Chapter 459 (1): The Plan to Destroy Heaven Was Formulated by the Anointed One

“The six of us can’t do it.”

Lust chuckled self-deprecatingly. Pride had a nice idea. He proved to be the lead of the Seven Deadly Sins as an ambitious demon lord. However, Pride had found himself the wrong teammates. One demon might be powerful, but two demons were lesser than the sum of their strengths. Seven demon lords together would turn the fight to invade Heaven into a fight to protect Hell.

The cruel reality was self-evident. What was impossible was impossible.

“Yeah, you’re at least self-aware...”

Lust made so much sense that Wayne had to nod in agreement. To his knowledge, demons had never achieved anything when they banded together.

Each demon had their plan and believed that their plan was foolproof. Each demon believed their allies were unworthy of trust and plotting against them. They saw each other as tools and wished to become the sole winner...

In comparison, while infighting existed among angels, they at least banded together under the banner of agreed-upon politics. When it came to staying politically correct, the Seven Sacred Virtues covered up for each other and always stood together.

The Seven Deadly Sins were no match for the Seven Sacred Virtues!

“So? What is your plan to fight your way back to Heaven?”

Lust tucked herself in the Bat Demon’s arms, her impressive bosom pressed against Bat Demon’s chest. A large expanse of smooth, fair skin spilled from the collar of her red evening gown.

While her posture was scandalous, her mannerism and temperament were seductive yet noble and elegant. She was enthusiastic without losing her mystique. She was truly incredible.

Lust’s charm was shown in the unplanned little moments. She didn’t have to cater to others’ tastes since she fit the taste of all living beings. Every lifeform could find something they desired in her.

In other words, her charm was universal!

Wayne glanced down. The massive evil was like an abyss that captured and devoured all light. Not even vision could escape it.

Lust smiled. Even Pride was falling for her.

“I have many plans, but I have no reason to tell you.” Wayne shook his head. “You said so yourself. You can’t do it.”

He didn’t know Pride, and without knowledge of Pride’s character, he couldn’t formulate a plan. He hoped that Lust would come up with one for him.

“Stop acting, Pride. You may look down on us six because of your pride, but we are the only ones who can help you take down the Seven Sacred Virtues. The fact that you sought me out means that you need me.”

Lust pressed Bat Demon’s hand to her chest and broke into a graceful smile. “I’m more valuable than the five of them. They don’t deserve to know your plan, but I’m different. That’s why you sought me out.”

Where does that confidence come from, sis? Your disregard for the other demon lords shows your pride.

When Bat Demon didn’t respond, Lust said bluntly, “Envy has been dragging you down. While powerful, he is an unpredictable factor. Sloth and Greed are too extreme in their sins to be trusted. Gluttony and Wrath are at war. They’re experts in internal conflict, but of little use outside of that...”

“I am the only one of the Seven Deadly Sins you can work with!”

“That makes sense.”

Wayne held Lust’s heavy ‘heart’ in his hand. Putting himself in Pride’s shoes, he realized how difficult life was for the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins. Were he Pride, he would try his best to escape Hell, too.

It was impossible to carry this band of misfits!

When Bat Demon continued to act ignorant, Lust said with irritation, “Pride, you’ve made me your business partner by appearing before me. Just be blunt with me. What is your plan?”

“Um...”

“I knew it. You’re going to unify Hell and become the great demon god.”

Lust glanced at him derisively. He hid the fact and refused to answer her question, as if he believed she couldn’t guess it.

“Forget becoming the demon god. Becoming god is beneath me, Pride. I am forever greater than gods.” Wayne huffed, immersing himself in the role. “A wimp like Mikhael would cry for a long time after taking one punch from me.”

Lust’s pupils contracted. “You...” she said in surprise. “Can you defeat Mikhael in Heaven now?”

She stared at Bat Demon and smoothed a hand over his pale chest, touching the giant fiendish eye with her fingertips. “The power of the Void,” she murmured. “Or should I call it the power of the Eye of Judgment? You’ve tamed those angels and acquired the key to their evolution...”

