would be quite normal."

Yu Jin didn’t care if Ji Xiang might end up killing these prisoners during her experiments. It should be noted that among the hundreds of thousands of prisoners, there were daily fights and brawls due to prisoners from different tribes, which could result in several deaths. To Yu Jin, it was better to let Ji Xiang research them instead of them dying in meaningless ways.