Wayne said nothing. He didn’t need to say anything when Lust was making up a full story for him.

What did she mean by taming the angels, though? Were there angels in Hell? Were they captives from the previous war? After all this time, had the angels managed to abduct Pride’s children as hostages?

“So this replica is your leverage. He is powerful, powerful enough to earn my trust.” Lust thought back to her horrible experience and couldn’t help but approve of Bat Demon. The replica had a great potential, able to evolve on his own even without Pride’s thoughts controlling him. He had a bright future.

“Since you’ve seen through me, Lust, I’ll stop hiding. You are a partner in my plan. No other demon lords are useful to me right now. They can only be my tools.”

Wayne tightened his clutch of Lust’s bosom. His seven eyes provided him views from seven angels, all aimed at Lust. “I need the Law of the Deadly Sin that you possess, as well as a territory. I’ll have this replica rise to our ranks and replace one of the Seven Demon Lords.”

“Who?”

The Lord of Greed!

The Lord of Greed overlapped with the Book of Greed, so Wayne found the Deadly Sin disagreeable. If he was to replace someone, it would have to be the Lord of Greed.

However, things had changed. With the information of Mechanical Augmentation spreading in Hell, showing the unseen hands reaching into Hell, Gluttony and Wrath took priority. Greed could wait.

“Either Gluttony or Wrath. They’re at war, and they will not stop until one of them is dead...”

“That’s an exaggeration. They will stop.”

“Ha, you don’t know anything!”

Wayne pushed Lust off and stood up, retracting his bat wings and long tail into his body. He reshaped his form before putting on a leather top and pants that were metal in style, paired with long boots, metal belt, black trenchcoat, fingerless gloves, and piercings...

His large chest eye was now covered. Still standing at two and a half meters tall, he looked down at Lust with all six of his golden eyes. “Why do you think Gluttony and Wrath have gotten into a fight? They once sneaked into the human world. What do you think they acquired there?”

Lust frowned deeply. “Envy once said that you saw everything in the human world. He’s been telling the truth.”

“It’s all a lie!” Wayne stated. “Envy has no proof, and without proof, his words are lies. He only deserves to be a clown, and justice and fairness will never arrive for him.”

Lust nodded. That was true.

Now that she knew the truth, it became even more fun to look at Envy’s pitiful, frustrated expression.

“Gluttony and Wrath acquired a never-before-seen evolution in the human world. The Law is powerful enough to corrupt a Deadly Sin like you...”

“What do you mean by a Deadly Sin like me?” Lust groused.

“What? Any objections?”

Wayne scoffed derisively. He might not be able to impersonate Pride well, but he was an expert in mockery and insult. He was able to infuriate Lust with a few choice words.

Lust was going to argue, but then Bat Demon raised a hand and splayed his fingers, sending a thread of strange information out of his fingertips. She took a step back involuntarily.

“Don’t be scared. I told you you were my partner rather than a tool. I’m not going to set you up!”

“...”

Allow me, a fellow demon, to be blunt. Nothing out of a demon’s mouth is to be trusted.

Lust rationally resisted the unknown information, and Wayne didn’t push. He pointed at the pile of succubus on the ground. “Michele is your familiar and a powerful demigod. You can use her body to counter the information and see if you can resist the corruption.”

The redhead had perfect curves, stunning appearance, and appealing temperament. Wayne had gotten to know her inside out, so he knew her name.

“She’s Leone.”

“Whatever. Both are redheads.”

“You’re too prideful!”

Lust shook her head. Agreeing to Bat Demon’s suggestion, she called the naked Leone over with a wave.

Suspended in the air, Leone was put into a T-pose with her arms raised. She lowered her head, her half-open eyes dim. She looked thoroughly debauched.

Drip, drop.

Lust held onto one of Leone’s shoulders, and Wayne held the other shoulder. He released the information of Mechanical Augmentation to corrupt the succubus.

It was easy. No matter how Lust struggled, she could only watch as her familiar was taken from her.

Once Leone had become eighty percent corrupted, Wayne took Mechanical Augmentation back. “So? Do you still have any objection to how I phrased things? ‘A Deadly Sin like you?’”

Lust tried to maintain her calm, but had trouble concealing her shock. She corrupted Leone back into her shape, staring straight at Bat Demon.

The evolution of succubi couldn’t resist the mechanization, or it was more accurate to say that the Seven Deadly Sins had met a landslide defeat. She could cut out the corrupted part and maintain autonomy, keeping the corruption of Mechanical Augmentation under control, but under the aggressive corruption, no number of her familiars would be able to resist.

After a moment of shock, her eyes gleamed with strong greed.

She wanted it!

Lust wasn’t an amalgamation of dirty thoughts. She had a clear mind. Thinking back to what Bat Demon had said, she realized why Pride was targeting Gluttony and Wrath.

Gluttony and Wrath had acquired the key to evolution. The winner would become the great demon god in Hell, infringing upon Pride’s interest. Pride had to make an aggressive move.

Lust suppressed her greed, lowering her head and closing her eyes. “I do not understand. You can control the Law, which means you have gotten further down the path of evolution. Sooner or later, they will become your slave. Why can’t you tolerate them? Why would you tempt me?”

“First, I didn’t tempt you. You failed to resist the temptation yourself,” Wayne said slowly. “Second, I didn’t get further down the evolution than Gluttony and Wrath, and they won’t become my slave. As for who their future master is... Those poor demons, believing themselves to be their own masters.”

“What?!” Lust’s pupils contracted. Her breathing hitched. “There is another god hidden in the human world, planning on corrupting all of Hell?”

Before Bat Demon could answer, Lust said hurriedly, “You know everything. Why didn’t you stop Gluttony and Wrath in the beginning? Who is the god? You—”

“Why are you able to master the information of Mechanical Augmentation? You should be like us...” Lust staggered back, a possibility occurring to her. “Pride, tell me the truth,” she said in a trembling voice. “You’re already a real demon god, aren’t you?”

“You may think what you want, and I’ll say you’re right.” Wayne laughed darkly. “See? I’m not prideful at all!”

You aren’t agreeing with me, but dismissing me. You are prideful!

Lust took a deep breath, considering the possibility that Pride was already a god. All this time, Pride had shown unusual power. Whenever Envy, who ranked second in terms of sins, challenged Pride to a duel, as long as Pride was serious, Envy always ended up face-tanking Pride’s punches and kicks.

He always took the hits with his face, without fail.

If the other demon lords attacked Pride together... Again, demons all had their own plans, so banding together would only make them lose faster.

No, Pride hasn’t become a god!

Lust disproved her own speculation, coming up with a hundred different reasons that Pride wasn’t yet a god once she calmed down.

Pride’s prowess could be explained. The gap between two demigods could sometimes be greater than the gap between a demigod and a regular person. Pride was the first life born in Hell, so it wasn’t strange for Pride to be stronger than all other demons.

If Pride were a god, someone as prideful as him would never allow Heaven to defeat Hell. He would have already haughtily stepped on all other gods!

If Pride were a god, Mikhael of Heaven would have to be one, too!

Too many things didn’t add up, so Pride couldn’t be a god yet. He had not ignited his divine fire. The Seven Deadly Sins still originated from the Seven Demon Lords.

Realizing the truth, Lust said, “Gluttony and Wrath are rivals, so you want to take them out. You’ve gained a key to an evolution outside of those in Hell. You will become the great demon god in Hell!”

“Well, I suppose.”

Wayne nodded. As long as he could take out Gluttony and Wrath and eliminate the potential risks, Lust could think however she wanted.

He reached out in demand of the Cantos of Lust from the Divine Comedy of the Seven Deadly Sins, as well as a part of her territory.
